Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your LG TV, consult the following common problems and solutions:
Cannot control the TV with the remote control.
- Check if anything (like tape) is obstructing the remote control's signal receiver on the TV.
- Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote control and the TV.
- Replace the batteries in the remote control with new ones.
No image display and no sound is produced.
- Check if the TV is turned on.
- Verify that the power cord is securely connected to the TV and a working wall outlet.
- Test the wall outlet by connecting another device.
- Check if the auto-off function is activated in the settings menu, which might turn the TV off after a period of inactivity (e.g., 15 minutes).
The TV turns off suddenly.
- Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.
Abnormal Display
- Flicker: If the TV feels cold, a slight flicker upon turning on is normal and indicates no defect.
- Minute Dot Defects: Tiny red, green, or blue spots (deactivated pixels) may be visible on the screen but do not affect performance or reliability. Avoid touching the LCD screen for extended periods, as this may cause temporary distortion.
- Image Sticking: Displaying a still image for a prolonged period can cause image sticking. Avoid displaying fixed images for extended durations.
Generated Sound
- Cracking Noise: This may occur when watching or turning off the TV due to plastic thermal contraction/expansion from temperature and humidity changes. This is normal.
- Electrical Circuit Humming/Panel Buzzing: A low-level noise may be generated by the high-speed switching circuit. This sound varies by product and does not affect performance or reliability.
