03 Troubleshooting and Maintenance
The remote control does not work.

- Ensure batteries are installed with correct polarity (+/-).
- Point the remote directly at the TV from 5-6 ft (1.5-1.8 m).
- If using a Samsung Smart Remote (Bluetooth), ensure it is paired with the TV.
The cable box or satellite box remote control doesn't turn the TV on or off or adjust the volume.
- Program the cable/satellite remote to operate the TV. Refer to the cable/satellite box user manual for the SAMSUNG TV code.
The TV settings are lost after 5 minutes.
- The TV is in Retail Mode. Change the Usage Mode to Home Mode in the System Manager Menu (Settings > General > System Manager > Usage Mode > Home Mode).
Intermittent Wi-Fi
- Verify TV has a network connection (Settings > General > Network > Network Status).
- Ensure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
- Check the distance between the TV and the modem/access point (should not exceed 50 ft / 15.2 m).
- Reduce interference by turning off or not using other wireless devices.
- Ensure no physical obstacles are between the TV and the modem/access point.
- Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to reset your network circuit if necessary.
Video Apps problems (Youtube etc)
- Change the DNS setting to 8.8.8.8 (Settings > General > Network > Network Status > IP Settings > DNS Setting > Enter manually > DNS Server > 8.8.8.8 > OK).
- Reset Smart Hub (Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub).
Eco Sensor and Screen Brightness
The Eco Sensor automatically adjusts TV brightness based on room lighting to reduce power consumption. To disable this feature, navigate to Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.
If the screen appears too dark in a dimly lit room, the Ambient Light Detection feature might be active. Ensure the eco sensor, located at the bottom of the TV, is not obstructed, as this can reduce picture brightness.
Caring for the TV
After removing a sticker from the TV screen, residual debris may remain. Clean this debris before watching TV.
To prevent scratches on the exterior and screen, wipe carefully with a soft cloth. Avoid spraying water or liquids directly onto the TV, as this can cause failure, fire, or electric shock.
To clean the screen, turn off the TV and gently wipe smudges and fingerprints with a microfiber cloth. For the body or panel, use a microfiber cloth dampened with a small amount of water, then dry with a separate dry cloth. Do not apply excessive force to the panel. Never use flammable liquids like benzene or thinner, or harsh cleaning agents.
For stubborn smudges, lightly spray screen cleaner onto a microfiber cloth and then wipe the smudges.
