Your guide to pairing and using your Accu-Chek Instant meter with the mySugr app

WARNING: The Accu-Chek Instant meter is intended for patient self-monitoring by an individual person only. The mySugr Bolus Calculator is intended for the management of insulin-dependent diabetes by calculating a bolus insulin dose or carbohydrate intake based on your entered data. They must not be used to test blood glucose from more than one person as they do not incorporate any features to guard against cross-infection.

Pairing the Accu-Chek Instant Meter to the mySugr App
Follow these steps to connect your Accu-Chek Instant meter to the mySugr app for automatic data transfer.

Step 1: Start Pairing in mySugr App
On the mySugr app homepage, navigate to the "Connections" option located at the bottom right of the screen. Select "Accu-Chek Instant," then tap the "Connect now" button.

Step 2: Activate Bluetooth on Meter
Ensure the Accu-Chek Instant meter is turned off. Then, press and hold the meter's button for approximately 3 seconds until the Bluetooth symbol [Bluetooth symbol] appears on the meter's display.

Step 3: Select Meter in App
The serial number of your Accu-Chek Instant meter will appear in the mySugr app. Select your meter from the list to confirm pairing.

Step 4: Enter PIN Code
Enter the PIN code found on the back of your Accu-Chek Instant meter into the app.

Step 5: Complete Pairing
After entering the PIN, select "Pair." The pairing process will then be completed.

Step 6: Successful Connection
Your Accu-Chek Instant meter is now successfully paired with your mySugr app. To unlock the full features of mySugr Pro, you will need to perform a blood glucose test.
The Accu-Chek Instant meter syncs quickly with mySugr. Connect it once, and your blood glucose values will be transferred automatically.
You can download the mySugr app from the App Store or Google Play to set up your account.
Changing the Target Range on Your Accu-Chek Instant Meter
Once your Accu-Chek Instant meter has been paired with the mySugr app, you can adjust your target blood glucose ranges directly through the app.

Step 1: Open mySugr App
Start by opening the mySugr app on your smartphone.

Step 2: Navigate to Settings
On the mySugr home screen, select "More" from the bottom right options. Then, choose "Profile Settings," followed by "Blood sugar testing." Here you can select and adjust your "Hyper," "Target range," and "Hypo" settings by scrolling up or down.

Step 3: Confirm and Update
Once your settings are updated in the app, you will receive a confirmation message. The target range on your Accu-Chek Instant meter will be updated automatically during the next connection to match the ranges set in the app (e.g., 5.0-9.0 mmol/L).
To confirm that the new target range (TRI) has been successfully applied to your Instant meter, perform another blood glucose test.
Log an Entry
The mySugr Bolus Calculator is licensed for individuals with diabetes aged 18 years and older. The mySugr logbook is licensed for individuals with diabetes aged 16 years and older.
You can log various data points to help manage your diabetes:

Step 1: Tap Add Entry
Tap the '+' button on your mySugr app screen to start a new entry.

Step 2: Set a Reminder (Optional)
You can set a reminder for future actions if needed.

Step 3: Add a Photo (Optional)
Take a picture of your meal or relevant item to associate with the entry.

Step 4: Enter Data
Input your blood glucose reading, carbohydrate intake (carbs), insulin doses (food and correction), and any relevant activities (e.g., steps).

Step 5: Select Tags
Choose relevant tags to categorize your entry, such as "Breakfast," "Lunch," "Snack," "Hypo feeling," or "Hyper feeling."

Step 6: Save Entry
Review your entered information and tap "Save" to complete the log entry.
You can customize the cells displayed in the log entry screen to suit your needs.
