1. Safety Instructions
Correct training is required. Untrained personnel must not operate the strapping machine to avoid equipment damage or personal injury.
1.1 Battery Operation
Environmental Protection: Do not dispose of used batteries in household waste or wastewater. Do not hit or burn batteries.
Short Circuit Hazard: Do not store batteries with metal objects. Do not disassemble batteries. Store in a dry, frost-resistant room, not exceeding 50°C. Replace damaged or unusable batteries.
1.2 Eye Injury Hazards
Wear eye protection when using this product.
1.3 Operation
Read instructions carefully and train properly before use. Do not place hands in the binding, gluing, or cutter areas until familiar with the baler.
1.4 Friction Welding Area
Check the friction welding area and familiarize yourself with friction and tightening time controls. Irregular friction time can lead to poor bonding and damage. Do not ship boxes not properly packed.
1.5 Packing Straps Distribution
Use the specially designed belt tray carriage. Secure the strap end when not in use.
1.6 Straps Warning
Do not use straps to drag or lift loads, as this can cause damage or injury.
1.7 Hazards of Strap Breakage
Improper operation, excessive tightening, or incorrect strap usage can lead to lost tension, strap breakage, box/cargo damage, operator imbalance, or the strapping machine and strap flying towards the operator.
Note:
⚠️ If loads have sharp edges, add edge protection. Wrap straps around the appropriate area. Operators should not stand in the direct line of tightening/friction to avoid injury from tipping. Keep bystanders away. Use recommended strap width and strength for efficiency.
1.8 Cutting Straps
Use appropriate cutting tools, maintain a safe distance, and avoid being in the strap's loose direction. Do not use hammers, pliers, or axes for cutting.
1.9 Slip and Fall Hazards
Keep the work area clean and tidy. Ensure stable footing, especially in small areas. Do not operate when unwell or in a difficult physical condition.
1.10 Dangers of the Baler
Regular maintenance is crucial. Check parts for wear or damage and replace them. Do not use the baler without straps or modify it, as this may cause personal injury.
2. Technical Parameters
2.1 Description of the Battery Strapping Tool
The DS-16 battery strapping tool offers efficient strapping with a max tension power of 2500N, adjustable in 9 grades via digital display. It uses a high-capacity 6000mAh lithium battery, providing up to 600 cycles per charge. It is economical compared to similar models and widely used in various industries.
2.2 Baler Dimensions
- Length: 360MM
- Width: 130MM
- Height: 140MM
2.3 Strapping Materials
Straps: PET (polyester) or PP (polypropylene) tape, flat or embossed surface. Specifications: width 9-16MM, thickness 0.4-1.2MM. Choose appropriate strap size.
2.4 Straps Strength
Stretching force: adjustable from 600 to 3200 N (material dependent). Strap feeding speed: 50-150MM/S. Friction strength: approx. 75% of strap strength.
2.5 Working Environment
Operation temperature: 5-45°C (optimum 15-25°C). Protect from water and moisture.
3. Accessories
Note: Use only specified attachments. Other attachments may cause damage or injury.
3.1 Rechargeable Portable Baler Battery
Type: Lithium Battery, Voltage: 18V, Capacity: 5000MAH.
3.2 Battery Charger (Optional)
Input voltage: AC100-240V. Output voltage: 21V, 2.5A. Charging time: approx. 90 minutes.
4. Operations
4.1 Battery Installation
Do not expose batteries to rain or water. Batteries are shipped uncharged. Press the battery clip snap to remove or install. Indicator light: Red (low battery), Red (charging), Green (charging complete).
4.2 Operating Elements
Diagram description: The strapping tool features a Friction button, Tension button, LED control display unit, Indicator lights, and a Battery. Buttons are labeled "Press to tension force" and "Press to friction time".
4.3 Semi-auto Mode and Auto Mode
The DS-16 has two tension modes: one-touch tension and continuous button press for tension. To convert modes, press the tension button and lift the handle simultaneously until the indicator flashes.
4.4 Baler Operations
Semi-auto Tension Mode (Press button continuously to tension)
Step 1: Wrap and stack the straps. Wrap straps as shown, keeping them dry.
Step 2: Insert the straps into the baler. Ensure straps are stacked at the top end, stretched to the feeding wheel, covering the tooth plate. Insert 5-10MM longer. Lift the handle with the right hand, insert with the left. Stack strap ends parallel.
Step 3: Tighten or feeding in the straps. Pressing the tension button provides default tightening. Adjust tension grade as needed. Keep the baler moving parallel and the path clear.
Step 4: Welding the straps. After pressing the friction button, the baler automatically seals and cuts straps. Time is preset but adjustable.
Step 5: Move away the baler. After bonding, lift the handle, run the feeding wheel in reverse to loosen straps, then move the baler away.
One Touch to Tension Mode
Step 1: Wrap and stack the straps. (Same as Semi-auto mode)
Step 2: Insert the straps into baler. (Same as Semi-auto mode)
Step 3: Tighten straps. Pressing the tension button and releasing it automatically tensions the straps.
Step 4: Welding the straps. (Same as Semi-auto mode)
Step 5: Move away the baler. (Same as Semi-auto mode)
5. Electrical Connections

6. Wear Parts Replacement & Bonding State Adjustment
Note: Disconnect power and remove batteries before servicing.
6.1 Wear Parts Replacement
Cutter (JD-PSE-G016): Loosen left cover plate screw, remove cutter, install in reverse order.
Lower Toothed Plate (JD-PSE-G011): Remove screws, replace toothed plate, assemble in reverse.
Tension Wheel (JD-PSE-G012): Remove left cover plate, nut, and tension wheel cover. Replace restraining wheel, assemble in reverse.
Lower Friction Part (JD-PSE-G013): Loosen headless screws, push out lower friction part from bottom, replace, assemble in reverse.
6.2 Tightening, Bonding and Cutting Adjustments
1. If tightening slips: Loosen tooth plate screws, install gasket to raise tooth plate or replace tooth plate.
2. Belt thickness adjustment (0.4-1.2MM): Adjust gap between upper and lower friction parts to prevent poor welding. Remove left cover, loosen sealing button, fix compression shaft, turn nut clockwise (larger gap) or counterclockwise (smaller gap).
3. Bonding time and tightening force: Adjusted via digital display windows E (fusion time) and F (tightening force, grades 1-9).
4. Refer to the following chart for wear part replacement and bonding/welding time adjustment.
Diagram description: Shows internal components like Tension wheel (JD-PSE-G012) and Cutter (JD-PSE-G016).

Friction time is too short: [Visual representation of an incomplete weld]
Friction time is too long: [Visual representation of an over-melted weld]
8. Common Electrical Faults
If the baler jams and the LED shows red (belt stuck): Immediately turn off power, cut straps, remove stuck straps. Charge or replace the battery. If the fault persists with a charged battery, remove plastic covers to check switches, wiring, or replace the micro switch or sealing motor.
