Sony HDC-3200: 2/3-inch 4K 3CMOS Camera System

Overview

The HDC-3200 system camera delivers spectacular 4K image quality and impressive versatility for live production. It shares operational features with Sony's acclaimed HDC Series cameras and is equipped with a highly sensitive 4K 3CMOS sensor featuring Global Shutter Technology. This combination provides sparkling picture quality with extremely low noise, even in dimly lit studios.

Features

Sensitive 2/3-inch 4K CMOS Imager with Global Shutter

The high-performance 2/3-inch 4K CMOS image sensor at the core of the HDC-3200 offers exceptional sensitivity and an impressive signal-to-noise ratio. Sony's Global Shutter Technology eliminates the 'jello effect' and banding noise, ensuring stable and precise 4K (UHD) images, even when capturing fast-moving subjects. This camera is ideal for news studios with LED walls or live entertainment venues, providing premium pictures with exquisite 4K detail and high dynamic range, supporting the ITU-R BT.2020 wide color space.

Quick Conversion from Handheld to Large Lens Operation

Compatibility with Sony's new HDLA-3505 and HDLA-3501 large lens adaptors enhances flexibility in live production environments. These adaptors allow for fast, one-touch mounting of the camera head without complex wiring or adjustments. The HDC-3200 can be undocked from the adaptor without needing to remove the lens, saving valuable time.

Bigger Returns from Your Production Assets

Sharing familiar ergonomics and workflow with Sony's HDC camera family, the HDC-3200 integrates seamlessly with a wide range of system accessories, including viewfinders, large lens adaptors, and camera control units. This compatibility reduces training requirements and optimizes the use of existing hardware inventory.

Easy in-CCU Recording

With the optional HKCU-REC55, the HDCU-3500 Camera Control Unit can record 4K video and audio directly to the CCU, eliminating the need for an external recording device. Recording can be managed remotely from the CCU, allowing camera operators to focus on capturing images.

Ready for IP Live

The HDC-3200 is a cost-effective solution for IP Live production workflows. It can be integrated into ST 2110 production infrastructure via the HDCU-3500/3100 CCU with an IP interface option, or using the HDCE-TX50/TX30 camera extension adaptor.

Simultaneous HDR and SDR Production

The HDC-3200 supports Sony's SR Live workflow, simplifying simultaneous HDR and SDR program production for a single crew.

Optical Low-Pass Filter

In scenarios where a HDC-3200 Series camera's built-in filter does not fully mitigate moiré caused by LED walls, the optional optical low-pass filter (OLP) can further reduce this effect. Part number: 1-856-731-31.
