Smart DIN Relay Installation Manual
Version 1.0
Product Description
The Smart DIN Relay is a DIN rail unit with a built-in relay. It communicates via Zigbee, enabling control of groups of home appliances rather than individual appliances. The Smart DIN Relay also features built-in power metering functionality, allowing monitoring of the power consumption for each group of appliances. It aims to increase awareness of energy consumption and waste, with all data logged and transmitted to a data concentrator.
Precautions
- WARNING: Electrical equipment should only be installed, accessed, serviced, and maintained by qualified electrical personnel. Working with high voltage is potentially lethal and can cause severe injuries such as cardiac arrest or burns. Always disconnect the power supply before starting installation.
- WARNING: For safety, it is recommended to install the equipment in an enclosure to prevent accidental contact with terminal blocks. Access should be restricted using a lock and key, controlled by qualified electrical personnel.
- WARNING: The Smart DIN Relay must always be protected by fuses on the incoming side.
- Be careful that no liquid gets into the Smart DIN Relay, as it may damage the equipment.
- Do not remove the product label, as it contains important information.
- Avoid switching maximum loads frequently on or off to ensure a long product life.
Getting Started
- Disconnect the main power supply by removing fuses from the main switch for the work area.
- Place the Smart DIN Relay onto the DIN rail and ensure it snaps securely into place.
- Strip the cable insulation to 5 mm. [Illustration shows a cable with approximately 5mm of insulation removed from the end.]
- Connect appropriate cables as shown in the "Wiring Diagram" section and tighten the screws to 0.8 Nm.
- Turn on the main power.
- The Smart DIN Relay will begin searching for a Zigbee network to join, which may take up to 15 minutes.
- Ensure the Zigbee network is open for joining devices and will accept the Smart DIN Relay.
- While searching, the LED indicator will flash red.
- When the LED stops flashing, the Smart DIN Relay has successfully joined the Zigbee network.
- The Smart DIN Relay's output is active when the green LED is on.
Wiring Diagram
The wiring diagram illustrates the connection points. Input terminals are labeled 'L' for Live and 'N' for Neutral, connecting to the 230V~ 50Hz power supply with a maximum rating of 16A. Output terminals are labeled 'OUT' and connect to the load, also supporting up to 16A. The operating temperature range is 0-50°C. [Illustration shows input L/N terminals, output OUT terminals, and load connection. Labels indicate N=Neutral, L=Live. Specifications: Input: 230V~ 50Hz, 16A. Output: 230V~ 50Hz, 16A. Temp: 0-50°C. Max Load: 16A.]
Connect the blue wire (Neutral) and brown wire (Live) to the 230VAC/50Hz input terminals.
Resetting
Resetting is necessary if you wish to connect your Smart DIN Relay to a different gateway, perform a factory reset to resolve abnormal behavior, or reset accumulative registers and logs.
Steps for Resetting
- Press and hold the button on the device.
- Continue holding the button until the red LED flashes continuously, then release the button.
- After releasing the button, the red LED will remain on for 2-5 seconds. During this period, do not switch off or unplug the device.
Fault Finding
- For a bad or weak signal, reposition your gateway or insert a Zigbee router as a range extender.
- If the gateway search times out, a short press on the button will restart the search.
Modes
- SEARCHING GATEWAY MODE: The red LED flashes every second.
- ON MODE: The green LED indicates the Smart DIN Relay output is active (relay is on). The relay can be switched on/off by pressing the button.
- OFF MODE: When the LED is off, the Smart DIN Relay output is inactive.
Other Information
- The Smart DIN Relay will automatically switch off if the load exceeds 16A or if the internal temperature becomes too high.
- In the event of a power failure, the device will restore its previous on/off status.
Disposal
Dispose of the product properly at the end of its life. This is electronic waste and should be recycled.
