Controls & Functions
The device is shown from top, side, front, and bottom views, with numbered callouts pointing to specific controls.
Device Controls:
- 1. Headphone Jack: For connecting headphones.
- 2. Power/Sleep Button: Press and hold to turn the device on/off.
- 3. Clip: For attaching the device to clothing.
- 4. Menu Button: Accesses the main menu or confirms selections.
- 5. Up/Volume+ Button: Navigates up or increases volume.
- 6. Previous Button: Skips to the previous track or rewinds.
- 7. Play/Pause Button: Plays or pauses audio playback.
- 8. Down/Volume- Button: Navigates down or decreases volume.
- 9. Next Button: Skips to the next track or fast-forwards.
- 10. Back Button: Returns to the previous screen or menu.
- 11. Microphone: Built-in microphone for voice recording.
- 12. USB Port: For charging and data transfer.
- 13. Hold Switch: Locks/unlocks the device buttons.
- 14. SD Card Slot: For expandable storage.
Navigation Settings
Power On/Off
To switch the device on or off, press and hold the Power/Sleep button.
Charging
It is recommended to switch the device off before charging. Connect the device to a power source using the included USB cable and the micro USB port. Charging can be done via a computer or a USB power adapter (not included). The device offers 'Charge & transfer' mode for file transfer while charging, or 'Charge & play' to use the device while charging. For a full charge, it is recommended to charge for no more than 4 hours.
File Transfer/How to Add Music
To transfer audio files, ensure the device is switched off. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable. Select 'Charge & transfer' mode. Transfer your chosen files and wait for completion before safely ejecting the device from your computer's File Explorer. Alternatively, press the Main Menu button to disconnect.
Compatible operating systems: Windows 7/8/8.1/10/XP/Vista/2001/Mac OS.
Music
Play Your Music/Adding Music
Navigate to 'Music' from the main menu, press the Menu button to enter. Select 'Playlists' and choose from 'All songs', 'Artists', 'Albums', or 'Genres'. Refer to page 3 for instructions on how to add music.
Skip Track
Press the Previous/Next buttons to skip to the previous or next track.
Fast Forward/Rewind Track
Press and hold the Back button to rewind. Press and hold the Next button to fast forward. Release either button to resume playback.
Create a Playlist
A maximum of 3 playlists can be created. To create a playlist, first select 'Playlists' from the main Music menu.
Method 1:
- Select 'Create a playlist'. Wait for songs to load.
- Scroll through songs, select one, and press the Menu button to add it to a playlist.
- While the song plays, press the Main Menu button, select 'Add to playlist', choose the desired playlist, and confirm. Repeat to add more songs.
Method 2:
- Play a song.
- Press the Menu button.
- Select 'Add to playlist' and choose the playlist.
Main Menu Options:
- Create playlist: Begin creating a playlist (up to 100 songs).
- Playlists: Select to play a playlist.
- All songs: View a list of all songs.
- Artists: View music by artist and album.
- Albums: View music by album.
- Genres: View music by genre.
Repeat a Song or Shuffle All Songs
While playing a song, press the Menu button, select 'Play mode', then 'Repeat' to choose a repeat option (e.g., 'repeat file'). Select 'Shuffle' to shuffle all songs.
Song Options:
- Play mode: Change playback modes like repeat or shuffle, or adjust song speed.
- Equalizer: Choose sound settings (e.g., 'Rock', 'Funk', 'Hip Hop', 'Jazz', 'Classical', 'Techno').
- Add to playlist: Add a song to a playlist.
- Remove from playlist: Remove a song from a playlist.
- Delete: Delete a song from the device.
- Bookmarks: Save a specific point in a song to start from later via the 'Go to bookmark' option.
Radio
FM Radio
To listen to FM radio, select 'Radio' from the main menu. For an autoscan and search for stations:
- Ensure headphones are connected, as they act as the antenna.
- From the radio interface, press the Menu button.
- Select 'Auto tune' from the options.
- Confirm 'Yes' for auto search or 'No' to cancel.
- The device will display a list of stations with good signals. Select a station to play.
Radio Options:
- Auto tune: Press the Menu button to enter auto tune mode.
- FM Record: Start recording an FM broadcast or listen to saved recordings. Press the Back button to save or delete.
- Save to preset: Save FM stations to a list of presets.
- Clear preset: Delete FM stations from the presets list.
- FM bands: Change the FM frequency band.
Recorder
Create a Voice Recording
To create a voice recording:
- Select 'Recorder' from the main menu.
- Select 'Start voice recording'.
- The device will record using the built-in microphone.
- Press the Menu button to pause/stop the recording. Press the Back button and select 'Yes' or 'No' to save or delete the recording.
Recorder Options:
- Start voice recording: Begin a voice recording.
- Recordings library: View a list of your recordings.
- Record Format: Choose between MP3 or WAV file formats for recordings.
- Record Settings: Adjust recording bitrate (512, 768, 1024, 1536kbps). VOX-mode enables voice-activated recording, pausing when no voice is detected.
Bluetooth
Connect to a Bluetooth Speaker
To connect the MP200 to a Bluetooth speaker or sound output device:
- Select 'Bluetooth' from the main menu.
- Select 'Bluetooth On/Off' from the Bluetooth menu.
- Select 'Bluetooth on' using the Menu button.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your chosen sound output device.
- Select 'Search for device'. Wait for the MP200 to display a list of available devices.
- Select your device from the list and wait for the connection to establish. You can now play music and audio through the connected device.
Bluetooth Options:
- Bluetooth On/Off: Switch Bluetooth on or off.
- BT status on power-on: Choose whether Bluetooth is automatically enabled or disabled when the device powers on.
- Search for device: Search for available Bluetooth devices.
- Device List: View a list of previously connected devices.
Settings
Access 'Settings' from the main menu to change device options.
- Language: Change the device language from a list of 30 options.
- Display settings: Adjust screen brightness and backlight timer.
- Power off: Set the sleep timer and auto turn-off options.
- Information: View firmware details and remaining disk space.
- Format device: Format the device, deleting all data and files.
- Factory settings: Restore the device to its original factory settings.
Forced Reset:
If the MP3 player becomes unresponsive, perform a forced reset. Insert a pin or paper clip into the reset hole located at the bottom of the unit, next to the charging port.
