Kit Layout

The kit includes a dash bezel, LCD screen, climate controls, aftermarket radio, and user programmable hard buttons. A vehicle feature checklist is provided to confirm compatibility.

Operating the Display

The 5.2" LCD screen displays various options including:

Control Quick Reference:

Touch icons to select menu options. Swipe left or right to view available screens. To activate a camera, touch the corresponding icon on the Camera Control screen.

Accessing Common Settings

Heating / Cooling Options: Touch the desired icon on the HVAC screen and select the function to activate.

Vehicle Settings: Touch the "Vehicle Settings" icon on the Options screen to adjust language, units, and driving assistance features.

Display Settings: Touch the "Display" icon to adjust background and button color, and screen brightness. Use the color wheel to select desired colors.

Hard Buttons

Four hard buttons below the LCD screen can be assigned to control Climate Control functions, activate cameras, or manage screen settings. Options include Climate Controls (Max A/C, Sync, Heated Wheel, Fan Mode), Camera Functions (Camera 1-5), and Screen Shortcuts (Climate, Camera, Gauges).

Assigning Functions to Hard Buttons:

1. Press the "Buttons" icon in the settings menu.
2. Touch the tab corresponding to the desired hard button.
3. Click on the desired operation (Climate Control, Camera, etc.).
4. Select the specific function or camera to assign. Repeat for each button.

Introduction and Features

The RPK4-CH4101 is a complete radio replacement kit for 2013-2019 RAM trucks with an 8" screen. It integrates climate control retention and adds a 5.2" LCD screen for enhanced vehicle control. Features include steering wheel control retention, factory reverse camera retention, and AM/FM reception. Some advanced features may require additional accessories.

Important Notes:

• Compatibility: 8" screen vehicles, 2019 RAM Trucks Classic body style only.
• Does Not Retain: Cluster Display Features, Compass, Clock, Phone/Navigation pop-ups, uConnect, WiFi-Hotspot, SOS/Assist, Factory Amplifier Features, Speed Controlled Volume.
• Parking Sensors: Use the included external speaker for chime functionality.
• Additional Cameras: Use RPA-16P5V for up to 5 cameras.

Installation

Part One: Disassembly of Factory Dash

Instructions are provided for trucks with and without a center console, detailing the removal of the dash panel and related components using Phillips head screws, T-20 torx screws, and 7mm sockets.

Part Two: Radio Removal / Dash Preparation

This section covers removing the factory radio, disconnecting wiring harnesses, and relocating the factory security module if present. It also includes instructions for cutting the sub-dash for specific model years (2013-2017 and 2018-2019).

Part Three: Installing the New Dash Panel

Instructions for removing the factory dash bezel, installing the new PAC dash bezel, and inserting the appropriate climate control button inserts (Auto or Blank) are provided.

Part Four: Configuring and Wiring the RadioPRO Interface

This section details the module layout, connector functions, and DIP switch settings for various radio brands. Wiring connections for interface connectors, vehicle connectors, and the reverse camera retention harness are explained. It also covers adding multiple cameras using the RPA-16P5V harness.

Setup and Testing

General Testing: Verify all screens and functions operate correctly after installation. Check volume, balance, and fade. Ensure climate controls, information screen, vehicle settings, gauges, and camera control are functional.

Camera Setup: The camera settings menu allows setup for up to 5 cameras. Camera 1 is fixed as the rear camera. Inputs 2-5 can be assigned to various camera types (Front, Left, Right, Bed, Nanny, Trailer, Other). Automatic camera triggers can be set for front, left, and right cameras based on turn signals or speed thresholds.

Steering Wheel Controls: The interface is pre-programmed with factory SWC functions. Custom programming is available for re-assigning functions or enabling dual command functionality (short press/long press).

Audio Adjustments: For trucks with factory amplifiers or parking sensors, the 5.2" display allows adjustment of factory amplifier audio settings and parking sensor chime volume.

Troubleshooting

Common issues addressed include:

• Dual zone climate controls displaying as single zone.
• Climate Control fan speed issues.
• Missing vehicle functions after reset.
• Inoperable steering wheel controls.
• Inoperable reverse camera.

A table of LED patterns and their corresponding states and actions is provided for diagnosis.

Product Updates (Firmware)

Firmware updates for the RP4.2-CH4101 interface and the 5.2" LCD screen are available via the PAC RadioPRO app. Instructions for updating firmware are provided.

Reset / Restoring Interface Factory Settings

Factory default settings can be restored by pressing and holding the programming button on the module until the status LED blinks red.
