Industry Insights: The Future of Sustainable Textiles
Sustainability is no longer a niche concern but a core driver of innovation in the textile industry. SCHMETZ recognizes the importance of supporting eco-friendly manufacturing processes. We are actively exploring how our needle technologies can contribute to sewing with recycled materials and biodegradable threads, ensuring that our solutions align with global sustainability goals.
The shift towards sustainable practices requires adaptable and reliable tools. SCHMETZ needles are engineered for durability and performance, making them ideal partners for manufacturers embracing greener production methods.
Technical Tip of the Month ?
Choosing the Right Needle for Denim: When sewing denim, especially thick layers or specialized weaves, selecting the correct needle is crucial to prevent skipped stitches and fabric damage. For standard denim, a Universal Needle (system 130/705 H) with a size between 80/12 and 100/16 is often suitable. However, for heavier denim or multiple layers, consider using a Jeans Needle (system 705 H-J), which features a stronger shaft and a more robust point designed to penetrate tough fabrics. Always ensure the needle is sharp and free from burrs.
