Installation Guide

Introduction
Avigilon provides an optional 10G Base-T Kit for the NVR6 Premium Plus Form H and AI NVR 2 Premium Plus Form H 200-440 TB. This kit provides two high-speed Ethernet ports for faster connections to your security network of ACC Servers and Clients.
IMPORTANT: A CAT6 or higher rated cable is needed to utilize 10G speeds using the 10G Base-T card.
Confirm Package Contents
Confirm that the kit you are installing contains the following components:
- 1 × 2-port 10G Base-T OCP3 Adapter
Recommended Tools
The following tools are not included in the kit package, but are needed to complete the installation:
- Wrist-grounding strap connected to the ground
- ESD Mat
IMPORTANT: It is recommended that you always use an antistatic mat and antistatic strap while working on components inside the system.
- T-25 Torx screwdriver
- T-10 screwdriver
Installing the 10G Base-T Kit
NOTE: If the NVR is an operating part of your security system, be aware that it must be shut down to complete this procedure.
Before starting to install the kit:
- Turn off the NVR, including all attached peripherals.
- Disconnect the NVR from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
- Remove all network, power and peripheral cables from the NVR.
- If applicable, remove the system from the rack and place on a flat, level surface.
IMPORTANT: Whenever you need to lift the system, get others to assist you. To avoid injury, do not attempt to lift the system by yourself.
Opening the Cover
1. Remove the complete access panel.
- a. If necessary, unlock the access panel latch.
- b. Press the release button.
- c. Pull up the latch to disengage the access panel from the chassis.
- d. Slide the access panel toward the rear of the server and lift it from the chassis.
NOTE: Turn the access panel over to locate the server access panel label. This label provides convenient access to component identification, LED status indicators, and system maintenance switch settings information.
Installing the 10G Base-T Card in OCP Slot 2
With the NVR open:
- Unpack the 10G Base-T card.
- If expansion boards with internal cabling are installed on the center PCI riser cage, disconnect all internal cables from the expansion boards to remove the cage from the server.
- Remove the center PCI riser cage.
- Raise the blue release lever on the OCP slot. If an OCP card is present in this slot, remove it.
- Install the 10G Base-T card in the OCP slot 2:
- a. Remove the center OCP slot cover from the rear of the NVR.
- b. Slide the card into the OCP connector through the rear of the NVR.
- c. Insert the card edge connector firmly into the OCP card connector until the card is fully seated.
- d. After the card is installed, close the blue release lever to lock the card in place.
- Reinstall the OCP fan board and PCI riser cage into the NVR and reconnect any internal cables from the expansion boards.
Reattaching the Cover
When all the components of the kit have been installed:
- Ensure all expansion card latches are closed and there are filler covers for all empty slots.
- Close and lock the NVR access panel.
- If the NVR was rack mounted and removed to install the kit, remount it into the rack.
- Reconnect all the peripherals and cables.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that both of the 1000W power supplies are connected to main power. The upgraded NVR requires both power supplies to properly function.
- Power on the NVR.
Confirming the Installation
From an ACC Client running on a workstation with a network connection to the ACC site associated with the NVR:
- Log in to ACC site.
- Click [menu icon] in the menu bar and scroll down and click Site Setup.
- In the Search panel, click [search icon] to expand the site containing the NVR in which the 10G card is installed.
- Navigate to (or search for) the upgraded NVR and click [arrow icon].
- Verify that the NVR has one additional 10G adapter with two ports available:
- a. In the System Explorer, select the upgraded NVR server.
- b. In the New Task menu, click Site Health.
- c. Under the Network Adapters heading, there should be two new ports installed in OCP Slot 2. These new ports should have a Link Speed of 10Gbps.
NOTE: If Site Health does not show the expected 10G ports, repeat the instructions in Installing the 10G Base-T Kit on page 5 to power off the NVR and open the cover. Confirm that the 10G Base-T card is installed according to the instructions in Installing the 10G Base-T Card in OCP Slot 2 on page 7 and are fully seated in OCP Slot 2.
