GRP260x Package Content Note Check the package before installation. If you find anything missing, contact your system administrator. Connecting and Setting Up the GRP260x The GRP260x phones can be installed on the desktop using the phone stand or attached on the wall using the slots for wall mounting. phone Stand and Mounting Slots on the GRP260x Using the Phone Stand To install the phone on the table with the phone stand, attach the phone stand to the bottom of the phone through the phone stand slot. (Upper half, bottom part). Using the Slots for Wall Mounting 1. Attach the wall mount spacers to the slot for wall mount spacers on the back of the phone. 2. Attach the phone to the wall via the wall mount hole. 3. Pull out the tab from the handset cradle (See figure below). 4. Rotate the tab and plug it back into the slot with the extension up to hold the handset while the phone is mounted on the wall (see figure below). Tab on the Handset Cradle Connecting the GRP260x To set up the GRP2600, follow the steps below: 1. Connect the handset and main phone case with the phone cord. 2. Connect the LAN port of the phone to the RJ-45 socket of a hub/switch or a router (LAN side of the router) using the Ethernet cable. 3. Connect the PSU output plug to the power jack on the phone; plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet. If a PoE switch is used in step 2 (GRP2601P/GRP2602P/GRP2603P/GRP2604P only), this step could be skipped. 4. The LCD will display the Grandstream logo. Before continuing, please wait for the date/time display to show up. 5. Using the phone-embedded web server or keypad configuration menu, you can further configure the phone using either a static IP or DHCP. Connecting to Wi-Fi Network (GRP2601W and GRP2602W only) On the LCD menu, navigate to "Settings Wi-Fi settings" and enable Wi-Fi. Select "Wi-Fi Network" and GRP2601W/GRP2602W will automatically start scanning within the range. A list of Wi-Fi networks will be displayed. Select the desired network, and if required, enter the correct password to connect. Users can add and connect to a hidden network by accessing "Wi-Fi" Network" and then pressing on Add softkey enter the Network's information. . Then Notes: When the GRP2601W/GRP2602W is not connected to any network (including Ethernet and Wi-Fi), a prompt interface will pop up to notify users about it. Users can quickly enter the "Wi-Fi Network" page by pressing on the Wi-Fi softkey. For easy deployment, The GRP2601W/GRP2602W is preconfigured out of the box to connect to a default SSID named wp_master with a password (WPA/WPA2 PSK) equal to wp!987@dmin, users can adapt these settings from the web UI as well to make it easier for deployment on customer site. Admin authentication is required for LCD Menu Wi-Fi connections on GRP2601W/GRP2602W. Users can configure the PEAP 802.1x Settings from the LCD Menu. GRP260x Back Side View GETTING TO KNOW GRP260X Idle Screen GRP260x screen displays differently depending on whether the phone is idle or in use (active). The following figures show the idle screen of GRP260x. GRP260x Idle Screen The following table describes the items displayed on the GRP260x idle screen: Date and Time Network icon Status icon Line status indicator Softkeys in idle screen Softkeys in call screen Displays the current date and time. It can be synchronized with Internet time servers. Shows the status of network. It will indicate whether the network is down or starting. Shows the status of the phone for registration status, call features etc., using icons as shown in the next table. Displays the name of the account that is in use. The softkeys are context sensitive and will change depending on the status of the phone. Default functions assigned to softkeys are: Menu: Brings up the phone's main menu. History: Shows up the phone's call history. Contacts: Access local phonebook and groups. DND: Enable/Disable DND. Notes: 1. The Idle Screen Softkey can be customized under web UI > Programmable Keys > Idle Screen Softkeys > Custom Softkey Layout 2. Users can also customize the softkey bar style under System Settings > Preferences > Display Control The softkeys are context sensitive and will change depending on the call status of the phone. Here are the main softkeys in call screen. Dial: Dials the call out after off hook and entering the number. Answer Call softkey: Answers the incoming call when the phone is ringing. Reject Call softkey: Rejects the incoming call when the phone is ringing. End Call softkey: Ends the active call. Transfer softkey: Transfer softkey will show up after pressing TRAN button and entering transfer target number. Press Transfer softkey to do blind transfer. Switch softkey: In attended transfer mode, after establishing the second call, press on Switch softkey to switch between the two calls. GRP260x Keypad Buttons Configuration via Keypad To configure the LCD menu using the phone's keypad, follow the instructions below: Enter MENU options. When the phone is idle, press the round MENU button or Menu Softkey to enter the configuration menu. Navigate in the menu options. Press the arrow keys UP/DOWN keys to navigate in the menu options. Enter/Confirm selection. Press the round MENU to enter the selected option. Exit. Press Return Softkey to exit to the previous menu. Return to Home page. The MENU options are listed in the following table. Status Settings Displays account status, network status, software version number and Hardware: Network status: Press to enter the sub menu for IP setting information (DHCP/Static IP/PPPoE), IPv4 address, IPv6 address, MAC address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS and NTP servers. Account status: Shows Account registration status. System Status: Press to enter the sub menu for Hardware Information, Software version and IP Geographic Information. Settings sub menu contains the following options: Account Settings: Enable/Disable SIP account, Configures Account Name, SIP server's address, SIP User ID, SIP Auth ID, SIP Password, Outbound Proxy, and Voice Mail Access Number. Call Settings: Enable/Disable DND, Enable Disable Auto Answer for SIP account, Enable/Disable Call Forward (Forward All/Busy/No Answer). Basic Settings: Sounds: Configures account ringtone and adjusts volume settings by pressing left/right arrow key. Appearance: Configures the idle and active LCD brightness. Date and Time: Adjusts Time and Date displaying format. Time Zone: Choose your Time Zone from the list by scrolling with UP/DOWN keys. Messages Call History Contacts Language: Selects the language to be displayed on the phone's LCD. Users could select Automatic for local language based on IP location if available. By default, it is Auto. Keypad Lock: Enables/Disables Keypad lock. Users can choose the Keypad Lock type (All Keys/Functional keys) and set up the lock password. If users enabled Keypad lock without configuring a password; They can unlock the phone by pressing on the unlock softkey. Headset Type: Choose the headset type of the headset connect to the phone. Users could choose Normal, Plantronics EHS, Jabra EHS,VBeT EHS, Sennheiser EHS. Softkey bar style: Chooses the corresponding style to show icons , you can choose from four different styles. Input Method: Chooses to set the input method to be one of the following options: 123, abc, ABC, Ab2, and Q9 for both the contact input method and LDAP input method, you can define the input language too. Key Customization: In this option you can set the hotkey settings to be configured for short press setting, long press setting, or reset the hotkey settings, you can also customize the VPKs by choosing the mode of each VPK to be set to Intercom, conference , call park , speed dial, Transfer... Advanced Settings: Upgrade: Check for upgrade by contacting the firmware upgrade server. Sys Log: Configures Syslog level, Transport protocol and Syslog Server's address. Security: Enables disables Web and SSH access. Alternative Firmware: Press Switch/Convert softkey to switch between the dual firmware versions loaded to the phone. The phone will reboot with the chosen version. Language Download: Gives you the option to download the chosen language files or restore them from previous firmware versions, you can also set the update to be either manual or automatic , it manual by default. Ethernet Settings: Internet Protocol: Selects Prefer IPv4 / Prefer IPv6 / IPv4 only or IPv6 only. The default setting is "IPv4 only". IPv4 Settings: Selects IP mode (DHCP/Static IP/PPPoE); Configures PPPoE account ID and password; Configures static IP address, Netmask, Gateway, Preferred DNS server IPv6 Settings: Selects IP mode (DHCP/Static IP); Configures static IP address, IPv6 Prefix (64 bits), IPv6 Preferred DNS server. VLAN Settings: Enables CDP/LLDP, Configures LLDP TX interval, Enables Manual VLAN Configuration, Configures Layer 2 QoS 802.1q (VLAN ID/Priority). Reset Network settings: Resets the network configuration Wi-Fi Settings (GRP2602W only): Wi-Fi: Enables/disables Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi Band: Choose Wi-Fi band (2G , 5G or 2G&5G). Wi-Fi Network: Scans and displays available Wi-Fi networks. Contacts sub menu includes the following options: Local Phonebook Local Group LDAP User could configure phonebooks/groups options here, download phonebook XML to the phone and search and dial from the local phonebook and search and dial from LDAP phonebook. Factory Functions Factory Functions sub menu includes the following options: Audio Loopback: Speak to the phone using speaker/handset/headset. If you can hear your voice, your audio is working fine. Press Return Softkey to exit audio loopback mode. Keypad/Led Diagnosis: All LEDs will light up Press all the available keys on the phone. The LCD will display the name for the keys to be pressed to finish the keyboard diagnostic mode. Press Hook button to exit. Certification Verification: Verify the certificate loaded on the phone. UCM Detect Configures the IP address and port of the UCM on which the IP phone can be registered. Factory reset Performs a Factory reset on the phone. Reboot Reboots the phone. Press the Hook Switch to switch to the handset; press the Headset button to switch to headset mode, or press the Speaker button to switch to speaker. Multiple SIP Accounts and Lines The GRP2601 supports 2 SIP accounts and 2 lines; GRP2602 supports up to 4 SIP accounts with 2 line keys; GRP2603/GRP2604 supports up to 6 SIP accounts with 3 line keys. Each account is capable of independent SIP server, user, and NAT settings. In off-hook state, select an idle line and the dial tone will be heard. To make a call, select the line you wish to use. The corresponding LINE LED will light up in green. The user can switch lines before dialing any number by pressing the LINE buttons. Since the GRP260x can have more SIP accounts than the supported lines, the phone supports two line key modes; "Line mode" and "Account mode". The main difference between the two is that during calls each line key displays the status of a call line in "Line Mode"; while in "Account Mode", available accounts will be displayed in each line key, which is handy in case multiple accounts are using the same line, there will be also the Header and name/number displayed. The figures below show the examples and differences in call screens between the two modes: Line mode: Each line key is displaying the status of a call line Key mode configured as line mode Account mode: An available account is displayed in each Line key. Users can view the current line and the number of all lines in the upper right corner of the call interface. Key mode configured as account mode The key mode setting can be configured from the phone's Web GUI Phone Settings Call Settings. SIP URI Calls SIP URIs typically look like this: sip:username@domain.com. When you enter a SIP URI into the GRP260x, it will use the SIP protocol to connect to the specified SIP server or destination, allowing you to establish voice or video calls over the internet. Example: You have an IP phone in your office, and you want to call a colleague, John Doe, who is also using an IP phone, but he's located in a different office within your organization. John's SIP URI is sip:johndoe@companyvoip.com , on the GRP260x, instead of dialing a traditional phone number or an extension, you enter John's SIP URI into the dialing interface, which looks like sip:johndoe@companyvoip.com . Completing Calls There are several ways to complete a call. On-hook dialing. Enter the number when the phone is on hook and then send it out. 1. When the phone is idle, enter the number to be dialed out; 2. Take the handset off-hook, Press the Speaker button, or Press the Headset button with the headset plugged in. 3. The call will be dialed out. Off-hook and dial. Off-hook the phone, enter the number, and send it out. 1. Take handset off-hook; or Press the Speaker button; or Press the Headset button with the headset plugged in; or Press an available LINE key to activate the speaker. (The user can return to the idle screen after pressing again the activated Line key). 2. You shall hear a dial tone after off-hook; 3. Enter the number; 4. Press SEND or # keys to dial out. Predictive dialing. When dialing numbers, based on the entered digit, the phone will predict and list the candidates of the target number. If the target number is already saved in the phonebook or call history, when entering the first several digits, the phone will display a list of matching numbers. If the target number appears on the list, the user can select the number using the Up/Down key and dial out. GRP260x has a predefined call feature code (the first digit is *). When the user enters * as the first digit of the target number, the phone will list all the available feature codes. Redial. Redial the last dialed number. 1. Take handset off-hook; or Press the Speaker button; or Press the Headset button with the headset plugged in; or Press an available LINE key to activate the speaker; or When the phone is in an idle state; 2. Press the SEND key, and the last number called will be redialed. Via Call History. Dial the number logged in the phone's call history. 1. Press the MENU button to bring up the main menu then enter Call History; or 2. Press the "History" soft key when the phone is in an idle state; 3. Select the entry you would like to call using the navigation arrow keys; 4. Press SEND button to dial out. Via Phonebook. Dial the number from the phonebook. 1. Press the MENU button to bring up the main menu then enter Contacts; or 2. Press the "Contacts" soft key when the phone is in an idle state; 3. Enter Local / BS Phonebook using the navigation arrow keys; 4. Select the contact you would like to call Note Pressing the OK button to enter the contact details page , users can edit the phone number and choose which account to dial that number by clicking "Edit before dialing" soft key. 5. Press SEND button to dial the selected contact. Using a VPK/MPK key. Users can press a configured VPK/MPK to automatically place a call based on the selected key type: 1. Silent Call: Initiates a one-way call to a configured extension without any visual or audible indication on the caller's device. This feature is primarily intended for emergency or panic scenarios. In Silent Call mode: The device's microphone is activated and transmits audio to the called party. The speaker remains muted, meaning the caller hears no audio from the callee. Functional keys on the phone are locked during the call, except number keys, softkeys, and line keys. Only emergency numbers can be dialed during an active Silent Call session (manually or via VPK; MPK is restricted). Incoming calls are blocked. The Silent Call can only be ended by the callee. Triggering multiple Silent Calls in sequence will only activate the first. 2. Speed Dial: Dials a predefined number immediately. 3. Speed Dial via Active Account: Dials a predefined number using the currently active SIP account. 4. Call Return: Calls back the last missed call. 5. Redial: Calls the last dialed number. 6. Conference: Initiates a conference call by dialing a predefined extension. 7. Presence: Displays the monitored extension's presence status and dials when pressed. 8. BLF (Busy Lamp Field): Monitors an extension's status and dials it when pressed. Notes: After entering the number, the phone waits for the No Key Entry Timeout (Default timeout is 4 seconds, configurable via Web GUI) before dialing out. Press SEND or # key to override the No Key Entry Timeout; If digits have been entered after taking the handset off-hook, the SEND key will work as SEND instead of showing the history of Dialed extensions; (#) or (*) can be chosen as send keys from WEB GUI Accounts Account X Call Settings Key as Send. During an active call, users can see the call info on LCD: The call lasting time Contact information if the number is already saved in the phonebook. An alert tone is generated when the device is initiating a multicast paging and when receiving a multicast paging When a call is missed, a notification will appear on the LCD screen. Users can make outgoing calls without closing the missed call notification. Making Calls using IP Addresses Direct IP Call allows two phones to talk to each other in an ad-hoc fashion without a SIP proxy. VoIP calls can be made between two phones if: Both phones have public IP addresses; or Both phones are on the same LAN/VPN using private or public IP addresses; or Both phones can be connected through a router using public or private IP addresses (with necessary port forwarding or DMZ). To make a direct IP call, please follow the steps below: 1. Press Hook Switch/Speaker or Headset button to bring out the dialing screen. 2. Input the 12-digit target IP address (Please see the example below). 3. Press the "Dial" softkey to dial. Note When use direct IP call, "Use Random Port" option should be set to "No". For example: If the target IP address is 192.168.1.60 and the port is 5062 (i.e., 192.168.1.60:5062), input the following: 192*168*1*60#5062. The * key represents the dot (.), and the # key represents the colon (:). When only dialing the IP address (example: 192*168*1*60) the call will automatically go through the default port 5060. Answering Phone Calls Receiving Calls Single incoming call. The phone rings with the selected ring tone. The corresponding LINE key LED will flash in red for GRP2602(P/G/W)/GRP2603(P)/GRP2604(P) models,,the screen will indicate an incoming call as well. Answer call by taking handset off hook, or using Speaker/Headset, or pressing Answer softkey . Note If "Enable Incoming Call Indicator" option is enabled, the upper right corner LED indicator will light up for the GRP2603(P)/GRP2604(P), while the message waiting indicator LED will light up for GRP2602(P/G/W)/GRP2601(P/W), signaling that there is an incoming call. Multiple incoming calls When another call comes in while having an active call, the phone will produce a Call Waiting tone (stutter tone). The other LINE key will flash in red (GRP2602/GRP2603/2604). Answer the incoming call by pressing on the Answer softkey or the flashing LINE key in the case of GRP2602/GRP2603/GRP2604. The current active call will be put on hold automatically. Users can switch between the calls using the UP/DOWN keys. Do Not Disturb Do Not Disturb can be enabled/disabled from the phone's LCD by following the steps below: 1. Press the Menu button and navigate to "Settings Call Settings Do Not Disturb". 2. Use RIGHT/LEFT keys to disable/enable DND; 3. Press the "Save" softkey to save the change Users could also enable/disable DND quickly by pressing the Mute button or DND softkey . DND Icon will be displayed on the top right of the status bar indicating that DND is enabled. Incoming calls will not be accepted, or the call will directly go into voicemail. Notes: The mute button function can be set also to idle Mute instead of DND or be disabled under the web GUI option Phone Settings Call Settings Mute Key Function While Idle. During an active call, press the MUTE button to mute/unmute the microphone. The LCD will show the Mute icon on the top of the screen when the call is muted. Add Contact to Block list If the contact number belongs to the Block list group, the call from that number will always be blocked. Users can add a contact to the block list by accessing the local phonebook and selecting the contact in question and then pressing on the block list softkey , A confirmation message "Add this contact to Block list?" will be displayed on the screen, the contact will be added to the block list by pressing on the "Save" softkey. To unblock a contact, users need to select the contact in question from the phonebook and then press on unblock softkey . During a Phone Call Call Waiting/Call Hold Users can place a call on hold by pressing the HOLD softkey during an ongoing call. The active LINE key will blink in green (GRP2602/GRP2603/GRP2604). The call can be resumed by pressing on the Hold softkey again. When there is a new call, the call screen will display the new incoming call information, and the Call waiting tone (stutter tone) will be audible during the active call, Use the UP/DOWN keys to switch between the two calls screens. Users can choose whether to answer the new call using the Answer softkey , Reject the call using the Reject softkey , forward the call using the Transfer/Forward softkey or mute /silence the call using the silence softkey . When silence softkey is pressed, the call waiting tone will be muted. Notes: If "On Hold Reminder Tone" is Enabled under web GUI "Account X Advanced settings then a reminder tone will be played to notify the user that he has a call on hold. If the "Enable call Waiting" Option is set to NO on WEB GUI under Account X Call Settings the second incoming call will be rejected. Mute During an active call, press the MUTE button icon on the top of the screen when the call is muted. to mute/unmute the microphone. The LCD will show the Mute Call Transfer GRP2601/GRP2602/GRP2603/GRP2604 supports Blind Transfer and Attended Transfer: Blind Transfer. 1. During an active call, press the TRANSFER button , or the icon to display more softkeys then press the transfer softkey . 2. Dial Transfer destination number. 3. Press Transfer softkey to complete transfer of the active call. Attended Transfer. 1. During an active call, press the TRANSFER button ,or the icon to display more softkeys then press the transfer softkey 2. Dial Transfer destination number and press on dial softkey. 3. The first call will be put on hold and a new call will be initiated with the transfer destination. 4. When the second call is answered, Users could press on the Switch softkey to switch to the initial call (The second call will be put on hold) or press on transfer softkey to complete the transfer. Notes: To transfer calls across SIP domains, SIP service providers must support transfer across SIP domains. When the" Hold Call before Completing Transfer" Option is set to "No" on the WEB GUI, the phone will neither hold the current call in the transfer window nor hold the call with the transfer target before referring the call in the attended transfer. The Attended Transfer can be finished by on-hooking the phone. Call Forwarding When there is an incoming call, users could choose to not take the call and forward it to another number instead by pressing on the Forward /Transfer softkey and then dial the forward target number and press on again, the call will be then immediately forwarded to that number. Note Call forward icon is displayed when enabled via feature code with "Feature key sync" is enabled. Call Park Call Park is a feature that allows users to put an ongoing call on hold and retrieve it from any another extension. The GRP260x series supports Call Park via VPKs/MPKs as well as Enhanced Call Park using Softkeys. Call Park using Virtual Multi-Purpose Keys/Multi-Purpose Keys 1. To add a Parking Lot, login to the UCM, go to Call Features Parking Lot and click on the button For this example, we're using the default Parking Lot of the UCM which is "700" The UCM Default Parking Lot 2. To configure the call park VPK/MPK, go to the corresponding Programmable Keys page and choose "CallPark" in Mode and enter the Parking Lot under Value. Call Park VPKMPK 3. During an ongoing call, press the configured VPK/MPK to park the call. Parking Ongoing Call Call Parked Successfully 4. Once the call is successfully parked, users can either retrieve the call by dialing the correct Parking Slot or by configuring a VPK/MPK to monitor specific parking slots.This can be done by accessing the corresponding Programmable Keys page and choosing "Monitored Call Park" in Mode and entering the Parking Slot number under Value. Monitored Call Parks VPKMPK 5. After the call is parked, the Monitored Call Park VPK/MPK LED indicator turns solid red and the remote extension appears on the LCD screen (for VPK only). Users can press the configured key to pick up the parked call. Available Parked Call Enhanced Call Park To activate the Enhanced Call Park Softkey, users need to access the phone's Web UI and go to Phone Settings Call Settings Enhanced Call Park Feature Enable Call Park Softkey : used to enable/disable the call park related softkeys. Call Park Softkey Feature Code : this feature access code is used to park an ongoing call to an extension or a parking lot. Call Park Retrieve Softkey Feature Code : this code allows the user to retrieve a parked call from an account or a parking lot. Group Call Park Softkey Feature Code : configures the feature access code to park an ongoing call to the group current user is in. For this example, we configured all the GRP260x phones with the Feature Codes shown in the screenshot above. 1. During an ongoing call, click on the Call Park softkey. Call Park Softkey During Ongoing Call 2. A new prompt screen will appear to enter an extension to which the call is going to be parked. In this example, we will park the call directly to extension 1003. Call Park Screen 3. Press the Call Park softkey again and the below message should appear to confirm the transaction. Call Parked Successfully 4. On the remote extension, a window will show up to notify the user of the parked call (only for phones that support the Enhanced Call Park feature). The user can access the list of parked calls by pressing the softkey. Parked Call Notification Parked Calls List 5. To retrieve the parked call, the user needs to dial the Retrieve Feature Code followed by their extension. In this scenario the Feature Code is *88 and the extension number is 1003. Parked Call Retrieved Establish Conferencing calls The GRP260x can host up to 5 conference calls. Initiate a conference call. 1. Establish the first call. 2. While 1 call is active, press on conference Invite softkey and dial the second conference number. 3. The conference will be established as soon as the dialed number answers the call. Place the paper label in the groove of the phone. 2. Bend the plastic film so that the protruding points on the left and right sides snap into the grooves to complete the installation. 3. If you want to take it out, use a nail or thin card to move the slit on one side of the film to bend it and then take it out. Select an account and check the number of Normal/Urgent voicemails displayed on the screen. make operations according to the voice prompt. DIAGNOSIS Users could access the factory functions menu to diagnose the phone's hardware/software. To do so please access to LCD menu under Factory Functions. Factory Functions These tools can be used to check the hardware and software status of the phone like verifying the LED, keypad buttons, Microphone/speaker functionality, certificate verification ...etc. EHS HEADSET The GRP260x supports a normal RJ9 headset jack (allowing EHS with Plantronics & Jabra & Sennheiser headsets). Connect EHS Headset (Plantronics) to the GRP260x. To use headset mode, press the headset button on the phone. A headset icon will show on the status bar. The EHS headset will ring when there is an incoming call. RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS Warning Restoring the Factory Default Settings will delete all configuration information on the phone. Please backup or print all the settings before you restore to the factory default settings. Grandstream is not responsible for restoring lost parameters and cannot connect your device to your VoIP service provider. Restore factory settings using the LCD menu Please follow the instructions below to reset the phone: 1. Press the MENU button to bring up the keypad configuration menu. 2.
