Knowledge About Parts and Accessories
1. Access-control Key
The key is a physical security device to control processing access. Insert it to unlock functions; remove it to prevent unauthorized use. Keep it safe, perform regular checks, and follow operation instructions.
Cautions:
- Keep the key safe when not in use.
- Check key status regularly; repair or replace if insertion is difficult.
- Use the key to lock/unlock functions at the appropriate times.
2. Emergency Stop Switch
This is a critical safety device that cuts off power in emergencies. It's typically a red button. To use, press it firmly. To reset, turn it clockwise about 45 degrees and restart the machine.
3. Exhaust Fan
Cleaning the exhaust fan is crucial for:
- Cooling efficiency: Prevents overheating and ensures proper operation.
- System stability: Maintains thermal management.
- Service life: Prevents premature wear.
If smoke exhaust slows, clean the fan. Steps: Turn off, remove pipe, clean fan with moist swab (water/alcohol), reattach pipe.
4. Laser Safety Goggles
Laser safety goggles protect eyes from high-energy laser beams, which can cause irreversible damage. They reflect or absorb beams. Even with goggles, avoid looking directly into the laser. Some machines have protective enclosures for Class 1 laser safety, but Class 4 machines require goggles.
5. Air Assist Set
The air assist set blows air into the machine via a tube to clean the processing area, cool materials, exhaust smoke, and blow away residues. It improves processing results, stability, and precision. Purchase separately from xtool.com.
- Cleaning the processing area: Disperses smoke, dust, and debris.
- Cooling the processed material part: Prevents material damage from heat.
- Facilitating smoke exhaustion: Helps remove harmful fumes.
- Blowing away residues: Ensures smoother cuts.
6. Lens Protector
The lens protector can get dirty from smoke, potentially reducing laser power or damaging the module. Regular maintenance is required.
Maintenance:
- Avoid scratches: Handle carefully, avoid sharp objects.
- Working environment: Keep the machine interior dry, dust-free, and free of corrosive gas. Ensure the exhaust fan works.
- Check status: Ensure the protector is firmly in place.
- Clean regularly: Remove dust and dirt to maintain laser transmission rate.
- Replace regularly: Replace if worn to prevent reduced performance or faults.
Cleaning:
Get ready: Detergent (alcohol, anhydrous acetone), cleaning tool (lint-free cloth, swab).
Steps:
- Turn off the machine and remove the laser module.
- Remove the nozzle from the laser module.
- Clean the lens protector and nozzle with a lint-free cloth moistened with alcohol.
Frequency:
- 10W laser module: Clean every 4 hours of processing.
- 20W laser module: Clean every 4 hours of processing.
- 40W laser module: Clean every 1 hour of processing.
Using the air assist set can reduce cleaning frequency.
