Qiyi Smart Cube QYSC-S/QYSC-A: Quick Start Guide

I. Read Before Use

Thank you for choosing Qiyi Smart Cube. Welcome to the era of smart cubing!

  • This product contains built-in sensors to track cube dynamics. The positions of each face's center cover are fixed; DO NOT EXCHANGE THEM.
  • A white face with a red light constantly on for 4 seconds, or a battery level below 10%, indicates the battery is low. Replace the battery promptly.
  • When replacing the battery, install each center core in the printed order.
  • Be careful not to damage the center core end conductive device during battery replacement.

Please read carefully and keep this manual for future reference.

Equipment Requirements: Devices with iOS 12.0 and above, Android 6.0 and above, Bluetooth 4.0 and above.

V. Connect the Cube

  1. Log in to your Smart Player account. New users can use a mobile phone number or email to receive a verification code to log in.
  2. Wake up the cube: Turn any side of the cube. A red light will flash on the white side for 4 seconds to wake up the cube.
  3. Click the "Connect Cube" button in the app and follow the prompts to connect.

Ensure that the Bluetooth function and location services of the mobile phone have been turned on and authorized for use.

VI. Cube Setting

  1. Adjusting Axis Distance

Open the center cover and turn the adjusting piece counterclockwise with your fingers to change the axis distance of the cube.

The number inside the circular hole of the adjusting piece represents the axis distance; the larger the number, the tighter the cube. There are 7 settings.

  2. Replacing Spare Springs

If you want to obtain stronger elasticity, you need to replace the spare spring.

    1. Remove the cube edge and corner pieces.
    2. Press and rotate the fixture by 90 degrees to remove it.
    3. Use a tool to pry off the elastic piece on the center.
    4. Replace the spring and buckle the elastic piece.
    5. Install the adjusting and fixing parts.
    6. Install the cube.

Note: The default spring has been tested to meet the needs of most people. It is recommended that only very professional cubers try to replace the spring.

VII. Please Note

  • Ensure that the Bluetooth function and location service of the mobile phone have been turned on and authorized for use.
  • After the cube is connected to the app, if there is no operation for 10 minutes, the cube will automatically disconnect from Bluetooth and enter a sleep state.
  • If the cube has been bound to an account, it needs to be reset locally before it can be bound and connected to another account.
  • Reset Method: Turn the white face of the cube continuously for 5 cycles (20 steps). The white face indicator light flashes for 4 seconds and remains on for 4 seconds, indicating successful reset.
  • If the white face red light is constantly on when waking up, it means the battery needs to be replaced.
  • Please follow the printed color sequence when replacing the battery, otherwise, it may result in the inability to solve the cube.
  • The Smart Cube is a precision electronic product. When replacing the battery, be sure not to damage the conductive device at the end of the central shaft, as this may result in product damage.
  • This product cannot be subjected to shock, water, or placed in an environment above 60°C.
  • This product contains small parts; please do not use it for children under 3 years old.
  • Please use the product strictly in accordance with the instructions to avoid equipment damage or personal injury due to improper operation.
  • Please replace both batteries at the same time to avoid mixing old and new batteries.

VIII. Battery Replacement

(This step must be performed by an adult)

A white face with a red light constantly on for 4 seconds or a battery level below 10% indicates that the battery is about to run out. To ensure performance, please replace the battery in a timely manner.

The replacement steps are as follows:

  1. Step 1: Disassemble

Disassemble the entire cube, remove the ball core, and use a small screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws on the ball shell.

[Diagram showing disassembly of the ball core and unscrewing screws]

  2. Step 2: Replace the Battery

Replace the two CR1632 batteries, noting the polarity: the two negative poles [-] should face the "negative" symbols on the bottom and top surfaces, and the two positive poles [+] should be in direct contact.

[Diagram showing battery polarity: convex surface is negative [-], plane is positive [+]]

[Diagram showing two 3V CR1632 batteries]

  3. Step 3: Reinstall Components

Reinstall the circuit board and six central axes.

Step 3a: Install the circuit board back (Note: There are connecting buckles on the circuit board and the ball bearing base that require orientation).

[Diagram showing alignment of circuit board buckle position with ball core base buckle position]

Step 3b: Install the central axes back in the order of the printed colors on the circuit board (Yellow, Green, Orange).

  4. Step 4: Assemble

Screw in the screws and assemble the entire cube.

Warning: This product contains a Button or Coin Cell Battery. A swallowed Button or Coin Cell Battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as two hours and lead to death. Dispose of used batteries immediately. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

IX. Troubleshooting

  1. APP cannot detect the cube?

    • Confirm cube power is sufficient.
    • Confirm the cube is in the awake state. Awakened cubes enter sleep state after 60 seconds if not connected.
    • Confirm Bluetooth function and location services are enabled and authorized on the phone.
    • If the cube is connected to other devices, disconnect it first.
    • Reset the cube locally (turn white face 5 times consecutively, or 20 steps) before connecting to a new account.
  2. The status of the cube is not synchronized with the APP display?

    • Confirm center pieces on each side are correct.
    • Reset the cube state via the app's reset function (reset to original state/reset to color).
    • Low battery may cause hibernation, preventing status sync. Replace the battery.
