1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Deaf Bonce product. This company is committed to creating extremely loud sound systems with no loss of quality. Please read this manual carefully before use, paying special attention to safety precautions. Keep the manual in a safe and accessible place for future reference.
2. Safety Instructions
- Fasten speakers securely when installing in a vehicle. Disconnected components can cause damage to passengers or other vehicles.
- Store the product in its original packaging before installation to prevent accidental damage.
- Be careful during installation or dismantling. Do not drop the speaker to avoid damaging moving parts.
- Follow safety rules when working with tools.
- Before installation, switch off the head unit and all other audio devices to prevent damage.
- Ensure the speaker location does not hinder the operation of the vehicle's mechanical or electrical devices.
- Do not install components in areas exposed to water, excessive humidity, extreme temperatures, dust, or dirt. The product can be operated at +5°C (41°F) to +40°C (104°F). Allow the product to dry if moisture condensation occurs.
- When performing plumbing, drilling, or cutting work on a car, ensure no wiring, brake lines, fuel pipes, or other structural elements are present under the work area. Use protective glasses and gloves.
- When routing speaker cables, ensure they do not contact sharp edges or moving mechanical devices. Secure and protect cables along their entire length.
- Select speaker cable diameter based on length and power consumption.
- Never route cables outside the car or near moving parts, as this can damage insulation, cause short circuits, and lead to fire.
- Use rubber gaskets or similar materials to protect cables passing through holes or lying near heat-exposed parts.
CAUTION! High sound pressure can damage your health! Use common sense when controlling volume.
3. Wiring Diagrams
Do not expose your amplifier to loads below the manufacturer's specified value. The following diagrams illustrate various connection types to help determine the required load impedance.
Serial Connection of Speakers
Describes connecting speakers in series. For example, two 4 Ohm voice coil speakers connected in series result in a total impedance of 8 Ohm. Three 4 Ohm voice coil speakers in series yield 12 Ohm, and four 4 Ohm voice coil speakers in series yield 16 Ohm.
Parallel Connection of Speakers
Describes connecting speakers in parallel. For example, two 4 Ohm voice coil speakers connected in parallel result in a total impedance of 2 Ohm. Three 4 Ohm voice coil speakers in parallel yield 1.33 Ohm, and four 4 Ohm voice coil speakers in parallel yield 1 Ohm.
Mixed Connection of Speakers
Describes a mixed connection. For example, four 4 Ohm voice coil speakers connected in a mixed configuration (specific wiring not detailed, but implied by diagram) result in a total impedance of 4 Ohm.
CAUTION! High sound pressure can damage your health! Use common sense when controlling volume.
Selection of Speaker Cable Diameter
A table is provided to help select the appropriate speaker cable diameter based on cable length (in meters) and power consumption (in Watts). The table shows recommended AWG sizes and corresponding mm² cross-sectional areas for various combinations.
4. Filtering, Recommended Amplifier Settings
The lifespan of your audio system depends on the correct choice of amplifier, settings, filtering, and enclosure. Select an amplifier with a nominal power not exceeding the speaker's nominal power. Proper coordination between the head unit (HU) and amplifier ensures a clean, undistorted signal, preventing overheating and voice coil damage. Recommended settings: HU volume should not exceed 80%. Amplifier sensitivity should be set to 50%.
Recommended Filter Settings:
High Pass Filter (HPF): Set between 60-120 Hz (24 dB/Oct) or 80-160 Hz (12 dB/Oct).
Recommended Amplifiers: MFA-2.80, MFA-2.120, MFA-2.220, MFA-2.320, MFA-2.420, MFA-2.520, MFA-4.80, MFA-4.120, MFA-4.180, MFA-4.80, MFA-4.220, MFA-4.320.
5. Specifications
A frequency response graph shows the HPF setting for MFX-50/MFX-60/MFX-69 as 60-120 Hz (24 dB/Oct).
