CAUTION! This scale weighs approximately 130 pounds. If you think it is too heavy for you to lower or lift safely, ask someone to help you. Damage to the load cells can occur if the scale is dropped or allowed to fall from the transport position. If damage to the scale is determined to have been caused by falling or dropping scale, the warranty will be voided.
Scale Setup
DO NOT remove Storage Pin or operate Column Release Lever prior to this operation.
- From transport position, lay scale flat on the floor. DO NOT use scale on carpeted floors.
- Stand close to scale with your feet 8 to 12 inches apart, and firmly grasp handles on scale.
- While stepping back, lower scale to floor, keeping your back straight and bending your knees until you're in a squatting position. Always keep your back straight, and bend at the knees, until in a squatting position!
- Once scale is in position on the floor, remove the Storage Pin ?.
The scale is shown in its transport position, lying flat. A prominent warning symbol reads 'DO NOT DROP! ⚠️'. The Storage Pin ? and Release Lever ⚙️ are identified, with a crucial instruction: 'DO NOT remove Storage Pin or operate Column Release Lever until scale is in position on floor.'
Next, pull Release Lever ⚙️ on column up toward indicator to release column from scale base.
Grasp handlebars and lift column away from scale base.
Step forward to push column forward until it is completely up-right and in the locked position. Listen for a clicking sound ? to make sure the column is locked in the up-right position.

WARNING! Only the attendant may move the stretcher or wheelchair on and off the scale platform. Attendant must assist patient onto and off the scale platform. NEVER leave a patient unattended while they are on the scale platform. Failure to maintain control of the patient at all times can result in serious injury to you and/or the patient.
Stretcher Scale Operation
- To weigh patient, press the ON/OFF key, and then press the ZERO key to zero the weight display.
- Position the patient on scale by pushing the stretcher onto scale. Lock the stretcher wheels while weighing the patient.
- When the weight reading is steady, read the patient's weight.
- Remove the patient/stretcher from scale by pushing down the opposite ramp.
Instructions for weighing a patient on a stretcher: Push ➡️ the stretcher onto the scale platform, lock the stretcher wheels ✔️, and read the patient's weight when the reading is stable. The patient/stretcher is removed by pushing down the opposite ramp ⬇️.
Wheelchair Operation
- To weigh patient, press the ON/OFF key, and then press the ZERO key to zero the weight display.
- Position the patient on scale by pulling wheelchair onto scale. Lock the wheelchair wheels ✔️ while weighing the patient. NEVER PUSH a patient in a wheelchair on or off scale.
- When the weight reading is steady, read the patient's weight.
- Remove the patient/wheelchair from the scale by backing down the ramp ⬅️.
Instructions for weighing a patient in a wheelchair: Pull ⬅️ the wheelchair onto the scale platform, lock the wheelchair wheels ✔️, and read the patient's weight when the reading is stable. Crucially, NEVER push a patient in a wheelchair on or off the scale. The patient/wheelchair is removed by backing down the ramp ⬇️, with an arrow indicating the 'Direction of Travel'.
Storing the Scale
- Pull Release Lever ⚙️ on column up towards the indicator to release column from the operating position.
- Grasp handlebars and step backward to lower column until it is completely against scale base.
- Press down on handlebars and listen for a “clicking” sound ? to make sure the column is locked in storage/transport position.
- Insert Storage Pin ? in scale before lifting or moving scale.
- Store scale flat on floor, preferably near a wall for maximum protection against damage.

To store the scale, pull the Release Lever ⚙️ upwards ⬆️ to unlock the column. Grasp the handlebars and step backward to lower the column until it is flat against the base. Press down on the handlebars to ensure the column is locked in the storage/transport position, confirmed by a 'clicking' sound ?. Insert the Storage Pin ? before lifting or moving the scale.
