What are the Pinguino and SuperPinguino?
Air conditioners remove excess moisture and heat from a room. Portable air conditioners offer the advantage of being movable between rooms or buildings. Hot air from the room passes through a coil cooled by refrigerant gas, removing heat and moisture before the air is re-emitted. In single-unit models (Pinguino), a portion of this air cools the refrigerant gas and is then discharged outside. In models with a case (SuperPinguino), the circuit is cooled by outside air. All models can be used in fan-only or air purifying mode. The Pinguino ECO is an environmentally-friendly model that does not contain ozone-depleting or high greenhouse effect gases (CFC/HCFC/HFC). It reduces energy consumption and minimizes greenhouse gas impact due to its high efficiency.
Preparing for Use
Electrical Connections
Before plugging into the mains socket, verify:
- The mains power supply matches the rating plate.
- The power socket and electrical circuit are adequate.
- The mains socket matches the plug; if not, have the plug replaced.
- The mains socket is adequately earthed. Failure to follow these instructions absolves the manufacturer of liability.
The power cable must only be replaced by a qualified professional.
Air-Conditioning Without Installation
Follow these steps for easy setup:
- Fit the air exhaust hose [12] into the housing [5] at the back of the appliance, as shown in Figure A. [Illustration showing the air exhaust hose being fitted into the appliance housing.]
- Fit the window outlet [12] to the end of the hose [13].
- Place the air conditioner near a window or French window.
- Open the window or French window slightly and position the outlet [13] as shown in Figure B. [Illustration showing the window outlet positioned in a slightly open window.]
- Keep air hoses as short and free of curves as possible to avoid bottlenecks.
- If you have a double window, use the suckers [14] to hold the parts of the window together, as shown in Figure C. [Illustration showing suckers used to secure the window outlet in a double-glazed window.]
Air-Conditioning with Installation
The Pinguino can be installed semi-permanently:
- Fit the flange accessory [11] into the hole.
- Fit the hose [12] into the housing at the back of the appliance (Figure A, page 29).
- Connect the end of the hose [12] to the flange [11] as shown in Figure F. [Diagram showing hose connection to flange and wall/window dimensions, with max/min hose lengths.]
To proceed:
- Drill a hole in an outside wall or window pane, respecting the dimensions shown in Figures E and F. [Diagram showing hole dimensions for window pane or wooden kickboard installation, and wall installation with insulation recommendation.]
When the hose [12] is not fitted, the hole can be closed with the flange cap [11].
Note: When installing semi-permanently, leave a door slightly open (approx. 1 cm) for correct ventilation.
Dehumidifying
Place the appliance in the room without fitting the hose. Dehumidified air is released directly into the atmosphere. Cold air exits the front grille, and hot air exits the back grille (Figure G), ensuring efficient dehumidifying. [Diagram illustrating airflow for dehumidifying mode: cold air from front, hot air from back.]
Keep air hoses as short and free of curves as possible to avoid bottlenecks.
