Step 1: Mounting the backplate

Place the Intel backplate screws into the notches on the rear side of the Intel backplate. Note the positions for your specific socket. Use the O-rings to fix the backplate screws to the Intel backplate. Once assembled for your socket, position the backplate under the motherboard, ensuring the screws align with the motherboard holes.

Step 2: Installation of the mounting brackets

Place the plastic spacers onto the previously positioned Intel backplate. Then, position the Intel mounting brackets over the plastic spacers and secure them with the thumb screws. Ensure the mounting bracket position matches your CPU socket. A cross-tip screwdriver can be used.

Step 3: Mounting the CPU cooler

⚠️ Caution: Remove the protective covering from the cooler's base before installation. The pre-applied thermal paste is not for consumption. If swallowed, drink water and seek medical attention. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Place the cooler unit onto the CPU. Screw the cooler down alternately and firmly using a cross-tip screwdriver.

Step 4: Mounting the fan (Pure Rock 3)

Fasten the Pure Wings 3 fan onto the cooler unit using the fan clips. Connect the fan cable to the motherboard's CPU fan header (PWM signal). To detach the fan, push the notches of the fan clips away from the fan. The fan clips can be removed and adjusted for height.

Step 1: Assembly of the cooler mounting frame

Prior to mounting the cooler, detach both plastic holders of the AMD retention module. The motherboard's factory-mounted backplate is required for further installation.

Step 2: Positioning spacers and brackets

Place the four plastic spacers onto the backplate bolts protruding through the front side of the motherboard. Choose position "0" for maximum compatibility with your motherboard. Now affix both long AMD mounting brackets with the AMD backplate screws. For an alternative assembly (e.g., for Ryzen 3000, 5000, 7000, or 9000 processors requiring an offset position), choose position "8" and affix the brackets with AMD backplate screws.

Step 6: Synchronization of ARGB illumination

The Pure Rock 3 LX allows you to synchronize the ARGB illumination directly via your motherboard. To do this, turn off your system before installation. Connect the ARGB connector to your motherboard's ARGB header. The ARGB illumination will then be controlled by the motherboard's software.
