Component and Button Description

The monitor is controlled using a joystick button located at the bottom of the monitor.

How to Use the Joystick Button

You can easily control the functions of the monitor by pressing the joystick button or moving it left/right with your finger.

Basic Functions

Moving and Lifting the Monitor

Follow these instructions to prevent the monitor from being scratched or damaged during moving or lifting:

Attaching the Stand Base

For 22MK4/24MK4/22BK4/24BK4 Series:

  1. Place the monitor face down on a soft cloth to protect the screen.
  2. Align the stand body with the monitor's mounting points and secure it with screws (torque: 10-12 kgf).

For 27MK4/27BK4 Series:

  1. Place the monitor face down on a soft cloth to protect the screen.
  2. Align the stand body with the monitor's mounting points and secure it with screws (torque: 10-12 kgf).

CAUTION: To protect the screen from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.

WARNING: To avoid injury, hold the base when assembling the stand body and base.

CAUTION:

NOTE: Disassemble in the reverse order of assembly.

Mounting on a table

  1. Lift and tilt the monitor into an upright position on a table. Leave at least 100 mm (3.94 inches) space from the wall for proper ventilation.
  2. Connect the AC-DC adapter and power cord to a wall outlet.
  3. Press the joystick button on the bottom of the monitor to turn it on.

CAUTION: Unplug the power cord prior to moving or installing the monitor. There is a risk of electric shock.

Mounting on a wall

For proper ventilation, allow a clearance of 100 mm (3.94 inches) on each side and from the wall. Detailed instructions are available in the optional Tilt Wall Mounting Bracket Installation and Setup Guide.

If mounting to a wall, attach the wall mounting interface (optional parts) to the back of the set. Attach carefully to prevent dropping.

USING THE MONITOR SET

Connecting to a PC

Your monitor supports Plug & Play, allowing a PC to recognize a connected device without user configuration.

D-SUB connection

Transmits analog video from your PC to the monitor. Connect using the supplied D-sub 15 pin signal cable.

HDMI connection

Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor. Connect using the HDMI cable.

Connecting to AV Devices

HDMI connection

Transmits digital video and audio signals from your AV devices to the monitor. Connect your AV device with the HDMI cable.

CUSTOMIZING SETTINGS

Activating the Main Menu

  1. Press the joystick button on the bottom of the monitor.
  2. Move the joystick up/down (▲/▼) and left/right (◀/▶) to set options.
  3. Press the joystick button again to close the main menu.

Main Menu Features

Main Menu Option Description
Settings Configures the screen settings.
Picture Mode Select picture mode for the best display effect.
Input Sets input mode.
Power Off Turns off the monitor.
Exit Exits the main menu.

Settings > Quick Settings

Setting Description
Brightness Adjusts the contrast and brightness of the screen.
Contrast Adjusts the contrast and brightness of the screen.
Volume Adjusts the volume (for HDMI only).
NOTE: You can adjust Mute/Unmute by moving the joystick button to ▼ in the Volume menu.

Settings > Input

Setting Description
Input List Selects the input mode.
Aspect Ratio Adjusts the aspect ratio of the screen.
Full Wide Displays video in wide-screen, regardless of the video signal input.
Original Displays video according to the aspect ratio of the video signal input.

NOTE: Aspect Ratio options may be disabled at the recommended resolution (1920 x 1080).

Settings > Picture

Category Setting Description
Picture Mode Custom Allows the user to adjust each element. The color mode of the main menu can be adjusted.
Reader Optimizes the screen for viewing documents. Brightness can be increased in the OSD menu.
Photo Optimizes the screen to view photos.
Cinema Optimizes the screen to improve the visual effects of a video.
Color Weakness For users who cannot distinguish between red and green. Enables users with color weakness to easily distinguish between the two colors.
Picture Adjust Game Optimizes the screen for gameplay.
Picture Adjust Brightness Adjusts the contrast and brightness of the screen.
Contrast Adjusts the contrast and brightness of the screen.
Sharpness Adjusts the sharpness of the screen.
SUPER RESOLUTION+ High: Optimized for crystal clear images, effective for high-quality video or games.
Middle: Optimized for comfortable viewing, effective for UCC or SD video.
Low: Optimized for smooth and natural images, effective for slow-moving pictures or still images.
Off: Select for everyday viewing. SUPER RESOLUTION+ is turned off.
Picture Adjust Black Level Sets the offset level (for HDMI only). Offset: the darkest color the monitor can display for a video signal.
DFC On: Adjusts brightness automatically according to the screen.
Off: Disables the DFC feature.

NOTE: The Color Weakness mode is subsidiary for users with color weakness. If you feel uncomfortable, turn it off. This function may not distinguish some colors in some images.

Settings > Picture > Game Adjust

Setting Description
Response Time Sets a response time for displayed pictures based on screen speed. For normal environments, use 'Fast'. For fast-moving pictures, use 'Faster'. Setting to 'Faster' may cause image sticking.
  • Faster: Sets response time to faster.
  • Fast: Sets response time to fast.
  • Normal: Sets response time to normal.
  • Off: Disables response time improvement.
FreeSync Provides seamless and natural images by synchronizing the vertical frequency of the input signal with that of the output signal.
Black Stabilizer Controls black contrast for better visibility in dark scenes. Increasing the value brightens low gray levels; reducing it darkens them and increases dynamic contrast.
Cross Hair Provides a center mark for First Person Shooter (FPS) games. Users can select from four cross hair options. The feature is automatically turned off when the monitor is off or in energy saving mode.
Gamma Mode 1, 2, 3: Higher gamma values result in darker images; lower values result in lighter images.
Mode 4: Default setting if gamma adjustment is not needed.
Color Temp Selects factory default picture color:
  • Warm: Reddish tone.
  • Medium: Between red and blue tone.
  • Cool: Bluish tone.
  • Custom: Adjust red, green, or blue colors individually.
Red/Green/Blue Customize picture color using Red, Green, and Blue adjustments.

FreeSync CAUTION:

Configuration Adjust (D-SUB only)

Setting Description
Horizontal Moves the image left and right.
Vertical Moves the image up and down.
Clock Minimizes vertical bars or stripes on the screen background. The horizontal screen size will also change.
Phase Adjusts the focus of the display, removing horizontal noise and sharpening characters.

Resolution (D-SUB only)

User can set the desired resolution. This option is enabled only when the computer's screen resolution is set to one of the following (except when the PC outputs the wrong resolution):

Picture Reset

Option Action
No Cancels the selection.
Yes Returns to the default settings.

Settings > General

Setting Description
Language Choose the language for control names.
SMART ENERGY SAVING
  • High: Saves energy using high-efficiency SMART ENERGY SAVING.
  • Low: Saves energy using low-efficiency SMART ENERGY SAVING.
  • Off: Disables the SMART ENERGY SAVING feature.
Automatic Standby The monitor automatically switches to standby mode after a certain period.
OSD Lock Prevents incorrect key input.
  • On: Key input is disabled.
  • Off: Key input is enabled.

NOTE: All functions except OSD Lock mode, brightness, Contrast, Input, Information, and Volume are disabled when OSD Lock is On.

Information Displays Model, Serial Number, Total Power On Time, and Resolution.
Reset Do you want to reset your settings?
  • No: Cancels the selection.
  • Yes: Returns to the default settings.

NOTE: Saving Data depends on the panel. If SMART ENERGY SAVING is set to High or Low, monitor luminance may vary based on the source.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Check the following before calling for service:

No image appears

Can't you control some functions in OSD?

CAUTION:

Display image is incorrect

Unrecognized monitor message

The screen is flickering.
