Using Your Remote Control

Note: Throughout this manual, 'press' refers to pressing for less than 1 second; 'press and hold' refers to pressing for more than 3 seconds.

Arming the Security System

To arm the system, exit the vehicle, close all doors, then press the [button]. The parking lights will flash 1 time, indicating the system is armed, has locked the doors (if equipped and connected) and activated the starter disable feature. The LED status indicator will blink steadily, once per second.

NOTE: The system is equipped with a feature called Silent Choice. If enabled, the system requires a second press of the [button] to activate an audible arming response from the vehicle.

Disarming the Security System

To disarm the system press the [button] 2 times. The parking lights will flash 1 time, indicating the system is disarmed and has unlocked the doors (if equipped and connected).

NOTE: The system is equipped with a feature called Silent Choice. If enabled, the system requires a second double press of the [button] to activate an audible disarming response from the vehicle. If your system is set up for 2 step unlock, a third press of unlock will activate the audible response.

Two Stage Door Unlock (Optional)

If this feature is enabled on your system, pressing the [button] 2 times will unlock only the driver's door. Press [button] 2 times again within three seconds to unlock the remaining doors.

Bypassing The Shock Sensor

The included security shock sensor has two stages of detection: Warn-Away and Full Trigger. To arm the system and shock sensor press the [button]. The system will beep and the lights will flash 1 time.

To arm the system and bypass the Warn-Away detection stage, press the [button] 2 times within 5 seconds.

To arm the alarm and bypass both detection stages, press the [button] 3 times within 5 seconds.

City Mode

City Mode allows the user to change the sound of the alarm system to make it easily identified when the alarm is triggered. To enter City Mode, press the [button] 4 times within 10 seconds.

User Selectable Notification Chirps

System ARM/DISARM chirps can be toggled ON or OFF without entering the programming feature banks.

  1. Turn the ignition ON then OFF.
  2. Press and release the valet/programming button 3 times. The system will respond with 1 chirp for ON or 2 chirps for OFF.

User Selectable LED

This feature controls whether the LED is ON or OFF when the system is Armed/Locked and can be toggled ON or OFF without entering the programming feature banks.

  1. Turn the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
  2. Press and hold the valet/programming button for 5 seconds. The system LED will respond with 1 flash for ON or 2 flashes for OFF.

Programmed Transmitter Notification

As a security precaution, each time the vehicle's ignition is turned on, the status LED light will flash the number of transmitters programmed into the system. This helps to identify unauthorized transmitters from accessing your vehicle. If you believe an unauthorized transmitter has been programmed to your system, contact your installing dealer for assistance.

Valet Mode

When Valet Mode is activated, the status LED will light solid, and all security and remote start functions will be disabled. To enter or exit Valet Mode, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the vehicle's ignition ON.
  2. Push and hold the programming/valet button.
  3. The LED will turn on solid when Valet Mode is active.
  4. Release the programming/valet button.

Manually Overriding the Security System

Your system can be disarmed without the use of the transmitter. This is necessary to operate your vehicle if the transmitter is lost or its battery fails. To bypass the alarm system:

  1. Open the vehicle door. The alarm will sound.
  2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
  3. Within 10 seconds, press and release the valet push button switch.

The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (by-passed) mode. You can now start and operate the vehicle normally.

Stand Alone Valet Override (Optional)

Your system can be disarmed without the use of the transmitter or valet button. This is necessary if you need to operate your vehicle when the transmitter is lost or its battery fails. To bypass the alarm system:

  1. Open the vehicle door. The alarm will sound.
  2. Cycle the ignition key ON, OFF, ON.
  3. Within 10 seconds, press and release the Brake pedal 3 times.

The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (by-passed) mode. You can now start and operate the vehicle normally. This feature must be programmed ON by an authorized dealer.

Custom Code Valet Override (Optional)

Unlike the default Valet Override, Custom Code Override is a user-personalized code that offers a higher level of security. If the user chooses to use Custom Code Override, Feature Bank 2, Feature 9 must be programmed for "Custom Code". Once the option has been selected, the code must be programmed. Once the Custom Code is programmed, it cannot be changed without first disarming the alarm.

Custom Code Override Procedure

The Custom Code is made up of 2 numbers. Each chosen number must be between digits 1-9. The default Custom Code is “11”. To disarm the alarm using the Custom Code option:

  1. Turn the vehicle ignition to ON.
  2. Within 5 seconds, Press the [button] 1 time.
  3. Within 5 seconds, Turn the ignition OFF/ON.
  4. Within 5 seconds, Press the [button] 1 time.
  5. Turn the vehicle ignition to OFF then ON to start the vehicle.

Custom Code Programming Procedure

In this example, the user has selected Custom Code "23". To program a user-selected custom code:

Start with the alarm disarmed.

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  2. Within 10 seconds, press the [button] 3 times to enter programming.
  3. Within 10 seconds, Cycle the ignition OFF/ON, OFF/ON, OFF/ON. The system will beep 1 time.
  4. Within 10 seconds, Press the [button] 2 times. This number will indicate the first digit of the chosen Custom Code.
  5. Within 10 seconds, Cycle the ignition OFF/ON.
  6. Within 10 seconds, Press the [button] 3 times. This number will indicate the second digit of the chosen Custom Code.
  7. Cycle the ignition OFF.

If the Custom Code was accepted, the LED will flash the first number (e.g., 2), pause, then the second number (e.g., 3). This will repeat 2 more times to confirm the Custom Code entry. If after 15 seconds the LED does not flash, please repeat steps 1-7.

Using Your Remote Starter

Remote Starting Your Vehicle

To activate the remote start function, press and hold the [button] for 3 seconds. The system will sound, the parking lights will flash 1 time, and the system will check the vehicle to ensure it is safe to start. If all safety parameters are correct, the vehicle will start. The vehicle's parking lights will turn on (or flash depending on system settings) as a visual indication that the vehicle has started and is running.

If your vehicle stalls or does not start, the system will pause 5 seconds, then try 3 more times to start the vehicle (a total of 4 attempts). The system will pause 5 seconds between each start attempt.

Remote Start Shutdown

  5. Within 1 minute of step 1, press the [button] 1 time to lock the vehicle's doors. The vehicle will shut down and sound 2 short chirps then 1 long chirp to confirm ready mode is set.

To Enter & Exit the Vehicle while (Manual Transmission) Remote Start Ready Mode is already active without cancelling Remote Start Ready Mode

Note: If the 2 short/1 long tone is not heard, then Ready Mode has not been set.

Cancelling Remote Start Ready Mode - Manual Transmission Vehicles Only

The system will exit remote start ready mode if any of the following occur:

To replace the remote control batteries:

  1. Using a coin, disassemble the halves of the remote control.
  2. Remove the old battery, observing the +/- symbols on the batteries, and replace with a new battery.
  3. Reassemble the halves of the remote control.
  4. Test operation of the remote control.
