Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
- READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning or removing contents from blender container. Never put hands into the blender container, or handle the blades with appliance plugged in.
- To protect against electrical hazards, and permanent damage to unit, do not put motor base of blender in water or other liquids.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Do not use carbonated liquids in the blender container, or in any blending container. Using carbonated liquids in a blender container may result in injury.
- Do not pour boiling water into the blender container.
- Do not blend liquids for more than 6 minutes.
- Avoid coming into contact with moving parts.
- Do not operate this blender or any other appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
- The use of attachments, including canning jars, not recommended by the manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to persons.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to prevent the possibility of severe personal injury and/or damage to the blender. A plastic scraper may be used, but must be used only when the blender is not running.
- Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.
- Always operate blender with lid in place.
- See Cleaning and Maintenance instructions. Add: Not for water jet cleaning.
- Always operate blender with jar pad properly in place.
- Do not fill above MAX FILL LINE for blending, SOUP or CLEAN settings.
- If the container overflows during blending, there is too much liquid/ingredients in the container. Stop blending, remove enough liquid/ingredients to below MAX FILL LINE, and continue blending. Do not operate if overflowing.
- Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage. When storing in an appliance garage, always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of fire, especially if the appliance touches the walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as it closes.
- Do not leave the Cuisinart® Hurricane™ Pro blender unattended while operating.
- The use of ear protection is recommended during extended operating periods.
- Ensure the jar coupler and motor coupler are aligned and engaged before operating. If unable to engage, remove container and shake contents, then try again.
- The coupling seat may be hot after running – do not touch.
- Replace jar pad if worn.
- When the power is ON and the Start/Stop button is flashing, do not touch coupling seat, interfere with blade movement, or remove blender jar pad. Accidentally touching a speed button may activate the blender.
- When blending hot liquids, remove center piece of two-piece cover.

Grounding Instructions
For your protection, the Cuisinart® Hurricane™ Pro Blenders are equipped with a 3-conductor cord that has a molded 3-prong grounding-type plug, and should be used in combination with a properly connected grounding-type outlet as shown in Figure 1. If a grounding-type outlet is not available, an adapter, shown in Figure 2, may be obtained so that a 2-slot wall outlet can be used with a 3-prong plug.
As shown in Figure 3, the adapter must be grounded by attaching its grounding lug under the screw of the outlet cover plate. ❗ CAUTION: Before using an adapter, it must be determined that the outlet cover plate screw is properly grounded. If in doubt, consult a licensed electrician. Never use an adapter unless you are sure it is properly grounded.
Diagram Description: The grounding diagram shows three figures. Figure 1 illustrates a properly connected 3-prong plug and grounding conductor. Figure 2 shows an adapter that allows a 3-prong plug to be used with a 2-slot outlet. Figure 3 details how to attach the adapter's grounding lug to the outlet cover mounting screw.
Note: Use of an adapter is not permitted in Canada and Europe. Green/Yellow: Earth Ground. Blue: Neutral. Brown: Live. NOTE: User-installed cord set plugs are not permitted in Europe.
This appliance is for 120 volts only and should not be used with a converter.
❗ IMPORTANT: Always unplug the Cuisinart® Hurricane™ Pro blender from outlet when assembling and disassembling.
To Reset the Unit
Your blender is equipped with a Resettable Thermal Protector to protect the motor. If the motor shuts down, unplug the blender. Let the blender rest for approximately 15 minutes. Once the resting period has elapsed, plug the power cord back into the outlet and continue blending. If your blender does not function properly following this procedure, discontinue use and contact a certified Cuisinart Consumer Service Center.

Helpful Reminders
- Lid should always be secure while the unit is in operation.
- Always use the blender on a clean, sturdy, and dry surface.
- Secure the measuring cap insert in the lid by twisting it clockwise.
- Additional ingredients can be added during blending by removing the measuring cap insert, adding ingredients, and replacing it securely.
- Do not place the blender jar on the base while the motor is running, or remove the jar before the blender has stopped running.
- Cut all foods into 1-inch pieces for uniform results.
- Do not attempt to blend boiling liquids or solid frozen foods (except ice cubes or frozen fruits cut to 1-cubic inch or smaller).
- When blending, add liquid ingredients first, followed by softer ingredients. Ice or frozen fruit should be added last.
- Use a plastic spatula as needed, only when the blender is turned off. Never use metal utensils, as they can damage the blender jar or blade.
- After 3 minutes of continuous blending, the blender will automatically shut off, unless in SOUP mode (which runs for 6 minutes).
- Milling hard ingredients and spices may cause some clouding of the blender jar interior, but will not affect performance.
- Use Turbo Boost function for maximum power to break up hard ingredients.
- Do not exceed the MAX FILL LINE when adding food or liquid.
- Ensure the blender jar is completely dry when chopping ice, fresh herbs, garlic, onion, zest, breadcrumbs, or nuts and spices.
- Do not store food or liquids in the blender jar.
- Be careful not to overprocess foods.
- Do not use any utensil inside the blender jar with the motor on.
- Unplug the blender before reaching into the blender jar.
- Never use carbonated liquids in the blender jar, as this may cause injury.
Recipe Tips
- Allow hot foods to cool slightly before blending to prevent steam buildup, which may cause the lid to lift.
- When making pureed soup or sauce without the soup function, add ½ to 1 cup of reserved cooking liquid with the cooked solids. Start blending on Speed 1 and gradually increase speed for desired consistency.
- Keep ice cubes made from juices, milk, or fruit purées on hand to substitute for plain ice in smoothies and frosty beverages to prevent dilution.
- Freeze overripe bananas (peeled, cut, and wrapped) for delicious smoothie or shake additions.
- Use the timer for ingredients that should not be overblended, such as heavy cream for whipped cream or egg whites for meringues.
- To make frozen treats, combine 1 cup liquid (e.g., rice milk, almond milk, soy milk) and 1 pound frozen fruit chunks in the blender jar. Select Speed 10 and press START. Blend until combined, then gradually decrease speed once large chunks are broken up and the mixture no longer turns over.
- When blending thick items like hummus, an air bubble may form in the center. Lower the speed to “pop” the bubble and allow ingredients to blend. Adding more liquid (water or oil) can also help.

This warranty supersedes all previous warranties on the Cuisinart® Hurricane™ Pro Blender. This warranty is available to consumers only. You are a consumer if you own a Cuisinart® Hurricane™ Pro Blender purchased at retail for personal, family, or household use. Cuisinart warrants that your blender will be free of defects in material or workmanship under normal home use for three years from the date of original purchase. Visit www.cuisinart.com for product registration, which facilitates warranty verification but does not eliminate the need for proof of purchase. Payment should be by check or money order. California residents need only supply proof of purchase and should call 1-800-726-0190 for shipping instructions.
NOTE: For added protection and secure handling, use a traceable, insured delivery service. Cuisinart is not responsible for in-transit damage or packages not delivered. Lost or damaged products are not covered under warranty.
California Residents Only
California law offers two options for in-warranty service: return the product to the store of purchase or another retail store selling Cuisinart products of the same type. The store may repair, refer to an independent facility, replace, or refund the purchase price less usage. If these options do not provide adequate relief, the consumer may take the product to an independent repair facility. Cuisinart is responsible for reasonable costs of service, repair, replacement, or refund for nonconforming products under warranty.
California residents may also return defective products directly to Cuisinart for repair or replacement by calling 1-800-726-0190. Cuisinart will cover the costs of repair, replacement, and shipping/handling.
