Installation
Before You Start
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Consult a qualified technician for instructions.
- Avoid installing the unit where it would be subject to high temperatures (e.g., direct sunlight) or dust, dirt, or excessive vibration.
Mounting
Use 2 or 3 screws to affix the monitor to the bracket. The diagram shows the trim ring and mounting screws (M5.0 x 6.0mm and M5.0 x 5.0mm).
Wiring Diagram - Inputs/Outputs
The diagram illustrates the connections for the unit, including power, speakers, antenna, USB, external microphone, and inputs/outputs for cameras and audio/video.
Fuse: If replacing a fuse, use only a new one with the prescribed rating (15A ATC mini style fuse).
Wiring Notes:
- Subwoofer output: The Subwoofer preamp audio output (Blue jacket with Black RCA) is active in all audio modes.
- Rear camera input: A rear view camera (not included) can be used with the Camera input.

General Operation
Power On/Off
Momentarily press the power button to turn the unit on. Press and hold to turn the unit off.
Volume
Press + or - to increase or decrease the volume level.
Mute
Momentarily press MUTE to silence the audio. Press MUTE again to return to the previously selected volume. Rotating the volume knob also cancels mute.
Mode
Press MODE at the top left of the screen to display the main menu (Radio/USB/Android Auto/CarPlay/BT Phone/BT Audio/AV In/Setting).
Main Menu
Press the home icon ? at the top left of the screen to display the OSD main menu. Select the desired source (Radio, USB, Android Auto, CarPlay, BT Phone, BT Audio, AV In, Setting).
Dimmer
Press the dimmer icon ? to adjust the brightness.
A/V In
Connect external audio/video devices to the rear RCA Type A/V Input.
USB
Insert a USB flash drive to play MP3/FLAC files.
Reset
To resolve abnormal operation, press the RESET button located behind the front panel under the USB port. Use the tip of a pen to access the reset button.
Setup Menu
From the Main Menu, select Setup to access the Settings menu. Adjust options in categories like General, Audio, Display, and Others.
General Settings
- Adjust Date and Time (Day, Month, Year, Hour, Minute, Format).
- Time Format: Select 12-Hour or 24-Hour.
- Beep Tone: Turn On or Off.
- Radio Region: Select Radio Region.
Audio Settings
- Equalizer: Select EQ presets (Default, User, Classic, Rock, Jazz, Electric, Pop, Soft) or enter custom EQ settings.
- Time Alignment: Select "Surround1", "Surround2", or "Surround3" for time correction.
- Loudness: Turn On/Off.
- Subwoofer Control: Turn On/Off.
- Subwoofer Gain: Adjust from -15 to 0 (-6 is default).
Display Settings
- Brightness: Adjust level (0-20).
- Dimmer Mode: Adjust mode (Auto/Day/Night).
Others Settings
- Factory Default: Reset Bluetooth Settings or Reboot System.
- System Version: Displays software version.
Tuner Operation
From the main menu, touch the Radio icon to select AM/FM tuner mode.
- Main Menu ☺: Return to Main Menu screen.
- Current Mode Indicator ☺: Displays tuning status (e.g., Auto).
- Local / Distance ☺: Toggle between local and distance reception.
- Seek Tune Down ☺: Tune to a lower frequency.
- Seek Tune Up ☺: Tune to a higher frequency.
- Preset Stations ☺: Store or recall stations. Hold to switch between AS and PS.
- FM ☺: Toggle between 3 FM bands.
- AM ☺: Toggle between 2 AM bands.
- AS/PS ☺: Auto Store Presets (hold) or Preset Scan (press).
- EQ ☺: Adjust Equalizer setting.
- Keypad ☺: Direct Search Keypad.
USB Operation
From the main menu, touch the USB icon on the main screen.
- Main Menu ☺: Return to Main Menu screen.
- Current Mode Indicator ☺: Displays source currently playing.
- EQ ☺: Adjust Equalizer setting.
- Search ☺: Search for a music file.
- List ☺: Access a list of all files and folders. Navigate folders and return to previous screens using the arrows.
- Repeat ☺: Repeat current track or all tracks. Touch RPT again to exit repeat mode.
- Random ☺: Shuffle tracks. Touch X icon again to exit repeat mode.
- Track Down ☺: Return to the beginning of the current track.
- Play / Pause ☺: Pause or resume playback.
- Track Up ☺: Skip to the next song.

Notes:
- Due to ongoing technological advancement, some USB flash drives may be incompatible.
- MP3 playback starts in the root folder. Empty folders or folders without MP3 files are skipped.
- Maximum nested folder depth is 8. Valid characters for folder/file names are A-Z, 0-9, and "_".
- Some files may not play or display correctly depending on sampling rates and bit rates.
- For best results, use 128kbps or higher constant bit rate and 44.1kHz or higher sampling frequency when ripping MP3 files.
Bluetooth Operation
Before using Bluetooth
A Bluetooth device must be authenticated (paired) to make hands-free calls or stream audio.
Pairing a New Device
The unit broadcasts a pairing signal. Complete the pairing sequence from your Bluetooth device. The device name is "DMCPA70BT".
Connect
The head unit automatically connects to the last connected device if "Auto connect" is On. If "Auto Connect Off" is selected, it will not connect automatically.
Bluetooth Phone
From the main menu, touch Bluetooth ☺. The Bluetooth icon will appear when a device is connected.
- Main Menu ☺: Return to Main Menu screen.
- Current Mode Indicator ☺: Displays current mode.
- Bluetooth Status Indicator ☺: Flashes when pairing, steady when connected.
- Phone Keypad ☺: Use the keypad to dial a number.
- Call ☺: Dial a number and touch the Phone icon to call.
- Devices ☺: Show pairing list. Connect to or disconnect from devices.
- Phone Book ☺: Access phone book.
- Call Log ☺: Show Dialed, Missed, and Received Calls.
- Bluetooth Music ☺: Transfer audio between the unit and mobile phone.
- Setup ☺: Access Bluetooth settings.
Making and Ending a Call
Press ☺ to connect a call, and press ☺ to end a call.
Transferring Audio
Press ☺ to transfer audio between the head unit and mobile phone.
Streaming Audio
- Press ☺ to play or pause music.
- Press ☺ to skip to the previous track.
- Press ☺ to advance to the next track.
Apple CarPlay Operation
Apple CarPlay™ is an interface for iPhone that allows voice control (via Siri) for music, navigation, phone, and messaging, reducing driver distraction.
- Phone: Use Siri to make calls, return missed calls, listen to voicemail, and view caller ID.
- Messages: Ask Siri to send, read, and reply to text messages.
- Music: Access music by artist, song, playlist, etc. The receiver mirrors the iPhone screen.
- Maps: Use Siri for turn-by-turn directions, searching addresses, or points of interest. Apple Maps are mirrored on the screen.

Starting Apple CarPlay™
Connect an iPhone to the receiver's USB port using an Apple Certified Lightning cable. CarPlay launches automatically. Familiar applications appear on the screen to activate Siri voice control.
Note: CarPlay features are limited while driving. Available functions vary by app. Visit www.apple.com/ios/carplay for more information.
Note: Certain iPhone functions may be illegal while driving. Familiarize yourself with local laws. If in doubt, park the vehicle before using any devices.
Controlling Apple CarPlay™
- Touch: Briefly press the desired option.
- Swipe: Briefly swipe in the desired direction.
- Drag: Press, hold, and drag to the desired location.
Note: No need to pair iPhone when using CarPlay; it connects automatically via USB.
Note: When CarPlay is in use, the unit's Bluetooth turns off automatically for hands-free functionality. Other Bluetooth devices will disconnect.
Exiting Apple CarPlay™
Disconnecting your iPhone exits CarPlay mode. To exit while the phone is connected, press the Power/Volume knob momentarily; the unit's main menu will be displayed.
Android Auto Operation
Android Auto™ brings useful apps from your phone to your car display for navigation, calls, text messages, and music.
Google Assistant
Use voice commands like "Ok Google" to control functions while driving.
Navigation
Get real-time traffic alerts and find the fastest route.
Calls & Messages
Use Google Assistant to call contacts, chat with apps, read messages aloud, and reply.
Compatible Devices
Requires the Android Auto app from Google Play installed on an Android smartphone running Android Lollipop 5.0 or higher.
Warning: Be aware of and obey local laws regarding smartphone use while driving. Use features only when safe to do so.
Starting Android Auto™
Connect an Android Auto™ compatible device to the unit via USB cable. Android Auto™ launches automatically or can be accessed from the main menu.
Note: When Android Auto is connected, the device is also connected via Bluetooth. If five devices are paired, you may need to delete a registered device.
Note: If Android Auto is turned on during a call on another phone, the Bluetooth connection will switch to the Android Auto compatible device after the call.
Using Android Auto™
The Android Auto home screen displays personalized information. Say "OK Google" or select the microphone icon to talk to Google.
Exiting Android Auto™
To exit Android Auto™, press the Exit button. Disconnecting your Android phone also exits Android Auto™ mode.
Rear RCA Input
Connect an optional audio/video source into the RCA (rear) input. Adjust volume as needed.
Rear Camera Operation - (Optional)
Using Rear Camera
Connect an optional rear camera to the Camera Input (Black RCA connector). Refer to the wiring diagram.
Auto Selection
The unit automatically selects camera mode when connected to the reverse lamp circuitry.
Note: External video output is not active when using the rear camera input.
SWC Input Operation
The built-in SWC Interface is compatible with PAC steering wheel control modules. The PAC SWI-RC is recommended. A third-party adapter may be needed for compatibility with other steering wheel controls.

Note: Not all OE steering wheel functions may be supported.
PAC SWI-RC Installation Hints
- Set "Radio Select Switch" to position 7 - "Pioneer/Other/Sony".
- Use the Pioneer/Sony/Other radio function mapping order for Dual units.
- If a function is not supported or desired, skip it as per the PAC SWI-RC instructions.
- Program the SWC function in the correct order per the PAC SWI-RC radio function mapping order instructions.

What to do?
- Before you call for service, check the troubleshooting guide in your owner's manual. A slight adjustment of any custom controls may save you a service call.
