PLANO, Texas (Sept. 30, 2022) – The Lexus NX was fully redesigned in 2022 and introduces new features for 2023. The exterior has been reimagined, and the Lexus Driving Signature ensures a consistent, direct driving feel across the lineup. The NX features advanced technology, including the intuitive Lexus Interface, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Voice Assistant, cloud-navigation with Google Points of Interest (POI), over-the-air (OTA) updates, and available Digital Key.
Lexus Interface: An Elegant, Intuitive Connected Multimedia System
The Lexus Interface multimedia system allows seamless integration and navigation. It features a standard 9.8-inch optically bonded touchscreen for intuitive control. The Human Machine Interface enhances user interaction through sight, touch, and voice. An optional 14-inch touchscreen offers a three-year trial for Drive Connect services, including Cloud Navigation, Destination Assist, and Intelligent Assistant. User Profiles allow personalized settings to be stored securely in the cloud and accessed across Lexus Interface-equipped vehicles. The system can be accessed via Bluetooth, smart key, or manual login. The Voice Assistant, developed with a human-centered approach, uses dual microphones and enhanced noise-cancellation for a voice-first experience. The Intelligent Assistant, available with a Drive Connect subscription, provides features like weather and location-based notifications, address/POI searches, and integrated audio streaming via Wi-Fi Connect. Digital Key, an extension of User Profiles, enables smartphone control (lock/unlock, start/stop) via Bluetooth proximity and can be shared with up to seven guests. The cloud-based navigation system offers fast, accurate directions and mapping, with the latest route guidance included with the Drive Connect subscription. OTA updates provide real-time mapping and media experience enhancements. The cloud-based navigation also functions offline, downloading applicable maps and services in advance when low connectivity is detected.
For 2023, the Lexus NX includes standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An optional wireless charger is available for convenient charging and streaming.
NX 350 and 250: The Dynamic Duo of Gas Powertrains
The NX 350 features a 2.4L turbo engine paired with an eight-speed transmission, producing 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. It achieves 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and an EPA-estimated 25 MPG combined. The NX 250 is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with start/stop functionality, available in FWD and AWD. This engine delivers 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, achieving 0-60 mph in 8.2 seconds (FWD) and 8.6 seconds (AWD), with an EPA-estimated 28 MPG combined.
NX 350h: Horsepower and Hybrid Electric In One
The Lexus NX 350h combines a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine with two high-torque electric drive motor-generators for strong acceleration. The AWD system uses an independent electric motor for the rear wheels to enhance traction. This hybrid powertrain delivers 239 combined system horsepower, achieving 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds and an EPA-estimated 39 MPG combined.
NX 450h+: A Plug-In Crossover with Power
The NX 450h+ offers an EPA-estimated 36-mile electric-only range thanks to its high-capacity lithium-ion battery. It achieves an EV output equivalent to a 2.0-liter engine, with an EPA-estimated combined 84 MPGe. Combined with the hybrid transaxle and a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, it delivers 0-60 mph in an estimated 6.0 seconds. The high-output system supports faster charging. Using a 240V connection and the optional 6.6 kW Expedited Onboard Charger, it can fully charge in approximately two-and-a-half hours. With the standard 3.3 kW charger, charging takes about four-and-a-half hours. An electronically controlled AWD system optimizes torque distribution for a confident driving experience.
