Installation Diagram

The installation diagram illustrates the assembly of the mortise lock. Key components shown include: Outside Lever Assembly, Cylinder Assembly, Dust Box, Armor Front, Strike Plate, Spindle, Rose Plate, Spindle Assembly, Inside Rose Cover, Inside Lever, and Lock Case. These parts are depicted in relation to each other for proper installation.

Dimensions

Strike Plate

4 7/8" (123.8mm) total height, 4 1/8" (105mm) mounting height, 3 3/8" (85mm) width. Includes a 1 1/4" (31.75mm) cutout.

Lock Case

3 7/8" (98.5mm) height, 2 3/4" (70mm) backset, 1 1/8" Ø (28.5mm) cylinder hole, 1 5/8" (42mm) lever hole, 1 9/16" (39mm) spindle hole, 3/4" (19mm) screw hole, 7/8" (22mm) screw hole, 05/16" (8mm) screw hole, 05/8" (16mm) screw hole. Also shows 3/16" (4.5mm) and 4 1/4" (108mm) measurements.

Lock Front

6" (152mm) total height, 7 1/8" (181mm) length, 8" (203mm) length. Includes a 1 1/4" (31.5mm) cutout.

Changing Fail-Safe/Fail-Secure

The factory default setting is Fail-Safe.

To change the lock to Fail-Secure:

  1. Remove the screw on position 3.
  2. Loosen the screw on position 1.
  3. Shift the screw from position 1 to position 2.
  4. Secure the screw in position 2.
  5. Complete the process by securing the screw back in position 3.

Visual representation shows three screw positions. Position 1 is for Fail-Safe, and Position 2 is for Fail-Secure. The process involves moving a screw to change the lock's state.

Lever Control

Default Setting: Two 3x8 screws are installed on both sides of the lock.

Note: When an access control device is used to open the door, turning the inside/outside lever will engage the latchbolt to open the door upon valid entry.

Optional Electrical Accessories

The power transfer door loop protects the running wires from the door frame to the door leaf.

Available accessories include: Armored Door Loop with End Caps and Armored Door Loop with Removable Cover.

Crimp Connectors

To use crimp connectors:

  1. Place the wire inside the connector.
  2. Use pliers to press down evenly on the head of the connector.

This section describes the use of crimp connectors for electrical wiring, illustrating the process of inserting a wire and using pliers to secure it.

Installing Cylinder and Armor Faceplate

  1. Screw the cylinder into the threaded hole of the lock case.
  2. Tighten the screw against the cylinder(s) by turning clockwise.
  3. Install the faceplate onto the lock case front and fasten with supplied screws.

This section visually guides the installation of the cylinder and armor faceplate onto the lock case, showing the screw and tightening direction. A measurement of 1 1/16" (26.5mm) is indicated.

Wiring Diagram

For 12VDC operation: Use the supplied electrical connector marked "12 VDC" and connect its red/black wires to the control device.

For 24VDC operation: Use the supplied electrical connector marked "24 VDC" and connect its white/black wires to the control device.

Typical Wiring for Fail-Safe Operation

This diagram shows a 12/24 VDC Power Supply connected to an Access Control Device. The Access Control Device's output is wired to a Relay, utilizing Normally Open (N.O.), Common (COM), and Normally Closed (N.C.) terminals. Connections are polarity insensitive.

Typical Wiring for Fail-Secure Operation

Similar to Fail-Safe, this diagram illustrates wiring for Fail-Secure operation, connecting a 12/24 VDC Power Supply to an Access Control Device, which then interfaces with a Relay. Terminal usage (N.C., COM, N.O.) differs from Fail-Safe. Connections are polarity insensitive.

Dual Voltage (12V) Wiring

Illustrates the wiring for a 12 VDC control device, showing connections from the power supply and specifying wire colors: Black, Red, White, Green (Polarity Free).

Dual Voltage (24V) Wiring

Illustrates the wiring for a 24 VDC control device, showing connections from the power supply and specifying wire colors: White, Green, Black, Red (Polarity Free).

Wiring and Monitoring Instructions

Fail-Secure Mode Wire Colors: Blue (N.O.), Green (COM), Yellow (N.C.).

Fail-Safe Mode Wire Colors: Blue (N.C.), Green (COM), Yellow (N.O.).

Lock Status Monitoring

Provides output indicating door locked and unlocked status. For monitoring, connect wires as shown when power is not applied. Contact Rating: 1A/40VDC (resistive load).

The diagram shows connections for lock status monitoring using Brown (N.C.), White (COM), and Grey (N.O.) wires.

Lever Status Monitoring

Indicates whether pushing or rotating the lever will engage the latchbolt to open the door. Connect wires as shown for monitoring lever rotation in its normal state. Contact Rating: 1A/40VDC (resistive load).

The diagram shows connections for lever status monitoring using Purple (N.C.), Pink (COM), and Orange (N.O.) wires.

Door Status Monitoring

Provides output indicating door open and closed status. Connect wires as shown for monitoring door status when the door is open. Contact Rating: 1A/40VDC (resistive load).

This section describes door status monitoring, implying similar connection methods as other monitoring types.
