2. Basic Working Principle

Any object will release infrared radiation energy, and the surface temperature directly determines the size and wavelength of the radiation energy. Based on this principle, this product is designed to apply the German high-precision infrared sensor to detect the infrared radiation energy with the wavelength of 5-14µm released by human body, and accurately measure the human body temperature through accurate operation and a variety of compensation correction.

9. Measuring Method

Ensure that the measuring mode on the screen is the body temperature mode.

Tips:

  • Body temperature mode is suitable for measuring human body temperature, accounting for dynamic compensation between ambient and forehead surface temperatures.
  • The temperature offset value can amend measured values based on ambient temperature, measuring distance, individual skin differences, etc. The correction range is from -3.0°C to +3.0°C, with a factory setting of 0.0°C. For example, if the thermometer reads 36.2°C and the actual temperature is 37.0°C, enter F3 to increase the deviation by 0.8°C.
  • If the environmental temperature changes largely and affects the forehead temperature, measure through aligning on the back of the earlobe.
  • Before and after use, keep the sensor and probe cavity clean.
  • Place the thermometer in a stable environment. If moving from extreme temperatures (indoors to outdoors), allow it to stabilize for about 30 minutes before measuring.
  • Do not measure immediately after exposure to extremely high or low temperatures.
  • When the measured object comes from a significantly different temperature environment, allow the thermometer to stabilize in the test environment for at least five minutes.
  • Avoid use after blowing, showering, sweating, or applying cosmetics on the forehead.
  • Do not use within 30 minutes after exercise, bathing, or eating.

Measurement Procedure:

Align the thermometer probe to the forehead in the middle, keeping it vertical at a distance of about 3-5 cm (Fig. 9.1). Press the measuring key. After 1 second, a "beep" ? sound will be heard, and the measured value (Fig. 9.2) will be displayed. Measurement is complete. If the measured value exceeds the temperature warning point (default 38°C), a warning tone of five "beeps" is triggered.

Diagram Description (Fig. 9.1, 9.2, 9.3): Fig. 9.1 illustrates the recommended measuring distance of 3-5 cm from the forehead. Fig. 9.2 shows the thermometer display with a reading of 36.5°C. Fig. 9.3 shows an alternative measurement method using the earlobe.

10. Battery Replace

When the ? symbol displays on the LCD, it indicates a low battery state. Open the battery cover and replace the batteries. Ensure correct polarity (+/-). Use only specified batteries; non-rechargeable batteries cannot be charged. Remove batteries if not in use for over 3 months. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types.

Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

11. Maintenance and Precautions

Keep the sensor and probe cavity clean to ensure measurement accuracy.

Cleaning Methods:

  • Surface cleaning: Wipe with a little medical alcohol or water using a clean soft cloth or cotton stick.
  • Sensor and probe cavity cleaning: Gently wipe the probe cavity or sensor top with a little medical alcohol using a clean soft cloth or cotton stick. Use only after alcohol is completely volatile.

Notes:

  • Please read the Operation Manual before use. Ensure the battery is installed.
