Operating Instructions
Touch Controls
- The controls respond to touch; no pressure is needed. Use the pad of your finger, not the tip.
- A beep confirms touch registration.
- Ensure controls are clean, dry, and free of objects. Water film can affect operation.
Choosing the Right Cookware
- Do not use cookware with jagged edges or a curved base.
- Ensure the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and matches the cooking zone size. Always center your pan.
- Always lift pans off the cooktop; do not slide them, as this may scratch the glass.
If the display flashes alternately with the heat setting:
- No pan or an unsuitable pan is placed on the cooking zone.
- The pan is too small or not properly centered.
Heating only occurs with a suitable pan on the cooking zone. The display will disappear after 1 minute if no suitable pan is placed.
Using the Cooktop
When power is connected, a beep and brief light illumination indicate standby mode.
- Turn the cooktop on using the ON/OFF control. Indicators will show '-'.
- Place a suitable, clean, and dry pan on the desired cooking zone.
- Touch the heating zone selection control.
- Touch the 'B' control for boost function ('P' will show). To cancel boost, touch 'B' or '-'.
- Select heat setting using '+' or '-' controls. Values adjust by touching or holding. The cooktop will switch off if no setting is chosen within one minute.
- Turn off a cooking zone by scrolling to '0' or touching '+' and '-' together.
- Turn the whole cooktop off using the ON/OFF button.
Beware of hot surfaces: 'H' indicates a hot cooking zone. It disappears when the surface cools to a safe temperature.
Safety Lock
To lock controls (except ON/OFF), press the lock button. The timer indicator will display 'Lo'. To unlock, press and hold the lock button while the cooktop is turned on.
Using the Timer
The timer can be used as an alarm or to automatically turn off a cooking zone. It can be set up to 99 minutes.
Using the Timer as an Alarm:
- Adjust timer with '+' and '-' buttons; the display will flash.
- Once set, the timer counts down, showing remaining time and flashing the timer indicator for five seconds.
- To cancel, hold '+' and '-' together; display changes to '--'.
- When the timer elapses, a buzzer sounds for 30 seconds, and the display changes to '--'.
Hint: Touch '+' or '-' for one-minute increments. Touch and hold for ten-minute increments. Settings over 99 minutes reset to 0.
Setting the Timer to turn one or more Cooking Zones Off
- Touch '+' or '-' control of the desired cooking zone.
- Set the timer as described previously. A red dot next to the power level indicates the timer is set.
- When the timer elapses, the cooking zone switches off automatically. The display shows 'H' if the zone is still hot.
Note: To change a set timer, you must restart the process.
Multiple Timers
If multiple zones use the timer, the display shows the shortest remaining time. A red dot flashes next to the power indicator for the displayed timer. When the shortest timer elapses, the next shortest time is shown.
Over-Temperature Protection
A temperature sensor detects excessive heat and automatically switches off a cooking zone.
Residual Heat Warning
'H' on the display indicates a cooking zone is still hot after being switched off.
Default Working Times
An automatic shut-off feature turns off cooking zones after a set period:
Power level | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Default working timer (hour) | 8 | 8 | 8 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 2 | 2 | 2 |

Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible causes | What to do |
---|---|---|
Cooktop cannot be turned on. | No power. | Ensure cooktop is connected and switched on. Check for power outages. If problem persists, call a qualified technician. |
Touch controls are unresponsive. | Controls are locked. | Unlock controls as per 'Operating Instructions'. |
Touch controls are difficult to operate. | Slight film of water; using fingertip instead of finger pad. | Ensure control area is dry and use the ball of your finger. Use cookware with flat, smooth bases. |
Glass is being scratched. | Rough-edged cookware; unsuitable scourer or cleaning products. | Use cookware with flat, smooth bases. See 'Choosing the Right Cookware'. |
Some pans make crackling or clicking noises. | Caused by cookware construction (metal layers expanding/contracting differently). | This is normal for cookware and does not indicate a fault. |
Induction hob makes a low humming noise on high heat. | Caused by induction cooking technology. | This is normal; the noise should quieten or disappear when heat is decreased. |
Fan noise from induction hob. | Cooling fan activated to prevent overheating. May continue running after switch-off. | This is normal. Do not switch off power at the wall while the fan is running. |
Pans do not become hot and display shows error. | Induction hob cannot detect the pan (unsuitable for induction, too small, or not centered). | Use suitable induction cookware. Centre the pan and ensure its base matches the cooking zone size. |
