Disposal

Packaging Disposal

[Dispose of packaging and product environmentally] The packaging consists of environmentally friendly materials that can be disposed of at local recycling collection points. Observe the identification of packaging materials for waste separation; they are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meaning: 1-7: Plastics / 20-22: Paper and Cardboard / 80-98: Composite materials. Information on disposal options for used products can be obtained from your municipal or city administration.

Product Disposal

For environmental protection, do not dispose of the used product with household waste, but dispose of it properly. You can obtain information about collection points and their opening hours from your competent administration. The symbol of the crossed-out trash can means that this device must not be disposed of in household waste at the end of its service life. The device must be handed in at designated collection points, recycling centers, or disposal companies. Retailers of electrical and electronic equipment, as well as food retailers, are also obliged to take back products. Lidl offers return options directly in its branches and stores. Return and disposal are free of charge for you. When purchasing a new device, you have the right to return a corresponding old device free of charge. Additionally, you have the option to return up to three old devices free of charge, regardless of the purchase of a new device, provided they are not larger than 25 cm in any dimension. Please delete all personal data before returning. Please remove batteries or accumulators not enclosed by the old device, as well as lamps that can be removed without damage, before returning, and hand them in for separate collection.

Battery/Accumulator Disposal

[Do not dispose of batteries/accumulators in household waste] Defective or used batteries/accumulators must be recycled. Return batteries/accumulators and/or the product via the offered collection facilities. Environmental pollution due to incorrect disposal of batteries/accumulators! Batteries/accumulators may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to special waste treatment. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead. Therefore, always return used batteries and accumulators to communal collection points. As a consumer, you are legally obliged to return all batteries and accumulators, whether they contain pollutants or not, to a collection point in your municipality/district or to a retailer so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Defective or used batteries/accumulators must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Batteries and accumulators can contain substances that are harmful to human health and the environment. Negative impacts can only be avoided through separate collection and recycling of old batteries and accumulators. Be particularly careful when handling lithium-containing batteries and accumulators, as improper use poses an increased fire risk. Tape the poles to prevent external short circuits. Use long-life batteries or rechargeable batteries to reduce waste from old batteries. Observe the storage instructions and avoid full discharge and recharge cycles of the battery to prolong its lifespan. Furthermore, do not leave batteries or electrical and electronic equipment with batteries or accumulators in public spaces to avoid littering. Check possibilities for reusing batteries instead of disposing of them, for example, by repairing the battery.
