Troubleshooting

4KSW21-DM

1. What can I do if there is no video output?

  • Check if the power button on the front panel is turned on with light.
  • Check if you have connected the host PC to the right zone of the switcher and it is selected.
  • Check if you have chosen the right HDMI input channel on your display device.
  • Make sure all of your HDMI cables work normally. You can connect the source to the display device directly via one of these HDMI cables, to check if video can be shown normally on the display.

2. HDMI video can work, but USB connection is not working. What should I do?

  • Please ensure you connect the PC to the "HDMI In" Ports and "USB Host" Port in the same group.
  • Please ensure you connect your USB devices to the right three blue USB 3.0 ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  • Try connecting the USB host cable to another USB port on your PC.
  • Try connecting the USB devices to the PC directly without using the KVM switch. Then check if the USB connection works.

3. What can I do if HDMI signal can't be switched?

  • Please ensure the KVM switch is toggled to "KVM mode". If it is in "USB mode", only USB signal can be switched.

4. What can I do if the hotkey is not working?

  • Please ensure your keyboard is connected to the left white USB 1.1 port (with a keyboard icon above).
  • Quickly press one of the four hotkeys twice (Tab/Caps Lock/Left Ctrl/Right Ctrl) on your keyboard to activate it or switch to it. The default hotkey is "Tab". For example, if you want to use "Left Ctrl" as a hotkey, press the "Left Ctrl" key twice quickly to switch the hotkey to it, then other hotkeys will be invalid.
  • Ensure you operate the hotkey in a correct way. For example, if the present default hotkey is "Tab", you can press "Tab" + "1"/"Tab"+"2" to switch to HDMI input group 1/2 respectively. You can also press "Tab" + "→"/ "Tab" + "←" to switch to the next or the previous input source group.

5. What can I do if I can't wake up my PC with the mouse/keyboard?

  • Try connecting the keyboard/mouse to your PC directly without using the KVM switch. Ensure they can wake up your PC when in sleep or hibernate mode.
  • When you use the mouse to wake up your PC, you need to click the mouse, not just moving it.

6. What can I do if the USB connection is intermittent and not stable?

  • Check your USB cable connection, or try using shorter USB cables with better quality.
  • Try connecting the USB devices to the PC directly without using the KVM switch. Then check if the USB connection works.
  • Power on the KVM switch once again to check if it can help.

7. What can I do if there is no audio output from the 3.5mm audio port?

  • Check your headset's 3.5mm audio jack. It should have 3 pins instead of 4 pins to match the KVM switch's audio port.
  • Check if you have selected the headset as an audio output device on your PC.
