Motorola VM44 Connect: Quick Start Guide

1. Setting up the Baby Unit for Wi-Fi® Internet Viewing

This section guides you through connecting the baby unit to your Wi-Fi network for remote viewing.

To enable Wi-Fi internet viewing, you will need to download the Motorola Nursery App. Scan the QR code with your smart device or search for "Motorola Nursery App" in the App Store or Google Play™ Store.

Install the Motorola Nursery App on your compatible smartphone or tablet. Create your account and connect to the baby unit.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • For iOS: iOS 10.0 or later
  • For Android™: Android™ 7.0 or later

The system allows connection to the internet via Wi-Fi®. This enables viewing on compatible devices.

2. Functioning and Connecting the Power Supply

The parent unit contains a rechargeable battery (Lithium-ion battery, 2000mAh) that allows you to move it without losing the link. Charge the parent unit for at least 16 hours before first use, or until the battery low indicator turns off.

Connecting the Power Supply for the Baby Unit:

  • Insert the DC plug of the power adapter into the DC socket on the Baby Unit.
  • Connect the other end of the power adapter to a suitable power socket.

The baby unit turns on and the indicator lights in Blue color. NOTE: Only use the supplied power adapter (DC5V/1000mA).

Connecting the Power Supply for the Parent Unit:

  • To place the parent unit on a flat surface, pull out the stand located on the back.
  • Insert the DC plug of the power adapter into the DC socket on the Parent Unit.
  • Connect the other end of the power adapter to a suitable power socket.

The parent unit will turn on. If the parent unit and baby unit are both turned on and within range of each other, the parent unit will display the video feed from the baby unit. If the parent unit is out of range or the baby unit is off, a moon icon ? may show, indicating a low-signal or night mode.

3. Description of the Keys

Familiarize yourself with the functions of the keys on the parent unit:

  • Power Button: Press and hold to switch the Parent Unit ON or OFF.
  • Up/Down Buttons: Used to select brightness level of the Parent Unit screen or adjust menu settings when the menu is open.
  • Left/Right Buttons: Used to adjust volume level or navigate menu options when the menu is open.
  • OK/Menu Button: Press to confirm a selection or access the menu.
  • LCD Screen ON/OFF Button: Press to turn the LCD screen ON or OFF.
  • Talk Button: Press and hold to talk to your baby through the baby unit.
  • Reset Button: Press and hold with a small pin to reset the unit.
  • Pairing Button: Press and hold to pair with the parent unit during initial setup.
