Jooan WiFi Camera Quick User Guide
Camera Introduction
This section provides an overview of the camera's components. Note that the exact position of the reset button may vary by model.
- Mic: Microphone
- Lens: Camera lens
- White LEDs: White LED lights
- Speaker: Audio output
- SD card slot: For storing recordings
- Reset button: Used to reset the camera
- Network port: For wired Ethernet connection
- Call buttons: Buttons for communication
- Power port: For power supply
- Infrared LEDs: For night vision
- Card cover: Covers the SD card slot
App Download and Setup
Download the CAM720 APP from the App Store or Google Play, or by scanning the provided QR code. Sign up for an account using your email and log in. Read the instructions carefully before use.
Q1: What should I pay attention to before WiFi connection?
- APP Permissions: Enable location and all other necessary permissions for the APP. For iOS, enable precise location in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > CAM720 APP, selecting "Always".
- WiFi Requirement: Ensure your router's WiFi name and password do not exceed 15 characters.
- Note: Place the camera near the router for the first connection.
Sign Up & Login
- Register an account: Click "Sign Up", enter your email, set an APP password, and check the verification code.
- Login: Enter your credentials.
Note: An account is required for remote access; without one, the camera can only be used in standalone mode.
WiFi Connection
Power and Reset the Camera: Plug in the adapter. The camera will perform a self-inspection after two "Di" sounds.
Requirements: Refer to Q1 above. Ensure APP permissions are not blocked. The camera supports 2.4GHz WiFi only. Ensure your phone is connected to the desired WiFi network.
- In the APP, click "+" and select "WiFi Connection".
- Check "Configure the network when you hear the device tone" and tap "Next Step".
- Follow the in-app tips: connect your phone to the camera's WiFi (named JA-** or JAA-***), then return to the CAM720 APP.
- Enter the password for the WiFi network your phone is connected to and tap "Next Step".
- Wait for the camera to come online, then click the video feed to view.
Bluetooth Configuration
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Reset the camera and wait for two "Di" sounds and self-test completion.
- In the APP, click "+" and wait for the APP to automatically search for the camera's Bluetooth signal.
- Select the camera's Bluetooth signal, enter the WiFi password, and click "Next".
- Wait patiently for the Bluetooth network configuration. Do not exit the process.
Note: This step is optional. If you need to use it again, close and reopen the APP.
Wired Connection
Q2: What should I pay attention to before Wired Connection?
- Ethernet Cable: Ensure the cable is working and the network port indicator is always on.
- Note: Confirm your phone is connected to the same WiFi as the router the camera is connected to.
- In the APP, click "+" and select "Network Cable Connection".
- Search for and select the camera's IP address, then click to add.
- Plug in the power supply and Ethernet cable to the router. Wait for the "Camera is online" prompt, then select wired connection.
- Reset the camera by holding the reset button for 5-8 seconds until you hear a prompt. Select wired connection.
Note: If you encounter issues with wired connection, refer to Q2. If the camera has a network port, it supports wired WiFi connection.
Troubleshooting
Q3: How to do if the camera is often offline?
- Adapter: Check the adapter and power outlet. The camera can record without WiFi.
- Network: Verify the network connection is stable.
- APP Permission: Ensure the mobile network permission for the APP is enabled.
- Reconfigure: Remove and re-add the camera from the APP.
Camera Features and Settings
- Live Video: Start viewing the live feed.
- Playback: Access recordings from SD card or Cloud storage.
- Share: Share camera access with friends and family. Your friend needs a CAM720 APP account. Enter their email or scan their account QR code. Set permissions for shared accounts.
- Record Methods: SD card record (8-128GB) and Cloud Record are available. New users can get free cloud storage trial. SD card supports 24/7 continuous, motion-triggered, or scheduled recording.
- Detection Alarm Settings: Configure motion detection alerts.
- Buy Cloud Storage: Subscribe to cloud storage services.
- Image Flip: Rotate the image 180 degrees.
- Choose Night Vision Mode: Select between different night vision settings.
- Enable/Disable Auto Tracking: Activate or deactivate the camera's tracking feature.
- Indicator Light Switch: Turn the LED indicator on or off.
- Set Time Zone: Configure the correct time zone.
- Switch WiFi Network: Change the connected WiFi network.
- Camera Information: View details like camera version number.
- Modify Device Name: Rename your camera.
- Add More Cameras: Add additional cameras to your account.
- Transfer Camera: Move the camera to another account.
- Delete Camera: Remove the camera from your account.
- Switch in Screen: Change screen orientation.
- Choose a Call Mode: Select communication mode.
- Turn on Voice Intercom: Enable two-way audio.
- Turn on Screen: Activate screen features.
- Preset Point Settings: Set specific points for the camera to focus on.
- TZP Rotation Control: Control camera pan, tilt, and zoom.
Installation
Indoor Camera - Bracket Assembly
The camera can be placed on a desktop or mounted on a ceiling or wall.
- Attach the bracket to the wall, marking hole positions. Drill holes using a 6mm drill bit and insert rubber stoppers.
- Align the bracket with the holes and tighten the screws.
- Fix the camera body to the bracket and turn it tightly.
Materials: Bracket, Screws, Plastic expansion pipe.
Outdoor Camera
- Connect bracket A to bracket B's slot and push them together.
- Select a suitable location and install expansion screws on the wall (not required for wooden walls).
- Align the bracket with the position and tighten the screws.
Important Use Notice
- Using unapproved power adapters may cause fire, explosion, or other hazards.
- This product contains small parts; keep away from children and use under adult supervision.
- Use the product within the appropriate temperature range (0-40°C) and below 2000 meters altitude.
- Ensure the WiFi device is in an area with a good WiFi signal; avoid closed environments that may cause poor signal.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Failed connection on first connection: Refer to the operation video (scan QR code).
- Camera offline after changing router: Delete the camera from the APP, move it near the new router, power cycle, reset, and re-add it.
- Stop recording: Check SD card status in the APP, verify record setup, try a different SD card, or contact the seller.
- Camera offline: Refer to Q3 on page 4. Contact the seller for further assistance.
- Instructions not detailed enough: This is a quick user guide. Contact the seller for the E-user manual and operation videos.
