Safety Information
- The motion light is not a toy and should be kept out of reach from small children.
- Both the motion light and solar panel are weather-resistant.
- The motion light can be mounted indoors, but the solar panel must be installed outdoors to receive sunlight.
- Installation may require a second person, especially if using a step ladder.
- Before installation, lay out all components and verify against the part list.
- Never look directly into the solar motion light when it is illuminated.
Battery Replacement Instructions
- Use only rechargeable batteries.
- Ensure the replacement battery specifications match the original battery.
- Observe correct polarity (+ and -) when installing the battery.
- Do not mix old and new batteries, nor mix different types of batteries (alkaline, carbon-zinc, Ni-Cad, Ni-MH, etc.).
- Dispose of Lithium-ion batteries in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Care & Maintenance
- Periodically check the connection between the solar panel and the light.
- Adjust the solar panel angle to optimize sun exposure, especially during winter.
- Clean the solar panel regularly with a damp cotton cloth for optimal performance and battery charging.
- Clean the motion light lenses periodically using the same method.
- Avoid using abrasive materials on the solar panel.
Product Features
- Super Bright LEDs
- Adjustable motion sensor
- Adjustable time and sensitivity settings
- Solar panel with a 15 ft wire
Installation
Recommended Tools: Power Drill, Phillips Screwdriver
Important: Position the solar panel for maximum sunlight exposure, avoiding obstructions like trees or overhangs.
Surface Installation
- Step 1: Use a power drill to create holes on the mounting surface. Use 4 wall plugs and screws to fasten the solar panel to the surface.
- Step 2: Use a power drill to create holes on the mounting surface. Place the mounting plate (smooth side out) over the holes and use 2 wall plugs and screws to fasten it.
- Step 3: Securely buckle the motion light into the mounting plate.
- Step 4: Installation complete.
Perpendicular Installation
- Step 1: Use a power drill to create holes on the mounting surface. Use 4 wall plugs and screws to fasten the solar panel to the surface.
- Step 2: Use a power drill to create holes on a perpendicular corner. Place the bracket plate over the holes and use the included wall plugs and screws to fasten it to the surface.
- Step 3: Securely buckle the motion light and mounting plate to the brackets.
- Step 4: Installation completed.
Sensor Head Adjustment
After installation, aim the sensor head towards the desired detection area, ensuring the controls face downwards. Adjust the sensor head up/down and left/right for optimal coverage.
Recommended Install Height: 6.5-8.25 feet above the ground. At this height, the fixture provides a detection distance of up to 72 feet at 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
The sensor is more sensitive to motion across its field of view than motion directly towards it.
Switch Function & Battery Location
The battery is located behind the light fixture's housing. Turn the light to the OFF position before opening the housing. Remove four screws to access the battery compartment.
Mode Button: Cycles through modes: Sensor Mode, Sensor Mode (ECO), Dim to Sensor Mode (ECO), On Mode, and Power Off.
Time Dial: Sets the duration the light stays on after motion detection (30, 60, or 120 seconds). The TEST setting allows for initial setup, after which the light operates only in darkness.
Sensitivity Dial: Adjusts the detection range (low, medium, or high).
Connect the solar panel wire to the socket under the light fixture to begin charging.
Remote Control
The remote control offers the following modes:
- Security Mode: High brightness for 15 seconds upon motion detection, then maintains high brightness for another 15 seconds before turning off.
- Power Off: Turns the light off completely. Requires manual re-selection of a mode to reactivate.
- Sensor Mode: High brightness activated by motion, duration set by the time dial.
- Sensor Mode (ECO): Medium brightness activated by motion, duration set by the time dial.
- Dim to Sensor Mode (ECO): Constant low brightness, with motion activating medium brightness for a duration set by the time dial.
- On Mode: Light stays on at medium brightness (240lm, 2W) for 4 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Where should the solar panel be mounted?
- A: Mount the solar panel where it can receive the maximum amount of light. In the Northern Hemisphere, this is typically south-facing.
- Q: Does the solar panel require direct sun to charge?
- A: The solar panel can charge the battery in both direct and indirect light. For best results, optimize sun exposure.
- Q: Can additional or extended cable wire for the solar panel be purchased?
- A: No extensions are available. Modifying the cable will void the warranty.
- Q: Why does the solar motion light appear to "strobe" or flash?
- A: Rapid flashing may indicate an undercharged battery. Switch the light to OFF and charge for three full sunny days. Then, switch back to AUTO. The light will only turn on in darkness.
- Q: Will decorative or street lights affect the motion sensor's operation?
- A: Yes, the sensor is light-sensitive. For nighttime use, ensure no other light activates the motion sensor.
- Q: What type of battery does my solar motion light require?
- A: The light requires one 3.7V 18650 2200 mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
