Understanding Your Device

This section details the components and indicators of the ZTE G5C device.

Usage Scenarios

Your device supports internet connection via nano-SIM card or home broadband. Once connected, you can use your phone, tablet, or computer to access the internet.

Preparing Your Device

Installing the nano-SIM Card

When connecting to the internet using a nano-SIM card, insert the nano-SIM card first.

Powering On the Device

The device will automatically turn on after connecting the power adapter.

Connecting to the Device

Initializing the Device and Connecting to the Internet

The device requires setting a Wi-Fi password and a management page password for initial use. After setting the passwords, the device can connect to the internet.

  1. After successfully connecting to the device, open a browser and enter the default IP address from the label. The management page will appear.
  2. Select "I have read and agree to the ZTE Zhongxing Smart Router Privacy Statement" and click "Start".
  3. On the quick setup page, set the Wi-Fi password and login password. You can also choose to sync the login password to set the same password. Then click "Next".
  4. After setup is complete, use the newly set Wi-Fi password to connect to the device's Wi-Fi network. You can then use your phone, tablet, or computer to access the internet.

Note: Please remember your new password.

Modifying Settings

You can change the device's default settings by logging into the device management page.

  1. Check the label on the bottom of the device for the default management page IP address.
  2. Open a browser and enter the management page IP address in the address bar.
  3. Enter the password set during initialization and log in.
  4. Once the management page is open, you can change the default settings.

Bridge Mode Description

The device supports bridge mode, allowing you to connect to the internet using your carrier's services.

  1. Ensure the device can automatically connect to the internet using your nano-SIM card.
  2. Log in to the device management page.
  3. Navigate to Network > Network Mode > Wireless Mode > Bridge Mode, and click Apply. After confirmation, the device will restart automatically.
  4. Devices connected to the device's WAN/LAN port will obtain an IP address from the internet's DHCP host and connect directly to the internet.

Note: Other client devices connected to this device can access the internet. You can use any client connected to this device to access the device's management page.

Wired Mode Description

The device supports carrier-provided broadband services, allowing you to connect directly to the internet.

  1. Log in to the device management page.
  2. Navigate to Network > Network Mode > Wired Mode, and click Apply. After confirmation, the device will restart automatically.
  3. Connect the carrier's broadband service to the device's WAN/LAN port using a network cable.
  4. Log in to the management page again, navigate to Network > Wired Network > Connection Mode, and configure the device's wired internet connection based on the carrier's parameter information.
  5. Connect your computer or mobile device to the internet.

Dual-Network Mode Description

The device supports dual-network modes, including Automatic Mode and Hybrid Mode. You can use a nano-SIM card and the carrier's broadband service to connect to the internet.

  1. Ensure the nano-SIM card is inserted and the carrier's broadband service is connected to the device's WAN/LAN port.
  2. Log in to the device's management page.
  3. Navigate to Network > Network Mode > Automatic Mode or Hybrid Mode, and click Apply. After confirmation, the device will restart automatically.
    • Automatic Mode: When both wired and wireless networks are connected, the device defaults to using the wired network for internet access. If one network disconnects, the device will automatically switch to the other.
    • Hybrid Mode: When both wired and wireless networks are connected, the device uses both connections to improve internet access speed. If one network disconnects, the other will continue to provide internet service.
  4. Log in to the management page again, navigate to Network > Wired Network > Connection Mode, and configure the device's wired internet connection based on the carrier's parameter information.
  5. Connect your computer or mobile device to the internet.

Troubleshooting

Problem Recommended Action
Cannot use Wi-Fi to connect the device and user terminal.
  • Check if the device's Wi-Fi is enabled.
  • Refresh the wireless network list and select the correct SSID to connect.
  • Check if the user terminal's IP address is set to obtain automatically.
  • Check the label on the bottom of the device to get the default SSID.
User terminal connected to the device cannot access the internet.
  • Ensure your nano-SIM card is available.
  • The device needs to complete the initialization setup before normal use.
  • Try moving the device to a location with a good signal.
  • Contact your service provider and confirm your APN settings.
Cannot access the device management page.
  • Enter the correct IP address. Check the label on the device for the preset device management page IP address.
  • Do not use any proxy servers.

Network Access Query: You can scan the QR code below, enter the new network access permit digital code (21-digit code) and the device's unique identifier (IMEI on the label) to verify authenticity. The new network access permit digital code needs to be queried on the device management page. Please log in to the device management page, select System > Network Access Electronic Permit Query.

Environmental Use Period

Warranty Policy

ZTE Corporation provides after-sales service in accordance with China's "Three Guarantees" regulations. The main unit of the wireless data terminal has a warranty period of one year, and the charger has a warranty period of one year. The warranty period starts from the date of invoice issuance.

If the wireless data terminal experiences quality issues within the warranty period, consumers can present the warranty certificate stamped by the dealer and the original invoice to an authorized ZTE service center for free warranty service. The warranty certificate is applicable to wireless data terminals sold legally in mainland China by ZTE Corporation.

Three Guarantees Services include: Return, Exchange, and Repair.

  1. Within 7 days of purchase, if the product has non-human-induced performance failures, consumers can choose to return or exchange the product at the dealership.
  2. Within 15 days of purchase, if the product has non-human-induced performance failures, consumers can choose to exchange or get free repair service at a local authorized ZTE service center.
  3. Within 12 months of purchase, if the product has non-human-induced performance failures, consumers can get free repair service at a local authorized ZTE service center.

Warranty Exclusion Clauses: Warranty service is limited to the effective warranty period under normal use. Non-human-induced faults caused by product quality issues will void the warranty under the following circumstances:

  1. Unauthorized disassembly or repair by the consumer without ZTE Corporation's permission.
  2. Use of non-ZTE certified or inappropriate accessories.
  3. Damage caused by the consumer not following the manual or other improper use, including liquid ingress.
  4. Damage caused by incorrect testing, maintenance, debugging, or other improper use by the consumer.
  5. Damage caused by transportation, drops, extrusion, or other force majeure events (e.g., earthquakes, typhoons, floods, tsunamis).
  6. Absence of a valid "Three Guarantees" certificate and purchase invoice.
  7. Exceeding the warranty period.
  8. The "Three Guarantees" certificate does not match the product model or has been altered.
  9. Other circumstances not covered by warranty as stipulated by law.
