Before you use the product, read the following safety instructions:

- Do not expose the product to dripping or splashing. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the product.
- If liquid or water spills onto the product, switch it off immediately and contact your dealer.
- If using a mains-powered adapter, do not touch the product with wet hands.
- The internal battery is not user-replaceable. Do not expose the battery to excessive heat or naked flames. Ensure adequate ventilation and airflow around the product, particularly when charging. Dispose of the product in accordance with local environmental rules.
- Using the product in rooms or climates with high humidity and temperatures may cause condensation, which can damage the product. Use the product in moderate climates only.
- Do not use your product in extremely hot or cold temperatures. Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators or gas/electric fires. Do not expose your product to naked flames, such as lighted candles.
- To charge your product, connect it only to a supply source that meets the safety isolation requirements of EN 60065 or EN 60950-1 for an accessible safety extra low voltage circuit. Use either the supplied micro-USB cable or a suitably CE approved power adapter (not supplied) with the correct USB output rating.
- Power the product using an external 5V DC 1A power supply. The maximum output current is 1A, protected by an internal circuit.
- Before charging, ensure the available supply voltage corresponds with the required operational voltage of the product.
- Disconnect your product from the charging power supply if you will not use it for a long period (e.g., for holidays).
- Always unplug your product from the charging power supply before cleaning. When cleaning, do not use abrasive pads or cleaning solutions, as these may damage the product's surface.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove any screws. The product contains no user-serviceable parts. Product repairs should only be carried out by authorized personnel.
Hearing Safety:
? To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods. Consistent exposure to high volumes when using headphones can damage your hearing. Always check the volume level before inserting headphones. Use of headphones other than those supplied may lead to hearing damage, as the high volume warning on the device may be inaccurate. Use of headphones while operating a vehicle is not recommended and is illegal in some areas. If listening to the radio is distracting while operating a vehicle or performing an activity requiring full attention, stop listening.
Operation and Controls
Product Overview
The BERGSTROM H300 DAB Radio features the following controls and indicators:
- 1. LCD Display: Shows station information, menus, and settings.
- 2. Preset Button: Used for storing and recalling preset stations.
- 3. Volume + Button: Increases the volume.
- 4. Next Button: Navigates forward through lists or changes frequency.
- 5. Select Button: Confirms selections or options.
- 6. Menu/Info Button: Accesses menus or displays additional information.
- 7. Scan Button: Initiates a scan for radio stations.
- 8. Previous Button: Navigates backward through lists or changes frequency.
- 9. DAB/FM Button: Switches between DAB and FM modes.
- 10. Volume - Button: Decreases the volume.
- 11. Power/Lock Button: Turns the radio on/off and locks/unlocks buttons.
- 12. Reset Button: Resets the device (requires a paper clip).

Connections
The radio has the following ports on the side:
- 1. 3.5mm headphone socket: For connecting headphones.
- 2. Micro-USB socket: For charging the device.
Charging Your DAB Radio
- Connect the supplied micro-USB cable to the micro-USB port on the radio.
- Connect the other end of the micro-USB cable to a power outlet using a USB power adapter (not supplied). Alternatively, you can charge the battery by connecting the DAB Radio to a computer's USB port.
Switching On for the First Time
Before switching on for the first time, charge the battery for at least 8 hours.
- Connect the headphones into the headphone socket. The headphones also serve as the aerial.
- Slide the Power/Lock switch into the ON position, then release the switch. The DAB radio will switch on and begin tuning to digital radio stations. After the auto-tune is complete, you can start listening.
Locking and Unlocking DAB Buttons
You can lock the buttons to prevent accidental presses.
- To lock the buttons: Slide the Power/Lock switch into the LOCK position.
- To unlock the buttons: Slide the Power/Lock switch into the middle position.
When the radio is switched off, locking the buttons prevents accidental activation.
Mode Button & Switching Between DAB/FM
- The first time the DAB Digital Radio is switched on, it will start in DAB mode.
- If the radio is in DAB mode, press the MODE button repeatedly until FM is shown on the display.
- Once in FM mode, the radio will tune to the start of the available FM range (87.50MHz) or the last FM station listened to.
- To manually change the FM frequency, ensure no other sub-menus are selected. Turn the TU+/- controls to change the frequency by 0.05MHz.
Changing DAB Display Information
- In DAB mode, press the MENU/INFO button to select different information to display, such as DLS (Dynamic Label Segment), signal strength, PTY (Programme Type), ensemble, frequency, signal quality, bit rate, codec, time, and date.
- In FM mode, press the MENU/INFO button to select different information to display, such as radio text, PTY (Programme Type), PS (Programme Service), stereo/mono, time, and date.
DAB Mode - Choosing Menu Options
In DAB mode, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter the menu list. Use the Next/Previous buttons to navigate options and the SELECT button to confirm.
Menu Options:
- Full Scan: Select "Full scan" and press SELECT to initiate a scan for all available DAB stations. The radio will then return to the previously selected station or the first station on the list. If no stations are found, "No DAB Station" will be displayed. Perform a full scan again in a different location for better reception if needed.
- Manual Tune: Select "Manual tune" and press SELECT. Then use Next/Previous buttons to select a particular channel/frequency and press SELECT to confirm. The display will show a live indication of the received signal strength. Adjusting the antenna will affect the displayed signal strength.
- Prune: This option removes invalid stations indicated by a '?' in the station list. Select "Prune", press SELECT, then select <Yes> and press SELECT to confirm.
- System: Accesses system-related settings.
System Menu Options (DAB Mode)
- Time: The radio can automatically update the time from DAB signals. If no signal is available, time can be set manually. Options include setting time/date, auto-update preferences (Any, DAB, FM, No update), 12/24 hour format, and date format (DD-MM-YYYY/MM-DD-YYYY).
- Backlight: Adjust the display backlight timeout. Select "Backlight" from the system menu, press SELECT, then use Next/Previous buttons to choose Medium, High, or Low brightness, and press SELECT to confirm.
- Factory Reset: This function clears all user-defined settings (time, date, preferences, DAB station list, presets) and restores original default values. Select "Factory Reset", press SELECT, then choose <Yes> and press SELECT to start the reset.
- Software Version: Displays the current software version of the radio. Select "Software version" from the system menu and press SELECT to confirm.
FM Mode - Choosing Menu Options
In FM mode, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter the menu list. Use Next/Previous buttons to navigate and SELECT to confirm.
Menu Options:
- Scan Setting: By default, FM scans stop at any available station. Options include "Strong stations only" or "All stations". Select an option and press SELECT to confirm.
- Audio Setting: By default, stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak stations, audio quality may improve using mono. Options include "Stereo allowed" or "Forced mono". Select an option and press SELECT to confirm. The setting changes automatically after 3 seconds.
- System: Accesses system-related settings (similar to DAB mode).
Preset Button
The Preset button allows you to store up to 10 DAB stations and 10 FM favourite stations.
Storing a Station to the Preset List:
- Select your desired radio station.
- Press and hold the PRESET button for a few seconds until the LCD displays "Preset store #: (Empty)" or "#: saved radio station".
- Press the Next/Previous button to select your desired station preset number.
- Push the SELECT button to confirm your selection. The display will show "Preset # Stored".
Recalling a Station from the Preset List:
- Press the "PRESET" button once.
- Rotate the Next/Previous button to select the desired preset number.
- Push the SELECT button to confirm.
Note: If a selected preset has not been allocated a station, "Empty" will be displayed.
Next/Previous Button Usage
- In DAB mode, press Next/Previous buttons to cycle through the radio station list or through the menu list for options.
- In FM mode, press Next/Previous buttons to manually adjust the frequency by 0.05MHz. You can also press and hold TU+/- for auto-scan or press Next/Previous to cycle through the menu list for options.
VOLUME +/- Button
Turn the Volume dial to increase or decrease the volume.
Performing a Battery Reset
If the controls stop responding, perform a battery reset. Use a paper clip to press the reset button located on the side of the radio.
BATTERIES
- Keep batteries away from children and pets.
- Do not mix used and new batteries.
- Remove batteries if the device is left for long periods.
- Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
- Spent or expired batteries must be properly disposed of and recycled in compliance with local regulations. For detailed information, contact your local authority.
