Overview

Cisco IOS XR Release 25.1.2 is an extended maintenance release for Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Series routers. This release does not introduce new software features or hardware. For detailed information on the Cisco IOS XR release model and support, refer to the Software Lifecycle Support Statement - IOS XR.

The Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Router is built on Cisco IOS XR software, inheriting its extensive routing functionality. The features available on the Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Router are detailed in the Supported Cisco IOS XR Technologies section. The Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Appliance offers a similar user experience to Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers and supports North-bound APIs. It does not support hardware-specific configurations. Configuration commands for control and data plane features are consistent with those for the Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers. Compatibility

Appliance Model

The Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Appliance is pre-installed with Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Router software and shipped on bare metal UCS server hardware. It supports hyper scalability, capable of handling up to 70 million route prefixes when configured as a Virtual Route Reflector, eliminating the need for a hypervisor layer. The Appliance also supports Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) for simplified integration into existing networks.

A firmware update package, xrv9k-ucs-c220m7-huu-container-4.3.5.250001.tar.gz, is available for the UCS M7 appliance, including mandatory security fixes for CIMC and BIOS.
