How to turn on and off

How to measure color value or color difference

  1. Measure standard (Get color value): Short press the button, place the instrument on the standard sample.
  2. Transfer to sample measurement interface: Long press the button for 2 seconds.
  3. Measure the sample to get the color difference: Short press the button, place the instrument on the sample. The results will display dL*, da*, db*, and dE*ab. A 'Pass' indicates the color difference is within tolerance.

Work with APP

Scan the code to download APP

Scan the provided QR code to download the ColorMeter app. The app is available on the App Store for iOS devices. Android users can download APK files directly for installation.

Register and login to APP

  1. After opening the app, click "Create an account".
  2. Enter your email (Gmail or Outlook recommended).
  3. Click "Get verification code" and check your mailbox for the code.
  4. Enter a six-digit password.
  5. Enter your nickname.
  6. Accept the user agreement and privacy agreement.
  7. Click "Sign Up".
  8. Enter your registered email and password, then click "Sign in" to log in.

Connecting the Colorimeter to the ColorMeter APP

  1. Power on the instrument and turn on your mobile phone's Bluetooth.
  2. On the app, click "Connect" to start searching for the instrument's serial number.
  3. Remove the calibration box, find the serial number on it, and click "Connect" on the app.

The app supports connecting different models. Select the appropriate model and click "OK".

How to calibrate colorimeter

In the app, navigate to "Personal Center" > "Settings" > "Calibration".

How to measure the desired parameters

In the app, navigate to "Personal Center" > "Settings" > "Color Spaces". You can select the measurement parameters for your purchased model.

How to synchronize parameters to colorimeter

In the app, navigate to "Personal Center" > "Settings" > "Sync to Instrument". After setting parameters and measurement conditions, click "Sync to Instrument" to display them on the Colorimeter screen. Note that some parameters may not support synchronization.

How to find the color card number

Click "Find Similar Color" > "Select Library". You can find the color card number closest to your desired color in libraries such as RAL K5, Pantone Uncoated, and Pantone Coated.

In the search results, the first color card number listed is the closest match to the sample color.

Note: Color card information is subject to update without notice.

How to measure color values and create a color library

In the "Measure" interface, you can continuously measure colors and save them in "Measure History" to create a color library.

How to measure color difference

Click to switch to the color difference measurement interface.

First, measure the first color as the standard. Then, measure the second color as the sample to get the color difference result.

The color bias of the two color contrasts will be displayed. The second color is darker if indicated. The dE*ab value represents the color difference. If the difference is greater than the tolerance (default 2.0), it will show 'Fail'; otherwise, it will show 'Pass'.

Lab color space

The Lab color space is illustrated, showing L (Lightness), a* (green-red axis), b* (blue-yellow axis), C* (Chroma), and h (Hue).

How to modify tolerance

You can set the tolerance for L, a, b, or dE*ab separately. If high accuracy is required, reduce the tolerance. If lower accuracy is acceptable, increase the tolerance.

Inspiration function

The "Inspiration" function allows you to match your pictures with desired colors. You can find colors in the color card or use the colorimeter to measure a color in real-time to stimulate design inspiration.

Computer management software

To use the computer management software for controlling the colorimeter, measuring samples, viewing spectral curves, saving data, and exporting reports, click "Product" to go to the software download page. (Subject to change without notice.)

Non warranty regulations

  1. Unauthorized repair, misuse, accident, modification, or use of non-official accessories.

  4. Performance failures not listed in the product performance failure table.
  5. Performance failures caused by human factors.

Performance Failure Table

  1. The instrument cannot power on.
