T-fal Ultimate EZ Clean Fryer
User Guide
Introduction
Welcome to your T-fal Ultimate EZ Clean Fryer. This guide provides essential information for safe operation, maintenance, and optimal use of your appliance.
Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed:
Read all instructions before using.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or fryer in water or other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after malfunctions. Return to authorized service.
Use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause injuries.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
Do not place on or near hot gas/electric burners or in a heated oven.
Extreme caution must be used when moving the fryer containing hot oil.
Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn control to "off", then remove plug.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
Ensure handles are properly assembled to basket and locked.
WARNING: Possible Eruption
Water's reaction to hot oil is extremely volatile. Ensure food is dried thoroughly before immersing in hot oil, regardless of recipe instructions. This prevents oil overflow and extends oil life.
CAUTION: Hot Surfaces
Accessible surfaces may be hot when the appliance is operating. Do not touch hot surfaces.
Electrical Requirements:
Ensure electrical sockets have a minimum load of 15A.
Check local voltage corresponds with appliance nameplate.
Polarization Instructions (USA): This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) to reduce electric shock risk. It fits into a polarized outlet only one way. If it doesn't fit, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.
Short Cord Instructions: Do not use an extension cord. A short power-supply cord reduces the risk of entanglement or tripping.

Operation
Before First Use
The fryer can be completely dismantled (except the control unit). Clean all removable parts (lid, bowl, housing, basket, oil box) with soap and water or in a dishwasher. Clean the control unit separately with a sponge. Ensure the filtration valve is reset to its original position after cleaning.
Preparing the Fryer
Oil Levels: Always ensure the oil level is between the MIN and MAX markers on the removable bowl. Do not exceed the MAX fill line to prevent overflow and burns.
Oil Type: Vegetable oil is recommended. If using solid vegetable shortening (not recommended), melt it separately before pouring into the bowl. Never melt shortening directly in the fryer.
Oil Box Control Button: This button has three positions: Fry, Automatic Oil Filtration, and Oil Box (for removal/insertion of the oil box).
Frying Process
Set the Oil box control button to the Fry position.
Fill the bowl with oil to the correct level.
Plug in the fryer (without the basket). Set the On/Off switch to position 1. The temperature indicator light will turn on.
Set the thermostat to the desired temperature. The fryer will heat the oil. The indicator light will turn off when the desired temperature is reached.
Place food in the basket, ensuring not to overfill or exceed the MAX marker. For frozen foods, reduce quantities.
Once the temperature light turns off, slowly lower the basket into the hot oil.
Place the lid on the fryer.
Frying is complete when the time has elapsed and food is the desired color and texture.
Carefully remove the lid to avoid condensation dripping into the oil.
Hook the basket on the support to drain excess oil.
Serve the food.
Turn the On/Off switch to position O.
Unplug the appliance and let it cool for about 3 hours before filtering or draining.
Cooking Tables
Cooking times are guidelines and may vary. For best results with fresh fries, a two-stage frying process is recommended (first at 160°C/320°F, then at 170°C/338°F).
For safety, the appliance automatically drains oil when cool (approx. 3 hours after last cooking).
When finished cooking, turn the Oil box control lever to the Automatic Oil Filtration position (Fig. 12).
Once filtration is complete, store the oil box:
In the appliance: Set Oil box control to Fry position. Transport flat.
Out of the appliance: Set Oil box control to Oil box position, remove container, and transport with care (Fig. 14).
Store oil in a cool, dry place away from light and humidity.
To reuse oil, carefully remove the oil box, unscrew the cap, and empty oil into the fryer bowl.
Clean the lid, bowl, housing, frying basket, and oil box in the dishwasher.
Clean the control unit separately with a sponge and dry thoroughly.
After cleaning, press the filtration valve under the fryer to release any remaining water (Fig. 7).
Note: Never put the oil box in the microwave. Do not pour used oil down the sink.
