AUTOMATED INSULIN DELIVERY SYSTEM
Switching to a new Omnipod 5 device

Switching to a new Omnipod 5 device will require you to go through First Time Setup again. This guide will explain how Pod adaptivity works and show you how to find your current settings for use in your new device.
Pod Adaptivity
In Automated Mode, automated insulin delivery adapts to your changing needs based on your insulin delivery history. SmartAdjustTM technology will automatically update your next Pod with information from your last few Pods about your recent total daily insulin (TDI). Insulin delivery history from previous Pods will be lost when you switch to your new device and adaptivity will start over. · Starting with your first Pod on your new device, the System will estimate your TDI by looking at your
active Basal Program (from Manual Mode) and set a starting baseline called the Adaptive Basal Rate from that estimated TDI. · The insulin delivered in Automated Mode may be more or less than the Adaptive Basal Rate. The actual insulin delivery amount is based on current glucose, predicted glucose, and trend. · At your next Pod change, if at least 48 hours of history was collected, SmartAdjust technology will start using your actual insulin delivery history to update the Adaptive Basal Rate. · At each Pod change, for as long as you use your device, updated insulin delivery information is sent and saved in the Omnipod 5 App so that the next Pod that is started is updated with the new Adaptive Basal Rate.
Settings
Find your current settings using the instructions below and log them on the table provided on the last page of this guide. Once the settings are identified, complete First Time Setup by following the on-screen instructions in the Omnipod 5 App. If you are wearing a Pod, you will need to remove and deactivate it. You will start a new Pod as you go through First Time Setup.
