Delta Electronics UNOnext WiFi Troubleshooting
Version: V20220225
Introduction to WiFi Capability
The UNOnext device is available in two versions: with WiFi and without WiFi. To determine if your UNOnext has WiFi capability, check the product number (e.g., UNO-**R, UNO-**B, UNO-**W) on the label on the back of the unit or on its packaging. Only UNOnext models with product numbers formatted as UNO-**W (such as UNO-6SW or UNO-9SW) feature WiFi capability. For instance, the UNO-7TR model does not have WiFi functionality.
Device Labeling:
Product labels on the back of the UNOnext and the box provide essential information including Product No., Model No., input voltage, manufacturing date, weight, and origin (Made in Taiwan). Contact details for Delta Electronics, Inc. are also typically included.
Troubleshooting WiFi Connection Issues
If your UNOnext, which has WiFi capability, is not transmitting data to the cloud or displaying real-time/historical data in UNOweb or the UNOnext App, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
2.4GHz WiFi Only: The UNOnext exclusively supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks. Ensure you are not using a 5GHz-only WiFi access point or router.
Power Cycle: Try reconnecting the power to your UNOnext device.
Check WiFi Connection: If data is still not visible in UNOweb or the UNOnext App after the above steps, verify the WiFi connection using the following indicators:
WiFi Power LED (Rear): Located on the back of the UNOnext, this red LED should be illuminated when the device is powered on. If this LED is not lit, the device may require repair.
WiFi Status Light (Front): The light on the front of the UNOnext indicates the WiFi connection status. If this light is on, the UNOnext is successfully connected to a WiFi access point. If it is off, you may need to reset the UNOnext's WiFi settings.
UNOnext App WiFi Indicator: Within the UNOnext App, the WiFi indicator is displayed in a colored square. A green square typically indicates the app is guiding you. A blue indicator signifies an established data connection with visible signal strength. If the indicator is gray, it suggests resetting the UNOnext's WiFi settings.
Connect to Alternative WiFi: Configure the UNOnext to connect to a different, functional WiFi access point or router. This could include a mobile hotspot shared from a phone or tablet.
Steps to Reset WiFi Settings
Follow these steps to set up or reset the WiFi connection for your UNOnext:
Download and Install App: Obtain and install the UNOnext application by scanning the provided QR codes (one for iOS, one for Android). These codes direct you to the respective app stores.
App Setup: Open the UNOnext app and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Upon first opening the app, a guide will display.
- Tap the WiFi indicator to access the WiFi settings page. If the UNOnext is not yet bonded, the app will guide you through the bonding process. You can also access the guide by pressing a specific button.
- Enter your WiFi password on the displayed page and send it to the UNOnext. For iOS, ensure your phone is connected to the target WiFi network first. For Android, you may be able to scan and select the WiFi access point.
- Once the WiFi settings are validated, the UNOnext will establish a connection to the cloud.
