Thank you for choosing this ABUS product! Please read this guide carefully before installation and use. Keep these instructions and provide all users with instruction on how to use it. Failure to observe these instructions can lead to injury!

Important Safety Information

  • Keep packaging material away from children: Danger of suffocation! ⚠️
  • The product may only be used for its intended purpose. Any modification to the product is prohibited.
  • Attention Risk of injury: Danger of crush injuries when opening the lock!
  • If you use an additional chain, always remove this before starting your journey.
  • Do not use a high-pressure cleaner or aggressive cleaning agents to clean the lock.

Mounting Guidelines

Only mount the lock on suitable frames and in positions where it does not interfere with riding. Do not mount the lock on carbon frames, the front frame, or obviously defective struts.

There must be a distance of at least 6 mm (? ≥ 6 mm) between the fitted lock and the moving parts of the bike.

Make sure that there is no dirt or foreign material on the lock each time before use. Check the lock regularly to ensure that it is mounted securely.

The lock must be closed when the bike is transported on a car. ?

Installation Options

Option 1: Direct Frame Mounting

Diagrams illustrate mounting the lock directly onto the bicycle frame. This option requires Hex 2.5 and Hex 4 tools. A torque of 2 Nm is specified for the mounting screws. Visuals indicate different mounting positions labeled Opt. A and Opt. B.
  1. Select a suitable mounting position (Opt. A or Opt. B) on the bicycle frame.
  2. Secure the lock using the provided screws and appropriate tools (Hex 2.5, Hex 4).
  3. Tighten screws to a torque of 2 Nm.

Option 2: Mounting with ABUS FMU (Frame Mounting Unit)

This option requires the separately available ABUS FMU (Frame Mounting Unit). Diagrams show the process of attaching the FMU to the frame and then attaching the lock to the FMU. The steps include removing an adapter ("Adapter entnehmen"). Tools required are Hex 2.5 and Hex 4, with a torque setting of 2 Nm. Visuals indicate different mounting positions labeled Opt. A and Opt. B for the FMU.
  1. Attach the ABUS FMU to the bicycle frame using the appropriate screws and tools (Hex 2.5, Hex 4).
  2. Tighten FMU screws to a torque of 2 Nm.
  3. Remove any necessary adapter from the lock or FMU as indicated.
  4. Attach the lock to the mounted FMU.
  5. Ensure the lock is securely fastened.

Operating the Lock

General operation diagrams show inserting the key (?) and turning it to unlock. The "2. click!" indicates the lock is disengaged. A "100%" indicator is shown, possibly related to the key position or lock status.
  1. Insert the key into the lock.
  2. Turn the key to unlock the mechanism. Listen for the "2. click!" sound.
  3. Ensure the lock is fully open before attempting to remove it or operate the bike.

Opening the Lock

A diagram illustrates the action: "Turn and hold key to open".

To open the lock, insert the key, turn it, and hold the key in the open position.

Using with an Additional Chain (Optional)

A diagram shows how an additional chain might be used with the lock. A strong warning is present: "If you use an additional chain, always remove this before starting your journey."

⚠️ Important: If using an additional chain, always remove it completely before riding your bicycle.
