RK SmartWave Series Carbon Fiber Radiant Heater

The RK SmartWave Series offers instant, directional infrared heat with durable CarbonIQ heating elements rated for 10,000 hours. These high-output medium-wave lamps provide a soft warm glow and are IP55 water-resistant for all-weather conditions. The heaters feature a built-in electronic controller with high/low heating modes and a timer. A handheld IR remote control with a wall holder is included. Installation is flexible with adjustable wall/ceiling brackets or chain mounts (chain not included). The construction utilizes aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel for corrosion resistance. These heaters warm objects directly, not the surrounding air, and are rated for indoor and protected outdoor applications. They are ETL certified for USA and Canada and come with a 3-year limited warranty on the fixture and a 1-year limited warranty on the carbon lamps.

What is CarbonIQ Heating Technology?

CarbonIQ infrared lamps are rated for up to an astounding 10,000 hours, producing a soft warm glow that provides more directional heat than traditional quartz heaters. Unlike short-wave infrared, CarbonIQ utilizes the medium wave of the light spectrum, which is more effective at heating human skin. This results in a softer radiant heat with a similar effect to the sun, while producing less visible light.

Instant Heat: Due to the low mass of carbon fiber, CarbonIQ heating elements deliver instant heat the moment they are activated.

Benefits of the Spiraled Coil: The carbon fiber elements are formed into a lightweight spiraled coil that absorbs the effects of thermal expansion and vibrations.

98% Efficient Heat Transfer Rate: The excellent electrical and thermal conducting properties of carbon fiber allow for a heat transfer rate from electricity to heat that can reach 98%, minimizing heat loss and saving energy.

Heat Coverage Areas

The RK SmartWave Series offers different heat coverage areas based on wattage:

• 1500W (24" Length): Recommended Mounting Height 8'-9'. Provides 5' x 5' coverage.
• 3000W (43" Length): Recommended Mounting Height 9'-10'6". Provides 8' x 8' coverage.
• 4500W (61" Length): Recommended Mounting Height 10'6"-11'6". Provides 10' x 10' coverage.

Note: Indoor or well-protected environments will generally exceed average coverage areas. Heaters may provide less than average coverage in extremely cold or windy conditions.

Note: Clearance to combustibles must be maintained as published in the RK Series Installation, Operation, Maintenance and Parts Manuals and on safety labels. Factory recommended mounting heights are a guideline; mounting too low or too high may result in discomfort or lack of heat.

Clearance to Combustibles in Inches

Heaters mounted on an angle between 0° and 45° must maintain clearances posted for 0° or 45°, whichever is greater.

NOTE: Building materials with low heat tolerance (e.g., awnings, fabrics, plastics, sprinklers, insulation) should be protected against degradation. This may require mounting the heater at a distance exceeding the published clearances to combustibles. Contact the material manufacturer for specific details.
