Bestway Fast Set Pool: Owner's Manual and Setup Guide

This document provides comprehensive instructions for setting up, using, maintaining, and storing your Bestway Fast Set pool. It consolidates information from various languages into English for clarity.

⚠️ Important Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when using your pool. Read and understand all warnings and instructions before setup and use.

  • Supervise children closely, especially those who cannot swim. Children under five are at the highest risk of drowning.
  • Keep chemicals (e.g., water treatment, cleaning agents) out of reach of children.
  • Never dive into the pool.
  • Do not use the pool if you have consumed alcohol or taken medication that may impair your ability to use the pool safely.
  • Ensure children under 5 years old do not enter the pool unsupervised. Consider safety barriers to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Safety barriers, pool covers, and alarms are helpful but do not replace constant, competent adult supervision.
  • Keep rescue equipment (e.g., life buoy) and a phone with emergency numbers nearby.
  • Learn basic first aid techniques, such as CPR, and refresh your knowledge regularly.
  • Remove all toys and other objects from the pool and surrounding area when the pool is not in use to prevent children from being attracted to it.
  • Protect users from waterborne diseases by maintaining clean water and hygiene. Follow water cleaning instructions.
  • Do not leave the pool unattended while it is filling with water.
  • Never attempt to move a pool that is full of water, as this can cause serious injury or damage the pool.
  • Ensure the pool is installed on a level surface. If not, drain the pool and level the ground.
  • High pressure inside the pool can cause the liner to rupture if there are bulges or unevenness. Ensure the pool is level and pressure is uniform.

Choosing the Installation Site

Selecting the correct location is crucial for the safety and longevity of your pool.

Site Requirements:

  • Surface Support: The ground must be able to support the total weight of the pool and water.
  • Level and Smooth: The surface must be flat and smooth. Uneven ground can cause structural stress, damage the liner, and lead to pool collapse.
  • Clearance: Keep the area free from objects that children could use to climb into the pool. Ensure no overhead power lines or tree branches are present.
  • Drainage: Install near a suitable drainage system for easy emptying or overflow management.
  • Obstacle-Free: The chosen area must be free of any objects that could puncture or damage the pool liner when filled with water.
  • Vegetation: Remove all grass and other vegetation. Dead vegetation can cause odors and slime, and live plants can puncture the liner.

Recommended Surfaces:

  • Grass
  • Earth
  • Concrete

Not Recommended Surfaces:

  • Mud
  • Sand
  • Gravel
  • Roof
  • Balcony
  • Driveway
  • Soft or loose soil

Note: Check local regulations regarding fencing, barriers, and safety requirements.

Diagram Descriptions: Diagrams illustrate site selection criteria, showing the importance of a level, clear, and stable surface, free from overhead obstructions and vegetation.

Pool Setup and Installation

Setup typically takes 2-3 people approximately 10 minutes, excluding ground preparation.

Note: Bestway is not responsible for damage caused by improper handling or failure to follow instructions.

  • Unfold the pool and ensure the base is laid flat and without wrinkles.
  • For inflatable ring pools: Do not use high-pressure air. Inflate the top ring until it is slightly firm to the touch. Over-inflation can cause damage.
  • Do not drag the pool on the ground.
  • Do not use extension cords to connect the pump to power.
  • High temperatures can cause the air ring to expand. Allow some space for expansion.

Diagram Descriptions: Diagrams show the pool being unfolded and laid flat, and illustrate various site selection considerations.

Filling the Pool with Water

WARNING: Do not leave the pool unattended while filling.

  1. Add 1" to 2" (2.5-5 cm) of water to cover the pool floor.
  2. Once the floor is slightly covered, gently smooth out all wrinkles, starting from the center and working clockwise towards the outside.
  3. Continue filling until the wall is level and the water reaches the indicated weld line. DO NOT OVERFILL, as this can cause instability and potential collapse.
  4. If heavy rain occurs, you may need to drain some water to maintain the correct level.
  5. After filling, verify the pool is level. If water is pooling on one side, drain the pool and re-level the ground.

IMPORTANT: Never attempt to move a pool that is full of water, as this can cause serious injury or damage the pool.

WARNING: Uneven pressure inside the pool (indicated by bulges or unevenness) can lead to liner rupture. Ensure the pool is level and the pressure is uniform.

Diagram Descriptions: A diagram shows the water level reaching the indicated line and a checkmark indicating a level pool. Another diagram shows a spirit level indicating 0° for a level surface.

Pool Maintenance

Proper maintenance is essential for health and extends the pool's lifespan.

Water Care:

  • Use a Chemconnect dispenser or a Chemical Floater for water treatment (sold separately if not included).
  • Remove the dispenser when the pool is in use.
  • Regularly test water chemistry using a test kit ❓ (sold separately). Maintain recommended levels for pH, chlorine, etc.
  • Keep water clean and safe.
  • Provide a basin for users to wash their feet before entering.
  • Cover the pool when not in use.
  • Clean surface debris regularly.
  • Clean the filter cartridge regularly.
  • Clean foam and dirt from the top ring.
  • Monitor water level, especially during rain, and drain excess water if necessary to avoid exceeding the maximum level.

Chemical Treatment Guidelines:

  • IMPORTANT: Do not use granular tablets or throw tablets directly into the water, as they can damage the liner.
  • Add chemical solutions slowly and in the center of the pool.
  • Remove the chemical dispenser before using the pool.
  • Use a test kit to check water chemistry after treatment.
  • Maintain recommended water parameters (refer to the table for specific values like pH, chlorine, etc.).
  • NOTE: Warranty does not cover damage due to chemical imbalance. Handle chemicals with care.
  • Excessive chemicals can discolor and damage the pool material.

Water Parameter Table:

Parameter Value
Water Clarity Bottom clearly visible
Water Color Colorless
Turbidity (FNU/NTU) max. 1.5 (preferably < 0.5)
Nitrate Concentration (mg/L) max. 20
Total Organic Carbon (TOC) (mg/L) max. 4.0
Redox Potential (vs Ag/AgCl 3.5 mol KCl) (mV) min. 650
pH Value 6.8 to 7.6
Free Active Chlorine (without cyanuric acid) (mg/L) 0.3 to 1.5
Free Chlorine (with cyanuric acid) (mg/L) 1.0 to 3.0
Cyanuric Acid (mg/L) max. 100
Combined Chlorine (mg/L) max. 0.5 (preferably close to 0.0 mg/L)

Filter System:

The filtration system must be run daily for sufficient time to ensure complete water turnover.

Disassembly and Storage

Follow these steps to safely disassemble and store your pool.

  1. Unscrew and remove the drain cap.
  2. Connect a hose adapter (if applicable) and direct the hose to a suitable drainage area, following local regulations.
  3. Attach the hose adapter to the drain valve and open the valve to begin draining. Open fully for maximum flow.
  4. Release air from the top ring by pressing the air valve.
  5. Once all air is released, press down on the top ring and tilt the pool to help drain remaining water. Drain completely.
  6. After draining, unscrew the adapter and re-install the drain cap.
  7. Air dry the pool completely.
  8. Talc the surfaces to prevent sticking and carefully fold the pool.
  9. Store the pool and accessories in a clean, dry place at a moderate temperature (5°C to 38°C / 41°F to 100°F).
  10. It is strongly recommended to disassemble and store the pool off-season (winter).

Note: Improper draining can lead to injury or property damage.

Diagram Descriptions: Diagrams illustrate the steps for draining the pool, including connecting the hose, releasing air, and folding.
