1. General Provisions
These GTC govern online purchases made via www.ikea.hu. Products are ordered under the conditions specified herein. Items listed in Annex 1 are not available online. Basic product information is available on the IKEA website. Orders can be placed online even when stores are closed, but assembly, handover, and delivery will not be processed on public holidays or specific dates like December 24th and 31st.
The GTC define the rights and obligations of IKEA (seller) and the Customer. Both consumers and non-consumer organizations/legal entities can purchase online. Specific consumer protection provisions may not apply to non-consumer customers.
1.1. Customer Declaration
By ordering, the Customer confirms they have read and accepted the GTC and Data Privacy Policy. Orders are restricted to individuals aged 18 and over. Customers acknowledge IKEA is the exclusive distributor and are not permitted to resell or lease IKEA products. Products are for personal use only, not for business resale or leasing.
The purchase does not grant rights to use IKEA trademarks.
2. Order
Product displays on www.ikea.hu are for informational purposes and do not constitute an offer. IKEA may limit product quantities available for purchase.
2.1. Placing an Order
Registration is optional but personal data is required. Customers can review and modify order details before finalization. The order process involves adding items to the cart, completing the order form, and settling the purchase price. Tools are available to identify and correct data entry errors before payment. Order modification is not possible after placement. An order confirmation email will be sent. The purchase contract is in Hungarian and governed by Hungarian law.
2.4. Waiting List
For out-of-stock items, a waiting list is created. Prices may vary. Customers are notified when items become available. Delivery options include home delivery to the first lockable door or a selected room. A payment link is sent, and products are removed from stock upon payment. The waiting list is deleted after 8 days if no purchase is made.
3. Ownership
Product ownership transfers to the Customer upon delivery.
4. IKEA Delivery Methods
4.1. Personal Pickup (Click&Collect)
Customers receive email notification when products are ready for pickup. Pickup must occur by the selected date. Handover does not include assembly or installation. Instructions are provided in Hungarian. Customers must check packages for damage or missing items upon receipt. Pickup locations include Budaörs, Budapest, and Soroksár stores. 4.2. Types of Home Delivery Services
Home delivery services require an order value exceeding HUF 2000. Orders are typically fulfilled from the Soroksár store and may involve multiple deliveries. Customers must provide accurate contact and delivery details, ensuring someone is available to receive the order. Delivery dates and times are indicative, and IKEA is not liable for delays caused by external factors.
Delivery is handled by partners including DPD, Gebrüder Weiss, Carry All Hungary, Schenker, and Magyar Posta. Delivery does not include assembly or installation.
- Home Delivery Within 10 Business Days: Available to the first lockable door or a selected room, with a 4-10 day window and prior notification.
- Home Delivery on a Chosen Day: Available to the first lockable door or a selected room, with approximately 30 minutes' notice before arrival.
- Parcel Delivery: Offered for orders meeting specific size and inventory conditions. Delivery times are not selectable. DPD makes up to two delivery attempts.
- Delivery via Magyar Posta (MPL): Similar to parcel delivery, with up to two delivery attempts.
4.3. Pickup at IKEA Store Parcel Point
Automated parcel pickup points are available at Budaörs and Soroksár stores, accessible 24/7. Customers receive an SMS with an access code and must pick up items within 2 days. Third-party pickup is permitted.
4.4. PUSH Payment (Ordering Products by Phone)
Orders can be placed by phone, with payment via an email link. The contract is finalized upon IKEA's confirmation email after payment. The payment link is time-limited.
4.5. Receipt of Goods at Pick-up Points Outside Budapest Area
IKEA partners with Gebrüder Weiss for rural pickup points. Locations include Győr, Veszprém, Polgár, Szeged, Zalaegerszeg, and Pécs, with specified opening hours. Customers must pick up items within the designated timeframe.
4.6. Mobile Pickup Point
Mobile pickup points operated by Gebrüder Weiss and Carry All Hungary are available in various cities (e.g., Debrecen, Miskolc, Hatvan). Specific opening hours apply.
4.7. Parcel Pickup
- DPD Parcel Pickup: Customers can select DPD pickup points. Pickup is required within 7 days of arrival.
- Collect at "Magyar postal" offices: Customers can select Magyar Posta offices for pickup. Pickup is required within 10 working days of arrival.
5. Payment Terms
Payment options include bank cards (VISA, MasterCard/Maestro, AMEX), IKEA Gift Card/Credit Card, and PayPal. Raiffeisen Bank Zrt. and PayPal handle card payments. Prices are final and include VAT. An electronic invoice will be issued.
6. Consumer Rights and Warranty Provisions
6.1 Right of Withdrawal
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the contract after receiving products. Refunds are issued within 14 days using the original payment method. Return shipping costs are borne by the consumer. Certain products (e.g., sealed health/hygiene items, custom-made goods) are exempt.
6.2 Product Returns Within 365 Days
Customers can return unused products within 365 days for a refund or exchange. This includes a 90-night trial for mattresses.

6.4 Supplementary Warranty, Product Liability, and Guarantees
IKEA is subject to mandatory warranty obligations (2 or 3 years depending on price). Voluntary warranties are also offered (e.g., 12 months for bulbs, plants, batteries). Details on repair, replacement, and refund procedures are outlined.
7. IKEA's Right to Withdraw from the Contract
IKEA may withdraw from the contract under specific conditions, including production cessation, technical issues, product recalls, customer non-acceptance, or if customer declarations are found to be untrue.
8. Information Regarding Data Processing
IKEA Lakberendezési Kft. is the data controller. Data processing is based on contract performance and legal obligations. Customers have rights regarding their data (access, correction, erasure, etc.). Complaints regarding data processing can be directed to the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
9. Disclaimer
IKEA is not liable for damages arising from website usage, internet issues, technical errors, or force majeure. Prices are subject to change due to obvious errors.
10. Final Provisions
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. Consumer complaints can be directed to relevant authorities, and disputes can be settled out of court through conciliation bodies.
