¹ Doorlocks and trunk release features on the module will not operate on vehicles that are not equipped with OEM keyless entry.

² If puddle light function is active in vehicle settings.

³ Available on AL-CA modules in DATA and STANDARD mode. Available on DL modules in DATA mode only.

Note: The 10th character in the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) indicates the manufacturing year (e.g., 1=2001, 2=2002, A=2010, C=2012).

Component Locator

The following diagram illustrates key component locations within a vehicle's interior, labeled A, B, C, and D:

Knowledge Base

How to Test the "New Generation Passlock" Wire

The Passlock wire's voltage varies with ignition position. Expected readings:

When learning the module, ensure it reads 20 identical voltage values for each key position. Allow sufficient time for accurate sampling.

Warning

Vehicles with new generation Passlock systems typically lack a (+) Start wire. The vehicle uses the Passlock wire and Accessory Power Drop to determine crank timing. Do not connect the remote starter's (+) start wire to the vehicle.

Advanced Diagnostic

The module can display configuration information (Install Type, PK3 Detected, Passlock values, Keyless configuration, VIN Year Matching, Auto Relock) in the vehicle's info center. This information is broadcast at the end of the learn sequence or can be recalled by turning the key to ON and holding the programming button for 2 seconds.

"New Generation" Passlock/PK3+ Tamper Mode

This system has an anti-theft countdown. If an incorrect Passlock value is detected, the vehicle may enter Tamper Mode. The vehicle's BCM determines if it's regular, "bad" Passlock tamper, or PK3 tamper mode.

Passlock Tamper Mode Symptoms

Vehicle starts, ECM shuts off fuel injectors, and security indicator blinks. To exit:

  1. Repair the cause of the failure.
  2. Ensure the battery is fully charged. Apply e-brake to turn off DTRL on Canadian vehicles.
  3. Turn ignition ON, move key to START, then back to ON before the car starts.
  4. Leave ignition ON; security indicator will blink.
  5. After 10 minutes, indicator stops blinking, turns solid, then OFF.
  6. Turn ignition OFF, wait 15 seconds, attempt to start.
  7. If it starts, wait for the security indicator to turn OFF before shutting down the engine.
  8. If it fails to start, keep ignition ON. You may be in "BAD" Tamper mode and need to repeat the sequence up to 3 times (over 30 minutes).

PK3 Tamper Mode Symptoms

Vehicle does not start; info center shows PK3+ failure. To exit:

  1. Repair the cause of the failure.
  2. Close all vehicle doors.
  3. Wait at least 3 minutes.
  4. Start the vehicle with a valid key.
  5. If it fails, unplug the battery for 30 seconds, reconnect, and try starting again.
