Kit Components

This kit includes the following 14 items, each with a unique function to create the ideal environment for your chameleon:

How to Use Each Item

1) Enclosure

The enclosure is a customized white PVC unit with mesh screen on the back, front, and top for excellent airflow. Mount 3 branches using the branch holders (item 13). Hot glue each branch to its holder. An assembly video is available at www.vchams.com under the support page. For branches, source 15 branches of varying diameters (¼” to 0.5”) and lengths (24” to 48”) from a local park. Wash them with Dawn dishwashing soap to remove dirt and bugs. 2) WIFI Power Strip

Set timers for up to 3 electrical devices and 1 USB device (misting system) using the SmartLife phone app. Download the SmartLife App to begin the installation process. Select '+' to add a device.

Chameleon Kit Recommended Lights Schedule:

• UVB: 12 hours on, 12 hours off
• Basking lamp: 8 hours on, 8 hours off
• LED Plant growth: 4-6 hours on and 4-6 hours off, depending on your plants.

3) WIFI Temperature and Humidity Monitor

Use the Smartlife app to track your habitat's temperature and humidity. Slide the backplate downward to open the monitor and insert 2x AAA batteries. The LED in the front will flash when the device is ready to pair. In the Smartlife App, select '+' to add the device.

4) Misting System

Control misting duration and frequency by pressing the front two buttons on the misting pump. Holding down each button speeds up and cycles through selections. The third button manually starts and stops misting. The system is easy to set up without complex button sequences. A separate user manual for the misting system is included in the box. Place nozzles in all four corners of the enclosure. For aesthetic purposes, it is recommended to place two extra nozzles with brackets in the front corners. The two silver nozzles should be placed in the back. A larger water bucket reduces refill frequency; a 5-gallon home depot bucket is recommended as a water reservoir. To create holes for the nozzles, use the bracket as a guide to poke through the mesh and plastic. You can use scissors or pliers for this.

Recommended Misting Schedule for an adult chameleon:

• A. Every 8 hours for 30 seconds

5) Nozzles

This kit includes a total of 4 nozzles. Mount one nozzle in each of the four corners to create a full rainforest feel for your chameleon.

6) T5 24", 24W UVB Light

Position the UVB fixture on top of the mesh. Set up branches 6-8 inches below the fixture to achieve the 3-6 Ferguson UVI range for your chameleon, ensuring adequate Vitamin D dosage. Replace the UVB tube every 6 months, as the UVI decreases after this period even if the light is still functional.

7) Plant Growth LED Light

The LED light provides bright sunlight for live plants such as pothos. This kit includes two LED lights suitable for live plants or bioactive setups.

8) 8.5" Heat Basking Reflective Dome Fixture

Place this 8.5" heat fixture with a 50W (Summer) or 75W (Winter) bulb to create a comfortable basking temperature. Mount a branch 6 inches below the top mesh screen for your chameleon to bask at the 85°F spot.

9) 50W Heat Bulb

Use the 50W E26 bulb with the 8.5" heat fixture for summer use.

10) 100W Heat Bulb

Use the 100W E26 bulb with the 8.5" heat fixture for winter use if you are not using a separate heater. The basking spot should be maintained at 85°F.

11) High Pressure Manual Mister

Even with the automatic misting system, chameleons may benefit from manual misting once a week to clean their eyes and remove dust or dirt.

12) 4 Decorative Artificial Plants

Use these artificial plants to fill the middle section of the enclosure, providing more hiding spots for your chameleon, especially after live plants and branches are arranged.

13) 10 pairs of Branch Holder Adhesive

This kit includes 10 pairs (20 pieces) of adhesive branch holders. These are designed for branches less than 0.5” in diameter. Peel the flat portion of the holder and stick it onto the white PVC cage. Then, use the hot glue gun to permanently secure the branch to the holder.

14) Hot Glue Gun

Use the hot glue gun to secure all branches to their holders.

Recommendation on Setting up branches for your chameleon:

1. 1st water branch: Mount horizontally from left to right, 6 inches below the top mesh screen, near a corner of the misting nozzle.
2. 2nd UVB branch: Mount horizontally from left to right, 6 inches below the top mesh screen. This branch serves as the sunbathing branch. Ensure the UVB light fixture is positioned directly below this branch horizontally to provide a 3-6 UVI Ferguson Index for your chameleon.
3. 3rd Basking Spot branch: Mount horizontally from left to right, 6 inches below the top mesh screen and underneath the 8.5" heat dome with a 50W light bulb for basking during the day.
4. 4th to 10th branches: Mount the remaining branches randomly to create varied walking paths. Choose branches with diameters ranging from ¼” to 0.5” for your chameleon to practice grip strength.
