Using with TV
Connecting the Transmitter to the TV
The transmitter requires a power source. Connect it to a power outlet using the provided USB adapter and power cable.
You can connect the transmitter to your TV using one of three audio output options: Optical, 3.5mm AUX, or RCA.
Option 1 - Optical Output (Recommended)
Insert the included optical audio cable into the TV's DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) port, then connect the other end to the transmitter's optical port.
Diagram shows a TV connected via optical cable to the transmitter.
Note: Most TVs only support one digital output. If the TV's HDMI ARC port is in use, the optical port may be disabled. Alternative solutions include disconnecting HDMI ARC or using RCA/AUX connections.
Option 2 - 3.5mm AUX Output
Connect the included 3.5mm AUX audio cable to the TV's AUX output port, then connect the other end to the transmitter's AUX port.
Diagram shows a TV connected via 3.5mm AUX cable to the transmitter.
Option 3 - RCA Output
Connect an RCA adapter (not included) to the 3.5mm AUX audio cable. Then connect the RCA ends to the TV's AUDIO OUT ports and the 3.5mm end to the transmitter's AUX port.
Diagram shows a TV connected via RCA adapter and 3.5mm AUX cable to the transmitter.

- Step 1: On the headphones, slide the ON/OFF switch to ON. The LED indicator should flash blue ?.
- Step 2: Ensure the transmitter is powered on (slide its ON/OFF switch to ON). The LED indicator should flash blue ?.
- Step 3: Keep the headphones and transmitter close together. They should connect within 3-5 seconds. The LED indicators on both the headphones and the transmitter will turn solid blue ?.
Diagrams illustrate the LED indicators on headphones and transmitter during pairing.
TV Settings (for Optical Connection)
If you connected the TV via the Optical output, you may need to configure your TV's audio settings.
- Step 1: Using your TV remote, press the SETTINGS button and navigate to the AUDIO settings menu. (Menu names may vary by TV brand).
- Step 2: Go to AUDIO OUTPUT and select "OPTICAL / DIGITAL OUT". Many TVs do this automatically; skip this step if not applicable.
- Step 3: Set the Audio Output format to "PCM / STEREO" ON or "DOLBY" OFF.
If you have difficulty finding these settings, you can scan the QR code related to your TV brand or visit avantree.com/ensemble/tv-audio-settings for a detailed guide.
Note 1: Some smart TVs automatically reset after a system update. Ensure the audio output/input format is set to PCM, not AUTO or Dolby.
Note 2: When watching Netflix or Amazon Prime, you may need to start the movie before switching to PCM.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Here are answers to common questions encountered during setup and use:
Q: My Samsung/LG TV headphones cannot reconnect to the transmitter. Why?
Smart TVs from Samsung/LG tend to auto-pair with any discoverable Bluetooth device, which can interfere with Avantree headphones reconnecting to the transmitter. Try the following steps:
- Reject Device: If your TV prompts you to allow or reject/block a device connection, you MUST reject/block it.
- Remove Device: If the device is already paired with the TV, remove it from the TV's settings: SETTINGS > GENERAL > EXTERNAL DEVICE MANAGER > CONNECTED DEVICES MANAGER > DEVICE LIST > MODIFY > Select all Avantree devices > DELETE. (The exact path may vary by TV brand/model).
- Turn Off TV: Physically turn off the TV or unplug it. Using the remote only puts the TV in standby mode, which still allows it to connect to devices.
Q: Can I listen to audio through the TV speakers and headphones simultaneously?
This functionality depends on whether your TV supports outputting audio to two sources simultaneously. It is not related to the transmitter. The transmitter receives audio from the TV's output and transmits it to the headphones or wireless speakers. You may need to experiment with different settings to check your TV's capability. Q: Why don't I hear sound when watching Netflix/Amazon Prime? / My headphones are not connecting to the transmitter?
