*To be performed by knowledgeable, experienced owners or CPE certified service centers.
Operation at High Altitude
At high altitudes, lower air density reduces engine power and generator output by approximately 3.2% for every 1000 feet of elevation. This can lead to hard starting, increased fuel consumption, and spark plug fouling. For optimal performance at higher altitudes, a specific high-altitude carburetor main jet may be required. Consult Customer Support for installation instructions and part numbers. The correct main jet selection depends on the carburetor model, identified by a code stamped on its side.
Carburetor Code | Main Jet | Part Number | Altitude |
P22-8-H | Standard | 27.131017.01.H | 3500 ft. (1067 m) |
P22-8-H | Altitude | 27.131017.01.01.H | 3500 ft. (1067 m) |
