Firmware update process
- Download the firmware update file.
- Extract the ZIP file.
- Copy the firmware update file to an SD card.
- Update the firmware.
- Confirm that the firmware has been updated correctly.
Updating the Firmware
This guide explains firmware update to version 1.10 as an example.
1. Download the firmware update file.
Download the ZIP file that contains the firmware update file from the F8n download page.

2. Extract the ZIP file.
On Windows
Select the folder that contains the downloaded ZIP file. Click 1 "Compressed Folder Tools" followed by 2 "Extract all". This extracts the ZIP file.

On macOS
After downloading, open the 1 “Downloads” folder, which appears at the right end of the Dock by default. Then, click 2. Downloaded files will be shown.

3. Copy the firmware update file to an SD card.
Copy the "F8nProSYSTEM.BIN” file to an SD card.

The following procedures are the same on both Windows and macOS.
4. Install new batteries in the F8n Pro or connect an AC adapter.
NOTE: The firmware update is not possible if the remaining battery power is low.
5. Insert the SD card into the SD CARD 1 slot.

6. Turn the power on while pressing the ►/II button.

7. Use the ►/II button to select "Yes", and press the ENTER button.
The firmware update starts.

NOTE: During the firmware update, do not turn the power off or remove the SD card. Doing so could cause the F8n to become unstartable.
8. After the firmware update completes, turn the power off.

NOTE: In the unlikely event that firmware update should fail, conduct the procedures to install it again to update the firmware.
Confirming that the firmware has been updated correctly
Check the firmware versions used by the F8n Pro.
1. Press MENU.
This opens the Menu Screen.
2. Use the navigation buttons to select "SYSTEM", and press ENTER.

4. Check the firmware version.
