This kit is for upgrading or expanding the factory audio system on many 1996 and later bagger HD models including Electra Glide (FLHT), Street Glide (FLHX), Road Glide (FLTR) and some TRIKEs. Use this kit to install an extra amplifier (Not Included) on your HD, we recommend being small and weather resistant amplifier that is suitable for motorcycle applications. This kit may also be adapted to other makes and models with a 12V battery. Depending on the type of radio, additional audio interface may be needed for signal connection between the source unit and the amplifier (RY-HARNESS.HD or similar sold separately). When possible, refer to the factory service manual for your specific year make and model for additional technical information. If you are unsure, or do not have the ability to access the battery, remove the fairing, and route cabling under the gas tank, then we recommend professional installation. The following is a list of common tools and supplies required when performing this installation: · Socket / Ratchet set, Standard · Wire stripper · Soft protective cloth covers for painted surfaces · Allen Hex sockets or wrenches, Standard · Wire crimper · Screwdrivers · Electrical Volt-Ohm meter · Eye and skin protection HERRAMIENTAS Y PREPARACIÓN Este manual pretende ser una guía para instalar los elementos incluidos. Review this guide thoroughly to become familiar with this kit. 2. Seat and Front fairing (at minimum) must be removed to properly install this kit. Gas tank must be lifted or removed to access the existing wiring loom or wire trough underneath. Lay out all necessary items and plan your installation before beginning. 4. Route the included power/ground cable with existing Factory wires. Use the protective wiring channel if equipped. 5. Keep new wiring away from all moving parts, suspension travel movement or sources of extreme moisture. 6. (10) cable zip ties are included ties to securely fasten wires and cable out of harm's way. 7. Work in a clean, dry and level environment. 8. Turn OFF ignition switch. (If equipped with a factory HD security system, hands-free FOB should be present.) 3. Organize todos los elementos necesarios y planifica tu instalación antes de empezar. 4. (Si su HD esta equipada con un sistema de seguridad de fábrica, la llave debería estar presente.) USING THE WIRING KIT POWER / GROUND CABLE (Wiring diagram on other side) 1. Remove seat to gain access to battery. On some models, a tray with the electronics control unit must also be removed. (Consult factory service manual for steps that are specific to your year/model.) 2. Make sure there is NO fuse in the waterproof fuse holder. Remove if necessary. UTILIZANDO EL KIT DE CABLEADO CABLE DE ALIMENTACION / TIERRA (Diagrama de cableado en el otro lado) 1. Retire el asiento para acceder a la batería. Unscrew the Positive (+) Battery terminal, connect the RED ring terminal end and re-connect the terminal. 4. Unscrew the Negative (-) Battery terminal, connect the BLACK ring terminal end and re-connect the terminal. 5. Locate the in-line fuse holder where it can be accessed later to install (or replace) fuse. Fuse holder should be fastened using the built-in slots and supplied cable ties 6. Lift or remove gas tank to route power/ground cables along with existing wiring. (Consult factory service manual for steps that are specific to your year/model.) Use the supplied cable ties to fasten the power/ground cable securely underneath the tank (either to existing loom or withing protective wire trough if equipped). 7. Continue to routing towards front area (stereo source unit) behind the fairing. 8. Connect the power / ground to the amplifier and finish the rest of the installation for example the remote and the speakers wiring, this will depend on whether you use a factory or aftermarket radio, also if you use the motorcycle's wiring or aftermarket. 9. With this we finish the installation of the power section of the aftermarket amplifier, after this you could put the gas tank and the seat back in place and finish with the rest of the installation of your new sound system. 3. Desenrosque el terminal positivo (+) de la batería, conecte el terminal de anillo ROJO y reconecte el terminal. 4. Desenrosque el terminal negativo (-) de la batería, conecte el terminal de anillo NEGRO y reconecte el terminal. 5. Coloque el portafusibles en un lugar accesible donde mas adelante pueda instalar (o reemplazar) el fusible. El portafusibles debe sujetarse utilizando las ranuras integradas y los cintillos de plástico suministrados. 6. Levante o retire el tanque de gasolina para pasar los cables de alimentación / tierra junto con el cableado de fábrica. (Consulte el manual de servicio de fabrica para conocer los pasos específicos de su año/modelo.) Utilice los cintillos de plástico suministrados para sujetar los cables de alimentación/tierra firmemente debajo del tanque (ya sea a un ramal existente o dentro del conducto protector de cables, si está equipado.) 7. Continue pasando los cables hacia el área frontal (unidad de fuente estéreo) detrás del carenado. 8. Conecte la alimentación/tierra al amplificador y termine el resto de la instalación, por ejemplo, el cableado remoto y de los parlantes. Esto dependerá si usa un radio de fabrica o de otro fabricante, y además si utiliza el cableado de la moto o de otro fabricante. 9. Con esto terminamos la instalación de la sección de alimentación del amplificador.
