Summary

Dell Version Control Catalog is an aggregation of all Dell Update Package (DUP) metadata currently released on ftp.dell.com.

The catalog is updated and maintained based on the following guidelines:

• Catalog is updated every fortnight to include any new DUPs for existing or new Dell Client Models.
• Catalog includes the latest version of a Dell Update Package for a component at any given time.
• Catalog for client systems are available at the URL http://downloads.dell.com/catalog/CatalogPC.cab

Best Practice

Most of the Dell updates require reboot, and all reboots can be deferred after the updates. Dell recommends performing the reboot as soon as possible to fit into the system maintenance windows but not to exceed 24 hours. Dell highly recommends customers to test out the updates and reboot strategy in a test environment before deploying in a live customer environment.
