Introduction to ErP and ELD Regulations
Immergas is committed to environmental responsibility, aligning with key European Union directives aimed at reducing pollution and improving living standards. The ErP (Energy Related Products) directive (2009/125/CE) sets stringent guidelines for the design and manufacturing of eco-compatible, energy-efficient products. The goal, often referred to as the 20-20-20 targets, aims to increase energy efficiency by 20%, reduce CO₂ emissions by 20%, and raise the share of renewable energy to 20% by 2020.
The Energy Labelling Directive (ELD, 2010/30/CE) mandates clear energy labeling for power-consuming devices. This system enables consumers to quickly assess the environmental compatibility and performance of products. Labels highlight energy efficiency classes (from A++ to G), sound power levels, and other performance factors.
Key dates for compliance included mandatory energy-efficient circulators from August 1, 2015, and the ErP and ELD directives entering into force, requiring energy labeling for all appliances placed on the market from September 26, 2015. These regulations are not retroactive.
