E-Z Storage Heavy Duty Retractable 4' x 8' Ceiling Storage Unit Lifetime Limited Warranty E-Z Storage warrants this ceiling storage system against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product. E-Z Storage agrees to either repair the product or replace it at the sole discretion of E-Z Storage. This warranty does not cover the costs associated with the physical installation, removal, or return of the E-Z Storage Heavy Duty 4' x 8' Ceiling Storage Unit. This warranty is valid and enforceable provided that the maximum weight supported by each Heavy Duty 4' x 8' Ceiling Storage Unit does not exceed 700 lbs per unit, evenly distributed. The customer, dealer, and/or installer release E-Z Storage from all claims, including those related to the E-Z Storage ceiling unit and the structure to which it is attached. If the loaded weight exceeds 700 lbs or is unevenly distributed, this unit must be installed according to the man facturer's instructions (both written and/or by video). At no time should you install more than two (2) Heavy Duty Ceiling Storage units on any two ceiling rafters, trusses, or ceiling studs. All hardware and fasteners must be checked and tightened at least annually. Only the original purchaser of this product is eligible for this warranty. No warranty work will be provided under this warranty without the purchaser's original receipt or other proof of the date of the original purchase, acceptable to E-Z Storage. This E-Z Storage limited warranty covers product failure due to defects in materials or workmanship ONLY. It does not cover corrosion, rust, or discoloration of its components, or product failure due to misuse, abuse, faulty installation, alteration, lack of reasonable care, or any other failure not related to defects in materials or workmanship. There are NO other warranties expressed or implied except those stated herein as required by applicable law. E-Z STORAGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THE PRODUCT OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, IF ANY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. REQUIRED TOOLS: Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Retractable 4'x8' STORAGE SYSTEM *Note: Ensure that your ceiling height is taller than the drop length of the system Corded Drill or 18v Cordless Drill (1/2" chuck) Tape Measure Ladder Safety Glasses Stud Finder Marking Pencil 7/16", 1/2" & 9/16" Sockets 3/16" Drill Bit Level PARTS INCLUDED: Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Ceiling Brackets (x4) Ceiling Bracket Connectors (x2) U Clamps (x8) Halves of Axle Rod (x2) Axle Rod Connector Sides of Frame (x4) Side Frame Connectors (x2) Frame Support Bars (x12) Ends of Frame (x2) Spools with Cables (x2) Gearbox Axle Mount Platform Bar Plugs (x24) Long Bolts and Nuts (x27) Lag Screws and Washers (x12) CONFIGURATION OPTIONS Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Configuration option A: MOUNT THE CEILING BRACKETS parallel to the ceiling joists Configuration option B: MOUNT THE CEILING BRACKETS perpendicular to the ceiling joists 500 Lb 700 Lb Retractable 4'x8' Storage System STEP 1: UNBOX YOUR RETRACTABLE 4'X8' UNIT - Make sure all parts are included Configuration option A: MOUNT THE CEILING BRACKETS 500 Lb parallel to the ceiling joists STEP 2-A: MOUNT YOUR CEILING BRACKETS (PARALLEL TO THE JOISTS) - Parallel Mount - Use a Stud Finder to locate the Ceiling Joists - Pre-drill at the very center of the joists with a 3/16" Drill Bit before inserting the Lag Screws - Mount the first half of the Ceiling Bracket using Lag Screws Retractable 4'x8' Storage System MOUNT THE CEILING BRACKETS parallel to the ceiling joists 500Lb STEP 2-A: MOUNT YOUR CEILING BRACKETS (PARALLEL TO THE JOISTS) - Attach the Ceiling Bracket Connector - Attach the second half of the Ceiling Bracket to the connector using Long Bolts and Nuts - Fasten the second half of the Ceiling Bracket - Mount both parts of the second Ceiling using Lag Screws Bracket 48" from center to center 48" Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Configuration option B: MOUNT THE CEILING BRACKETS 700 Lb perpendicular to the ceiling joists STEP 2-B: MOUNT YOUR CEILING BRACKETS (PERPENDICULAR TO THE JOISTS) - Perpendicular Mount - Mount the first half of the Ceiling Bracket using U Clamps and Lag Screws - Attach the second half of the Ceiling Bracket using the Ceiling Bracket Connector, Long Bolts and Nuts - Repeat with the second Ceiling Bracket and mount both parts 46" apart from inside edge to inside edge 46" Ceiling Bracket Connector Inside Edge Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Installing the gearbox, spool mount, spools and spool axel. STEP 3: Installing the Gearbox, Spool Mount, Spools and Spool Axel. - Remove the Long Bolts - Mount the Gearbox and replace the Long Bolts - Repeat for the Axle Mount Long Bolts & Nuts - Join both halves of the Axle Rod using the Axle Rod Connector, Long Bolts, Nuts and Washers Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Installing the gearbox, spool mount, spools and spool axlE STEP 3: Installing the Gearbox, Spool Mount, Spools and Spool Axel. - Mount the Spools on the Axle Rod - Insert the Axle Rod into the Gearbox and Axle Mount Cable on inside of spool - Extend the Axle Rod as needed to ensure it is inserted all the way into the Gearbox and Axle Mount - Run Cables through each assigned pulley Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Build the frame and attach the frame to the cables STEP 4: ASSEMBLE THE FRAME - Assemble the Sides of the Frame using Side Frame Connectors, Long Bolts and Nuts - Connect the Sides of the Frame to the Ends of the Frame - Fasten using Long Bolts - Insert the Support Bars and secure them on the grooves Retractable 4'x8' Storage System Build the frame and attach the frame to cables STEP 5: ATTACH THE FRAME - Fasten using the plastic Plugs - Attach the Frame with I-Bolts and ensure that the frame is level - Use your drill to raise and lower the frame - Enjoy your Retractable System YOUR INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE!
